Spumco?

>where did the post rule 34?
Newsgroups!

Newsgroups. And yes, they had shitposting back then, too.
That's why this segment was made: youtube.com/watch?v=lNJ6dFwh8a4 the world wide web was in its infancy when there were fat, middle aged nerds complaining about children's cartoons.

I remember it. People would post hundreds upon hundreds of Julius Zimmerman pictures, which all looked the same.

I remember seeing grainy VHS screencaps of cartoons taken from expensive capture cards and thinking it was the shit.

A little bit later on we got Realmedia terny tony low res clips.

>0:34

>that fedora tip

Usenet was king back then. There were some websites too, at least by 1995, but I don't know what the earliest ones looked like because I had a text-only browser. I went to FTP archives or Usenet for most of my fanfic.

Man, I fondly recall the original WWOEC site.

So much outer space background.

>the rule 34

Image Shrines. ironmouse.za.org/dragon/ is still online and still filled with porn of dubious quality

lol the fedora guy is actually the uploader

Oh yeah. You just reminded me of the retarded days when Webrings were still a thing.

googled it, Jesus christ I think this rivals moeblob animu in sameface syndrome

To think there was a time I'd drag my dick through the proverbial desert of broken glass which were webrings and fan shrines just to see a single decent Final Fantasy titty. The internet was such a place for surface level deviant porn before the advent of Rule34.

Yep. He's solely responsible for making me lose interest in Holli Would and Jessica Rabbit.

I used to keep a picture of Deedlit from Record of Lodoss Story in a drawer for stroking purposes. She was on a sunny beach wearing a side tie bikini. You know the one.

I printed it off my HP INKJET printer and I kept it for rainy days when my internet might GO DOWN or for when my family needed to USE THE PHONE

Your fault for having shit taste, Jessica rabbit and Holli would are fucking boring.

back in the day Cool World and HFRR were the closest thing to animated porn we had, this was before Hentai's reached the US

Yeah, like said, I was young and they made my pee pee hard. It takes years to develop good taste.

I-I'm so sorry.

Do you know what I used to stroke it to user? DO YOU?

I USED TO PLAY THE TUTORIAL LEVEL OVER AND OVER JUST SO SHE'D TALK ABOUT TAKING OFF HER WET CLOTHS

You're not bad.

You just post that way.

HA HA, YES! TOMB RAIDER BONER BROTHERS, REPRESENT!

I used to have the only fap material in my house be this one batman issue where there's some gratuitous cleavage courtesy of poison ivy.

90s nerds were the real deal, wow.

My brother did the same thing with a picture of Goku fucking Usagi.
And we bought a "How to draw sexy anime girls" book when he was like, 14.
In hindsight, it was a really good guide, taught you to keep anatomy and skeletal structure in mind.

Usagi Yojimbo?
Christ jesus.

This whole thread reminds me of that time i was jerking off to this twilek in the background of phantom menace and my dad caught me and though i was jerking it to jake lloyd

Usagi Tsukino, newfag.

I'm going to assume that since you're a namefag that you're actually retarded and not just pretending.

Usagi, aka Serena, aka Sailor Moon.

I don't watch anime, especially not ones for girls. Sorry bruh

>tfw over best and only friends house for sleepover
>tfw he's playing Everquest and i'm just kind of watching because MMO's were fascinating to me
>tfw looking at the box art
>tfw start jerking it to the elf chick on the cover
>tfw right there, in his room
>tfw he either doesn't notice or pretends not to

At least I went to the bathroom to finish

Oh man there was this one issue of revenge of the sinister six with MJ and Pete fooling around

the giant poofy hair was kind of a turnoff but she had the boobies

I'm so sorry

Was it todd mcfarlane era?
Iktf

>tfw the creators of Yu Yu Hakusho and Sailor Moon met at a party and got married

Still makes me smile

Was this it?
rule34-data-003.paheal.net/_images/cd3bd0fa624845624857eb4da3f9128d/16627 - Dragon_Ball_Z MMG Sailor_Moon Usagi_Tsukino Vegeta crossover.jpg

That's vegeta.

He still hasn't fucked off.

