Do you ever hear about an animation project, and more than a year passes and you wonder how it's doing? Whether it's still in production or if it got dropped.
Is there anything animated related that you're still waiting to hear more news on?
What are some sites/blogs you follow for news on animation?
It's pathetic, but I learn about new cartoons from Sup Forums.
Brayden Russell
I do, too.
Compared to the alternative community sources or animation news sites, Sup Forums is definitely the fastest at keeping up with all new cartoons, including indie stuff like Becky Prim.
William Cruz
wheres that fucking astro boy reboot from france the atom beginnings anime sucked
Andrew Wilson
What happened to this project? they made a lot on indiegogo. Did they ran away with the money? I know animation takes time but they seem to have disappear from the face of the earth.
Jaxon Reed
I wonder how this is coming along.
Connor Jenkins
Anyone heard anything about Hullabaloo, that steampunk-looking cartoon project from some former Disney animators who worked on stuff in the Renaissance & PatF?
Joseph Hall
Just gotta wait.
John Turner
Sam Sweetmilk apparently got a third pilot that's fully animated. They're pitching it off to studios rather than releasing online this time though
Jose Fisher
Friend of mine is working on this. Joint country project, going to be a long while until this is out
Luis Roberts
I'm excited
Jackson Lewis
The cartoon in your pic looks nice OP. Where can I watch it/find news?
Anthony Martinez
Where do you get you animation news from besides Sup Forums? Most of the sites I follow only really keep track of big movie releases like pixar, disney, dreamworks, sony etc.
Ryder Jackson
There are a couple of French studios working on stuff that I can't find any information about, which is annoying. Les Chabadas out of SuperProd, for example. Could be cute.
Best sites for legitimate news are kidscreen, tbivision and animation magazine's website. MIPJUNIOR is next month, which is the E3 of animation. That's always exciting to me.
Charles Johnson
That's why I come here. Best source for animation news, to be honest.
Josiah Martinez
this in kinda tricky, i have made thread about new projects of animation and die fast cause Sup Forums only want to talk about waifus and tvcape
Isaac Hernandez
Agreed, it's sad that useful threads like this desuarchive.org/co/thread/93158845/ die quickly, I love watching Euro animation news since American and Canadian ones are always posted here.
Nathaniel Foster
The Cartoon Forum is literally happening right now. And I made that thread. Cartoon Forum usually uploads trailers for each show during the event, but for some reason, they haven't this time. I can only hope it's late and not a new precedent.
Here are the trailers for last year's Cartoon Forum. Some of the stuff here has probably already been cancelled, but a select few will make it.
The trailer for the cartoon used in the OP should actually be in there somewhere.
Isaiah Davis
>The Cartoon Forum is literally happening right now Any stream/live updating site/twitter hashtag? I'd like to follow
Anthony Torres
Just the standard #cartoonforum on twitter, but there's not a lot of reliable details. Without the trailers, there's not much to talk about.
Camden Young
I got nothing to contribute but I'll give this a bump.
Michael James
Because trailers are scarce and these are projects, so we will have to wait a couple years to watch the final products.
Kayden Russell
There really does not seem to be any other pace that gets and posts news as much as Sup Forums
The only problem is that interesting info gets buried under waifu threads real fast
Aiden Reyes
This incredibly confusing shit somehow managed to get my interest, but there is nothing about any aspect of it in the last year and a half.
Kayden Carter
There's Cartoon Brew but that's fairly toxic. Good to follow animators on twitter as they're usually quite good at passing on news if they arn't politically charged
Oliver Howard
Sadly, that's the truth. I hope we get to know the winners of the Forum soon.
Thomas Taylor
what is that?
Oliver Sanchez
Dang. Still looking forward to it. The watercolor style is great, and a grandparent/grandchild animated film isn't super common.
It's called The Scareaways but I haven't seen anything about it.
I was trying to look for these past videos today. Will the trailers that were shown this year get upped too?
someone leaked a whole episode several months ago and it only makes you ask more questions than answers anything at all
Xavier Cox
They should have already been uploaded. I'm hoping they're just late and will be added later.
They have videos on there going back to the 2014 event. I don't believe they have anything up from 2013.
Carson Edwards
You can browse all of the pitches shows for the past four years here, but finding the trailer of them requires tracking down the video on vimeo. Some of these shows are still in development, even after all of these years, while others have been cancelled. This one, for example. Cleo Green didn't make it.
Xilam's Paprika was pitched in 2014. It's still in development. Originally, it was a cartoon about a disabled boy and his brother, but they changed it over time, so it's now about a disabled boy and his sister. I made this gif last year for some reason, showing the change.
Here's the old trailer as well. The show doesn't interest me, but it's an example of how many projects in the Cartoon Forum have a long struggle to exist.
The Cartoon Forum is, I believe, exclusively European.
Platy & Puss is another cartoon that has had a long struggle to survive. It was also pitched at the Cartoon Forum, but they only managed to finish the pilot this year. The original pitch looked better.
