Ben 10 nostalgia

did anyone else grow up on the old ben 10 show and now have had their childhood completely destroyed by the new show?

>A childhood being destroyed by an 11 minute cartoon

>Having your fave childhood show retconned completely
I demand Genndy's head on a platter.

seriously it fucking sucks.

Yes. Also pretty sure this show is the reason I only wear really bulky watches

I fucking loved this show

Nah, I was already 15-16 when the first season aired. Still, I'm mad at how fucking terrible the retcon is, Jesus. Tried to watch an episode and couldn't stand it for more than some two minutes.

I was a little older when it first came out and was never a huge fan. It is a bummer that the relaunch is so shit though.

I'm sure you'd be saying the same thing about TTG and nuPPG

Rewatched it recently and honestly the punchline dialogue is kinda cringy. Plus it seemed like the grandfather was originally not supposed to be a plumber but just your average old person and the transition didn't seem to go over very well. Oh of course the plumber stuff is cooler but still.

Eh, the grandpa was always painted as being more knowledge about aliens even from the very beginning. I think the disconnect was when AF changed the plumbers from being a secret society made up of cool old dudes like AtLA's white lotus, into being generic space cops. Incidentally, that's what tLoK did to the white lotus as well.

People need to stop making secret societies of cool old dudes and then expanding them into being generic body guards. It never helps

But I thought they were always space cops? It's just the whole larger intergalactic force wasn't really mentioned in the OS.

No, they were like the MIB. It was sorta government, but sorta not. They dealt with aliens, but only on earth as protectors. They probably had some outside connections, given that their tech definitely wasn't mainstream earth gear, but they were pretty explicitly earth protectors only in the OS.

AF changed it to being space cops, which, I guess if you wanted to increase the scope of the show was a thing that kinda worked. But I feel like the Plumbers and Space Cops probably should have been different things.

Yeah, the show aired around the time I was 10 and had god tier episodes like pic related.

I have no idea why they changed it. It makes me sad to be honest. It feels like they were just getting started, the episode where summer ended fucked me up.

Also Ghostfreak is the most powerful alien Ben ever had, prove me wrong.

I've noticed an odd phenomenon with people my age(22). Most people in my graduating class(2013) relate to Ben 10(2005, mostly the first 2 seasons), Avatar the last airbender, and American dragon: jake long with our childhoods, albeit our late childhoods.

But shows like Chowder, Flapjack, and Back to the Barnyard, which came out just a mere 1-2 years later, people my age see as 'garbage' or something that was not for us, but for the graduating classes a few years younger than us.

It seems like anything that debuted in the 2005-2006 school year was the last to have an impact on our childhoods, while anything that debuted after that school year was not part of people my age's childhoods what so ever.

Ghostfreak was certainly one of the most powerful enemies Ben has ever had, but in terms of sheer power, there are others if you want to go beyond the 10 he had in OS.

Overall, Alien X is the most powerful, and it's implied that he gains control over his abilities by the time Ben is an adult. WoG says Atomix is next after that.

Even if you ignore OP bullshit like them though, I feel like each of Bens aliens takes part in a galactic game of Rock Paper Scissors. Or maybe Pokémon would be a better analogy. Some are more powerful than others, but they almost al have weaknesses that enable them to be taken down.

Ben 10, Avatar, and American Dragon are aimed at teens between ages 11-13. They're all different shades of plot based shows (with AD being mostly filler, Ben 10 being kind of both, and Avatar straight up having a continuous plot). Chowder, Flapjack and Barnyard are comedic shows aimed at preteens. Obviously you didn't like them.

Meh. I'm 30, and didn't grow up with those shows. I was graduating HS when ATLA was airing. Shit, I didn't even watch Ben 10 until I binged the series earlier this summer.

That being said, I didn't enjoy the style of humor that Chowder and Flapjack had to offer. And Barnyard didn't appeal to me on any level.

I hated it when it premiered because it replaced MY childhood cartoons.

Why did this show have incest

Only watched the original as a kid, enjoyed it a lot and never watched anything that came after, no regrets. I didn't like the next one where he was a teen and that's where my Ben 10 journey ended. Looking back at it, the original is kind of underappreciated for how good it is.

Why did Gwen seem to get so many people riled up into a tizzy?

If you liked the OS but hated AF, you might wind up being OK with Omniverse. It had its fair share of flaws, and the Rooters arc was all kinds of fucked, but it shares the sort of lighter tone and a mix of comedic and serious villains.

Shame about what happened to vilgax tho

TTG is okay and nuPPG is just a crappy tv show it's not going to destroy your childhood.

I think she got them more into a jizzy.

Nah, I'm fine with the original only.

I only like this show for the porn

she's a semon demen

also alien force ruined it thank you mcduffie

Yeah, but it did great things for the dudes. Older Keven was traditional bad boy hot, Older Ben was clean cut cute boy next door. Shit, even that fat tub of lard Cooper got to have a growth spurt and turned into fucking prince charming.

I enjoyed the original and I've never watched the later ones. What did I miss?

The highbreed arc of Alien Force was pretty neat, and they did good things with Ben's character. I originally didn't like his new, more mature characterization, but his improved competency eventually won me over. UA was kinda shit, but I did like the Old George arc, and kinda wanted them to carry on with the implications that Ben had finally grown into being a hero.

Omniverse was fun, but the villians were kinda all over the place. Some of them were great, but the villain team ups were shit. The finale was kinda underwhelming, but the timetravel shit was fun.

They had a great set up for a space adventures series next, but we got shit on with nuBen instead.

Hated AF
Loved the original
Already too old for omniverse and missed it

>That comic
Wew

any one had one of these?

i watched until ultimate alien, i should have stopped after the original season. you missed very little

>Gwen fucked the prison girls
>Charmcaster never got around to fucking Ben

I felt cheated

that's chapter 2, it's about Gwen and Ben getting used to their new bodies while Charmcaster deals with being in her body

What did you think abouut the LoK comic?

I don't think I've read that one. What was it about?

I think Charmcaster is going to fuck Ben while he's in Gwens body

>sumo Gwen got her own toy

huh never expected that.

Korra being brainwashed by Jinora.
Fucking hot desu

Nope. That's one I didn't read.

If I'm gonna be honest, I don't typically go for lesbian shit, because the art usually isn't good enough to make up for the dogshit writing that goes along with it. But I was on a Ben10 kick and decided to see what it was about after a bunch of people said it was good.

>I don't typically go for lesbian shit
Neither do I but I made an exception for this comic. The artstyle is appealing for some reason

Good to know. I'm actually in the middle of watching LoK with my son, so once I'm done I'll have to check it out.

I wouldn't say it ruined anything for me. I don't even watch tv anymore, let alone CN. The only good show airing on CN right now is Gumball.

The old show still exists, and it's still a solid romp. UAF less so, OV is top tier.