It was Goku and he was holding her up and fucking her.
Might have been Super Sayian, might have been anal.

This makes me sick to my stomach
Some things from my youth make me nostalgic but a lot of things make me realize how shitty it all was

Erik Larsen though you'd be exscused for thinking it was McFarlane

Someone post the Goku/Anne Frank sex fanfic

Oh, yeah not too far off there.

Why do little boys do so much creepy gay shit in each other's houses

That wasn't the creepiest or gayest thing we ever did.

One time we were in his and he said he wanted to play girlfriend and boyfriend like he'd seen his sister doing.

Que him pulling me under the covers of his bed and grinding against me and moaning against my ear. I just kind of laid there confused. It went on for a good 15 minutes. Then we stopped and just went on with our day like nothing happened.

No, i'm not gay, and i'm pretty sure he isn't either. I say pretty sure cause I haven't seen him in over a decade. After his parents got divorced when we were teenagers we saw less and less of each other and by highschool we'd just kind of drifted apart.

I also started masturbating once with my mother in the room like 10 feet from me sewing. It also used to be the only place I could get any privacy was the bathroom - or the kitchen. Our entirely open kitchen. So I can clearly remember standing there in the middle of the kitchen jerkin it one time. Eventually I learned to keep that shit hid but it's a stone cold miracle my parents never just walked in on me

shit posting has been around since at least the Roman Empire.

pompeiana.org/Resources/Ancient/Graffiti from Pompeii.htm

>IX.8.3 (House of the Centenary; in the latrine near the front door); 5243: “Secundus defecated here” three time on one wall.

And it was pretty literal shitposting.

I think I never stood a chance from the start. Before CN, before the Internet, and smack in the beginning of the end of Jugoslavija things started to become truly weird.

Imagine your dad is into vidya, and imagine VHS rental stores in the Balkans circa 1992. We had it all. Imagine being a sickly little 6 year old boy, and dad rents you two cartoons for you to watch. One of them was Macross, and the other was Angel's Egg. You're burning up with a fever and you simply cannot look away.

youtube.com/watch?v=2PJePhJY76U

>He grinded against me
>But I'm pretty sure he's not gay!

Jesus christ user you and your friend need to keep your pants on, or is this just a thing that all guys do?

We were 10, I only went to bout half chub. Dunno about him. And our pants were on

I'm still very confused to how a 10 year old would be cool with his friend grinding on him and how neither of them are gay. Since I'm not a guy and never did shit like this with other girls I'm just going to assume this is a guy thing.

This puts the odyssey which is your shitposting in a new perspective.

>never did shit like this with other girls

Now whose lying m8, I read the anne frank diary I know how it is.

Also I wasn't exactly "cool" with it, I felt pretty fucking awkward, so we moved on

i used to frequent a site called dablackgoku.com that was the first DBZ fansite i found with "hentai"

opened so many doors. and i made so many wrong choices after that

I'm sure someone will someday shitpost about it, but yes. Keep in mind I grew up in a rural backwater in Croatia. No porn, no propaganda, no outside influence of any degenerate sort. Yet us boys were... graeco-roman from ages 6 - 13. It is something inherent to childhood and that awkward age before you're comfortable with girls. Individual experiences obviously vary greatly. Also yes, we DID play with girls and girls were always a part of our circle of friends. Thus my conclusion is that this is something truly primal and probably has some sort of bonding purpose. When I say primal I really mean that - I think it is inherent to the species as such and emerges from the depths of preconsciousness.

Trouble only begins if adults get their hands on this and shill faggotry as such and warp a transitory, ephemeral phase into something else entirely.

Was it this?

Kek

I'm not sure if it counts, but as a kid I thought it was really cool that the website that one obsessive stalker chick in the Amanda show kept referencing was real, and had articles written by her, I wonder if it's still standing

Heh.

But seriously I'm questioning everything. I mean, what is reality and who am I? When I look back on my life and the things I stumbled upon shit gets truly weird. I can see a thread linking everything from my earliest days to where I am now, and to make matters even more batshit i'd never know about Evola or end up on Sup Forums if I didn't watch anime as a small child, or found Sup Forums back when it had an /l/ board and I came hunting for Onpu Segawa.