I wish it were in development hell, but it's still scheduled to air early next year
Parker Cox
Source of that gif pls?
Lincoln Howard
The Animaniacs reboot
I just want to know how bad it will suck. I'm expecting the worst, some overseas flash animation garbage with 3d backgrounds
Julian Ramirez
Eventually...
Brandon Mitchell
>I could have looked into it, but I would rather not, and ask Sup Forums a year later
Samuel Garcia
Dragon's Lair pitch video.
It is FUCKING 100% DONE, but right now only viewable by higher tier backers.
Jack Hughes
Hullabaloo is still happening, follow their FB Page, as they've been posting Dev updates. And apparently they raised more than their goal, so are working on 4 episodes of this.
2018 according to some teletoon forum.
Leo Johnson
Keeping the thread alive in case the trailers pop up.
David Gonzalez
That looks like Secret of Kells. Is it by the same people?
Honestly same here. There's so many shows I discovered because of this board.
Carter Bell
Will this get an english dub and will H. Jon Benjamin play the wolf?
Juan James
Anyone know what happened to Atomic Puppet?
Are we getting Season 2 or never ever? Everyone's lost interest by now it seems.
Levi Diaz
Ren & Stimpy 2.0 sucked and no one watched it.
Liam Green
Yup, director is Tomm Moore (who did both) and the writer is Will Collins (Song of the Sea)
Jace Richardson
I have high hopes for Ireland as a new competitor in the animation industry. I see they're like Canada, but successful and with more creativity. I hope they get to launch more entertaining shows and films
Cartoon Saloon is the real powerhouse in Ireland, without them the only stuff coming out of that country would be shit like Pucky
Colton Clark
>male/female conjoined twins hot
Caleb Howard
I don't think the setting interests me very much.
Mason Wood
This is a treasure trove of failed dreams, although I suspect more than a few managed to persevere. Where the Cartoon Forum is for European animation, the SPP is for Asian - although Australia gets lumped in there as well. I suppose a few of these could be considered anime, but most of it is proper cartoons, and they have hundreds of shows going back to 2002. Just click the tabs to change year.
Rimba Racer was even on there years ago. It became a real show and was popular on Sup Forums.
It's how I found the SPP. I saw this on facebook and wanted to know more about it. Whether or not it actually gets made? That remains to be seen. Can't find any actual animation.
Justin Butler
How about the Enchant Sisters? Not yet?
Gavin Johnson
Quite often. It's usually on a production studio website that shows all of the different animated series it creates that'll have upcoming animated projects. If not that, then it's a website that shows all the shows under its belt that it produces. (Sorry if that did not make much sense to read. I'm probably not describing these two things the best way.)
I find a lot of things that peak my interest, particularly action/adventure cartoons. A lot of them, however, end up slipping my mind, not due to disinterest, but because of sheer amounts of "out of sight, out of mind".
One such one that I kept on the look out for a few years back was "Guardians of Luna". Haven't heard anything in a while, and production seems to have stalled. All I know is that there was big fanfare and that they went through more than one animation style. They also had some lore down, and their main site is now defunct. This image is one such style they seemed to be going with.
There's also a cartoon that I believe is Italian in origin that caught my eye called "Partidei". I think I saw it on a MondoTV production/showcasing site. The concept and designs were both cool, and I'd love to watch it, but I haven't heard anything about it in a long time. Not sure where on the production line it is, or if it is still in production at all.
There's also Beast Keeper" from MondoTV, which tickled my nostalgia senses something fierce, but still nothing.
A lot these shows I came to find by chance. Also, for all I know, they could be out now, and I'd never realize it.
Angel Gomez
My biggest issues with this being is source was mentioned in parts here. Having to put up with sass, riff-raff and trolls, those who do nothing but mock what they don't like, and the always frustrating "waifu" spamjunk makes this place kind of useless for any constructive finding of new animated fare and discussion on it.
And also like mentioned, when you do come across that rare diamond in the rough that doesn't have the typical Sup Forums baggage, those threads die faster than fast.
I've had some nice and pleasant conversations in those rare kinds of threads, too.
Daniel Murphy
School of Magic looks cool. I think that's something I'd like to see.
Xavier Hill
I dunno. I'm actually looking forward to the new Mega Man cartoon.
Did not know this was a thing. A point for Sup Forums, I suppose. Looks like something I might like.
Benjamin Jenkins
male/female & white/brown conjoined twins
Kayden Robinson
Not how I remember it. It was all of the hype, and folks were saying it was one of the best modern action cartoons, or in the least, begrudgingly saying it's better then they thought. It's more surprising it didn't develop the poor spam generals other shows tend to (which is good that it didn't, mind you).
Still needed to watch it, myself, though.
Camden Parker
It really does look like a fun, and dare I say, magical show to have. I hope it becomes a reality.
Jack Martinez
>Are we getting Season 2 or never ever? probably not but then again, supernoobs got a season 2, so I still have hope
Aaron Rivera
Source of Cleo Green? Please.
