It's funny you mention this, because she does remind me of Marge and Lisa Simpson from the 90s. She's the logical, caring, one who is brutally uncool but also has weird basement dweller/stalker side to her.
So yeah, she is fun, but she's also needed. Otherwise you have a handful of main characters that don't really volunteer for things, and mostly react to what Robotnik does.