I'm making little sense because I just came home from a night shift, but roughly put I'm not the only guy who suddenly found himself in this position. I mean hell, when we talked about stuff like this years ago on the other Sup Forums it became terrifying. People across the world had the exact same experiences, the exact same encounters, the exact same tragedies and so on and on despite never having met or interacted. And we all ended up in the same damn place, somehow, and shared the same values and metaphysical interests/prophecies/dreams.

Its weird kaziklu, but life has a habit of coincidences. Also, its because this website attracts a certain kind of person(degenerates that masturbate to ponies, rock people, and undead girls) thats its highly probable said like minds would have similar experiances

There's truth to that of course, but I was mostly refering to the pre-history of "us" that went on before the Internet etc.

Naturally you cannot emerge unscathed from this leviathan. I've been here since 2006. It's been one hell of a ride.

What was it like? The early internet and early Sup Forums? Ive only been here for 2 years, and because of strict parenting didnt really got to explore the internet until 2010. What i find really strange is that from what i can tell and what video shown, internet culture and the type of people on it have largely stayed the same.

I can't truly speak for the early Internet since I got online in 1999 (56k dialup, 166Mhz CPU, 4mb RAM). As for Sup Forums it was very different from the other websites of the time. To cut it short, there was something raw and genuine about it, and we had loads of fun. Sup Forums was a wellspring of shit, authentic humor, nihilism, insanity and no small amount of CP. There was original content up the ass, and basically 90% of memes and viral stuff that ended up on the normie portion of the Net was born in Sup Forums. Moderation was kept at a strict minimum and mods had a sense of humor. Sup Forums was an unknown quantity for a long time. You had to find it by being a bit weird and interested in such things. Anime itself was a niche. Also, Sup Forums occassionally went offline because moot didn't have money to pay for shit, so we often joked how he stole the donation money and ran off to Mexico. More importantly we were VERY insular and hated newfags, and didn't like attention at all. The original Anonymous was a strange beast, full of claws, hate and yet with a deep understanding of himself and others. We saw through the bullshit and decided to laugh rather than weep and pretend we're upstanding, moral individuals. We raided left and right, and we did it for the lulz. There was no agenda, no goal, no true cause. It was the ultimate case of "you had to be there" because it cannot be explained. It was based around freedom, true freedom.

Also to make it a bit Sup Forums related:

Cartoon porn was the ultimate niche. As in, very few artists were into it and they were of exceedingly low quality. Saying you like (what would end up being known as) #34 would get you laughed out of basically any board and place. For instance posting or requesting cartoon porn on Sup Forums would be met with sage, insults and a possible ban. It took YEARS for #34 to become what it is now, and WWOEC was the central hub of it.

I like to think me, Tommy Simms and a few others contributed to this. During late 2006/07 we started spamming Ruby Gloom site-wide for days, and other unrelated Anons picked it up. At one point the whole of Sup Forums was nothing but Ruby Gloom spam.

Speaking of Sup Forums, the first userbase was almost exclusively lolicons and perverts. We discussed the intricacies of this or that loli without shame or bans. While porn was prohibited (blue board) any sort of comment was okay because the mods were actually a part of the Sup Forumsmmunity. Sup Forums was known for being chill. Likewise unlike today threads would, could and did go everywhere. There was no "off topic" ban bullshit. Or generals for that matter. And we didn't take ourselves or anything too seriously.

>the first userbase was almost exclusively lolicons and perverts
Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.

I remember a kid back in the 90s showing me a printout of Batman and Robin fucking Batgirl and Catwoman but either I didn't have a computer at that point or I was super paranoid about looking for porn.

I think I had a 14k modem when I started out. Christ was it ever slow. I'm spoiled by modern high speed internet now obviously, but I still remember when things were painfully slow.

Waifufaggotry really killed this site. People started taking themselves and Sup Forums too seriously.
But in the other hand I have any comic, movie, anime and TV show at my disposition at any time and without having to pay. Too bad there's no one to talk about them anymore.

Good Lord, user.