Oliver Carter
This is probably not one that many here would be interested in, but it fits the topic.
I heard wind that the west was going to create a new Bakugan: Battle Brawlers series as a reboot to the western franchise, complete with accompanying bells and whistles. I wonder if they are going through with it, 'cause that was about 2 years ago when it was first mentioned/hinted.
For my part, Bakugan was never a show I watched, because it came on cable and I only had broadcast. Still, I do know it had its following of fans who grew up with it.
I have no clue on how accurate the image's name is to anything.
>supernoobs got a season 2 Is this true?
Because I actually really liked Supernoobs, and I want to see the shenanigans plus the deepest lore continue.
Say, dear poster, is this in any way, shape, or form related to the movie "Thunder and the House of Magic"?
If so, I absolutely loved that movie when I saw it on Neflix! Looking at the images again, some of the kids remind me of those 3 kids that visited the older stage magician when he was in the hospital and befriended him. They even drove a friggin' truck to his house (which was an awesome scene, along with the bulldozer climax).
If that's the case, my interest just skyrocketed, and I'm really looking forward to series set in that movie's universe.
Wyatt Barnes
Yes, it's supposed to be a spin-off series.
Aaron Moore
Good to hear.
Evan Brooks
Yeah, this place is good at passing along information and even leak links, but actually discussing them is another issue.
Still, it beats places like CartoonBrew who barely even report anything about new shows or productions (unless Amid can make an agenda out of it) AND the discussion atmosphere is pure shit.
Landon Watson
anyone know when the ernest and celestine series comes out? that preview ep was released like several months ago already
i remember threads for this isnt there porn?
theres some really good porn of this. thanks padoga
Isaiah Williams
I don't even know of anywhere else to get cartoon news.
Luis Torres
also when is this coming out in english? i know it's already aired in french but no one has uploaded anywhere except like 3 untranslated eps. i was hoping the english release would bolster interest and generate some cute porn
Chase Jackson
I'll draw the boy in the middle getting fucked, give me refs anons
Caleb Kelly
Not familiar with CartoonBrew. It's hard to imagine a place worse than here, though, considering how bad it can get here.
Also, it's seems it's time for this thread to go in the southerly direction. :(
Connor Russell
It's worse because there is no consistent strain of information. In one article, CB will have a list of every animated film in production for a slated year around the world, but then they might never post articles with new trailers for big movies or upcoming TV shows.
Plus, a lot of the articles are filtered through Amid's opinions, who is a delusional idiot to begin with (he credits himself for the brony fandom as well as brining to light "crucial" info like Sugar being the first solo-woman showrunner at CN). So, if he hates The Peanuts Movie trailer and shits all over it, the comment discussion becomes about how people disagree with Amid rather than what they think about the trailer and people having back-and-forths with each other on that.
Not to mention Amid will frequently make clickbait articles or articles based around tweets from artists meant to push his agenda or hatred for a company. Like when he featured CH Greenblatt's tumblr when he had a meltdown over Harvey Beaks as evidence for why Nickelodeon sucks dick and Greenblatt got even more in trouble because now even if he were to delete the Tumblr posts, they were plastered permanently on CB.
Anything showcasing behind the scenes or artists have no comments whatsoever, so there's nothing to discuss with people there.
Oh, and all the comments are moderated at an incredibly slow pace, maybe a conversation between two people last several days with only maybe 10 posts having being posted between them in that time.
Jace Myers
Yikes!
Adam Richardson
I miss the animation guild blog. The old union boss used to post behind the scenes information, visiting studios regularly and talking about what they're doing in non-specific terms. It was very reliable.
Sadly, he retired last year, and the new guy is terrible. The blog hasn't had much information recently.
animatieblog.nl is pretty nice, but it's not in English. You have to auto-translate it. They post a lot of obscure stuff on there, but also cover mainstream news. It's just a good source to keep an eye out for new things.
William Adams
I'm not sure there are besides these two pics.
Jaxson Cook
yeah, I read the thread and noticed so, eh, its not like could post that here anyways
Easton Rivera
Its really bugs he how that thread goes through a shit load of trees.
Lucas Howard
You got anywhere you post your stuff?
Ian Nguyen
tumblr pixiv and patreon, my best account was at ygallery but that exploded
just look for pornopio, also side note, most of the stuff in my patreon is free because I hate paywalls, so you can reliably see stuff there (since pixiv is a clusterfuck and tumblr deletes shota content accounts)
Aiden Flores
You have good taste as he is qt but you tainted this pure cartoon loving thread. Unforgivable.
Zachary Nguyen
I tend to do that, sorry user, I porn everything I touch
Bentley Smith
done blep blep serach pornopio patreon for full ver, its for free, dont worry
Jose Nguyen
please touch more things
Henry Roberts
youtube.com/watch?v=Fs105n836l8 As far as I know there's been total silence on whether or not the 2 Queens movie is still a thing, so I'm guessing it's been canceled
