Did you fall for the STEM meme? How is it working out for you? Are there any respectable humanities degree?

Going into finance is pretty good

you need the jew-gene to be successful tho

It's called a STEAM degree now because Art is unfairly misrepresented check you privilege shitlord.

What's the point of the acronym if art is included? How is art even related to the others?

Is medicine considered STEM?

I'd say it falls under science, but not a "hard" science.

It's not, it's just something the left is trying to engineer so they can skew stats to make STEM look less desirable so they can get more dumbasses to get useless degrees that they'll never be able to pay for.

Yes as long it isnt dentistry.

>not enough niggers in math, science, and engineering
why is this? there is no barrier against browns in STEM--the opposite is actually true with AA. pic related. why are there still so few?

>change the equation

>change
>the
>equation

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm really made me THOUGHTCRIME

Because just because you got accepted dosent mean you will make it.
People who only got in due to affirmative action often drop out after the first year because they lack the self discipline, talent and interest(even going as far as throwing away your private life just to learn a bit more) that is required to actually make it.

Comp Sci major. Been working as a Software Engineer and currently work from home. Make 6 figs, love my job, no student loan debt, pretty comfy.

I did econ undergrad and mba, making 70k burgerbucks at 26 doing financial analysis working like 30-35 hours a week

Feels comfy man

>Change the Equation

An equation is a fucking equation

If you pakis and spics are too dumb to understand that science is a discipline where you're either right or wrong and you can't change a fucking mathematical rule then you're too stupid to be a scientist, Pedro and fucking Rasheed

>Get a fine art degree lolololololol
>Get hired by professional theatres to make stage props and set pieces
>Fun job, modest pay, won't be taken over by robots anytime soon
>Avoided the STEM meme and made it in the arts

...

>Did you fall for the STEM meme?
Yes, CS.
>How is it working out for you?
Six figure starting salary, and around 1 to 2 hours of work is just playing ping pong when my code is compiling

Pretty much the same here, except BSEE. Engineering shouldn't even be bundled in STEM with STM. Engineering is god tier.

if you don't think 2+2=5 then too bad racist, off to the gulag you go

No, I didn't. History and idk what I'm gonna do with it.

BS in biochem, can't do shit without 2+ years experience. Saving up to try for grad school in genetic engineering. STEM for money only works with computer shit it seems

Architectural Engineer in Texas.
Did Civil Engineering in school at UT.
75,000
Getting licensed next April, pumped for that pay raise.

Pic related was last building I was working on.

Isn't your only option to teach.

Did you not do any internships?

Or, ya know, work in some meme office my whole life with my generic BA.

I did, but I'm a poorfag and internships cost money. No point bitching now

People with shitty degrees who don't want to pay off their loans were getting tired of guys with well paying STEM careers calling them lazy socialist parasites. At the same time art teachers were upset that schools were enacting STEM programs when that money could instead be spent on arts programs. By merging art into STEM, the muddle the field and gain access to STEM resources.

I would rather have had gone into classical history, but I knew I'd never find work.

So you find no benefit in non-stem degrees?

Oh shit I have seen this "minorities are lacking stem" meme, this ends BADLY.

They will fail to comply and the institution will have to lower its standards. This is too fucked up.

>biology
>the only stem area that has no jobs
>chem
>the only stem area where you need a PhD to get even just a simple assistant job
>somehow a combination of both is shit too
Who would have thought that

I need to declare soon and I have no idea what I want to do.

I'm not particularly good at STEM but I realize that's where I can make a decent living. If I could choose then I'd major in Phil, but I don't know what I could do with a philosophy degree. I wouldn't mind staying in academia but I'm not too confident that I'm smart enough for that.

Should I just suck it up and go CS?

Non STEM degrees are fine if you can afford one. The problem comes in when people take out huge loans for degrees that aren't economically viable. Learning for enjoyment and personal development is fine but it is a luxury that shouldn't be the responsibility of society to provide. There are non STEM degrees that do lead to good careers but those aren't the ones whining about STEM.

And which are the degrees that aren't completely useless?

Ever consider that a university degree isn't the best path for you? The world needs tradesmen more than it needs another middle manager.

Go down the list until you find a degree that interests you while keeping in mind what it will earn versus what it is going to cost.

>we live in a world where people literally need to pay to work just for the slim hope they might get a real job somewhere else

Fuck this gay earth.

cs is the only stem degree worth getting.

It's kind of annoying how much physician assistants make, given how fucking useless they are.

Can't wait to be impoverished my whole life.

I fell for the STEM meme.

It's pretty good.

Other than at the beginning where they make you take humanities courses, the majors are devoid of politics and liberalism completely.

It's nice to be in a major and job where there is a right answer. You can minor in some liberal arts if you want but it's better to minor in another STEM.

It's funny how all these idiots pushing for STEM seem to lack basic numeracy and literacy.
What exactly is an "underrepresented minority" supposed to be? Underrepresented relative to what? If the population you're calling "underrepresented minorities" is 25% of the U.S. and only 10% of STEM, then, actually, 100% of underrepresented minorities are underrepresented.

I fell for the nepotism meme. It was a good meme to fall for. I highly suggest being related to successful and well liked men

Otherwise I dunno what you do, I think you're fucked. There's lots of studies showing you're most likely going to stay in the same class you're born into. May aswell just accept that right? Or try and be an outlier for your whole life, but most people can't be outliers, so I dunno, it's not wrong to accept it and be happy with your lot.

Is Pharmacy considered 'STEM?

This website would be great if it took into account employability.

Software Engineer here. 22, live in NY so taxes blow but my area has pretty low cost of living, make 80k a year, 80k and some change in debt but I'm honestly not worried about it since I put 2 grand at it every month (was over 100k).
