All this year I'll be posing Punisher comics. Most of them will be pre-Ennis era stuff, but there'll be some from the Ennis era as well. Expect at least 1 storytime per week.
This week I've posted a team-up with Ghost Rider and Daredevil, along with the return of The Punisher's dog (here: ) as well as the return of Mike Baron, along with a story arc where The Punisher fights a grizzly bear (here: ) and the return of Steven Grant (here: ).
Today we're going to continue where we left off yesterday with the next arc in the "no head writer" era of The Punisher that fell between the Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning run and the later Chuck Dixon run that closed out the volume.
This storytime is going to cover Abnett & Lanning's 1st fill-in arc on The Punisher, which was also their return to the book some time after their original run on the same series. It's an exceptionally action heavy arc about The Punisher going up against arsonists that are firebombing the fuck out of shit.
And if ever there was an underrated Punisher story, this is it. I would HIGHLY recommend that EVERYONE on Sup Forums read this. This is legit one of the most underrated Punisher arcs EVER, and one of the biggest hidden gems of 90s Punisher comics. This might arguably be DnA's best work on the character, and the art could not possibly be a better fit for the script. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that I have seen few comics that better visually captured the feel of all those high-octane post-Die Hard hollywood action flicks than this. This is one of those comics that even without the solid script it'd still be worth reading for the art alone. If you like The Punisher when it's done as a straight-up ass-kicking action series then you NEED to read this. This is an absolute 10/10 arc in my book and one of my personal favorite works from Abnett & Lanning's entire careers.
OK, I don't know what happened, but I had these queued up and the board somehow posted them out of order and there were pages being posted from the next issue instead.
So I just deleted all the shit that was out of order and now we're gonna have to start over. I'll post everything manually now to avoid the same error happening again.

Hugh Haynes really did a bang-up job on this arc.

>van drives up in the background >The Punisher turns the corner, following the van >gets hit by the shockwave of the explosion
This is a fucking masterful sequence.
Kayden Powell
Is he literally throwing a guy through a brick wall?
Luis Edwards
Nothing wrong with this cover whatsoever, but it is still the weakest cover of the 3.
Elijah Bailey
This is an incredibly well designed page.
Henry Reed
WOW!
This is just absolutely genius visual storytelling. Everything about this page is so amazingly well done, from the panel borders, to the subtlety of the events in the background, and so on. 10/10 stuff.
Jaxson Turner
Well shit, now he's fucked.
Adam Anderson