I didn't mind the snails pace. In general I think everything computer/internet related became too accessible and idiot proof, and as a result we have normies and social media up the ass. The internet today is basically TV 2.0

The latter part of your post kinda ties in with the above mentioned normie infestation.

The basic difference from back then and now is that in the old days we knew there was no purpose in "OMG will someone do something about X?!" and now we're just another worthless appendage in the great monstrosity that is activism, RL issues and other drivel.

I wonder how he feels about the seizable number of black lolicons and actual pedophiles.

joe's cartoons is an early one I remember. The blender frog thing

Anyone remember those malware-ridden aggregate sites where every thumbnail was a crapshoot at either opening a full image or linking you to a completely different site?

I remember going to my first porn site and starting a cascade of windows every time I tried to close it.

those still exist. I browse them sometimes. I usually use FoxHQ as my start point

They were amusing enough if you never expected results and didn't mind occasionally catching computer AIDS.
So, essentially the browser version of kazaa but with less cp and bill clinton impersonators.

Good Rule 34 was almost impossible to find until like 2012 or 2013.

I used to go to the wwoec Wich was like the proto rule 34 site
Sometimes I find some ancient picture from back then that someone uploaded to another site

What's a webring?

If you mean what I think you mean thise still exist.

My ancestors

Webrings are basically a bunch of web 1.0 sites with similar topics linking to each other. Considering they all stole their content from each other anyway it was kind of completely redundant.

There was this store that sold porn, Pokemon cards and all kinds of shit and the owner gave me 5 hentai magazines for free since I was buying the other 4 and he wasn't going to be able to sell them to anyone else anyways
They also had this sistem where you could buy a porn movie and then bring it back and change it for a new one for a fee
I was 14, me and my friends where always really scared of getting caught going there especially because one of the guys working there was this old dude who threatened to call the police every time he saw us

So it was proto Instagram/Reddit/Facebook?

A webring was a group of sites that linked to each other. All the sites on a webring shared a mutual theme, like for example Pokemon, or dinosaurs, or fan art, or webcomics, or whatever. People who created free little websites on Geocities or Angelfire would join webrings so that they could promote their site.
Search engines weren't as efficient back then. If you created a personal site but joined no webrings at all, it would've been very hard for anyone to even end up on your site, unless if you personally kept posting the site's URL on message boards or somewhere. Joining a popular webring was a much more effortless way to promote your website. If some person ended up on one site on a webring and liked it, there was a good chance he'd check out some of the other sites on that same webring too.

Websites could belong to multiple webrings that were applicable to the topics they discussed. Pic related, some random Disney fan's list of webrings. A lot of the images here are broken though, since webrings haven't been relevant in a while now.

I wouldn't really call it an early version of social media. People didn't necessarily communicate with those who had a site on the same webring. And the sites on webrings didn't always have a message board or a feedback form that allowed communication, anyway. E-mail, IRC or some instant messaging programs were used for online chat.

I meant it as those pages that post memes and keep kids clicking and they link them to other meme pages so they keep clicking there and so on to generate as much as revenew as they can

Anyone remember joecartoons?

Barely. A lot of the old flash animation sort of blends together into a vaguely Newgrounds flavored edgy stew.

>loudhouse fag phone poster is a kid
surprise surprise

i remember my sister playing a kitten launcher game where the cat brutally landed and blood was everywhere, it was like a flash game

it made me so fucking sad, but i remember playing it once because i liked the launching items mechanic to games and when i played it i freaked the fuck out, i realized it was fake but damn man, seeing that shit sucked

early flash games are as far back as I remember, I never used many sites, i remember youtube's old layout though, used to watch tom and jerry on it and even found the numa numa video which my mom hated, i thought maybe it was bad like cussing/nudity tier but i guess it was just annoying/retarded

Remember me?

Yea, I didn't watch it as much as my sister

Can it be that it was all so simple then?

Yep, got in trouble watching it with friends at my youth center, still did it anyway.

>12 year old me looking for Anime on the internet

>I confused "Hentai" with "Henna"

>"Weird that an anime site would have those weird indian tattoos...whatever"

>Click away

>Mother was in same room and not happy

>It is something inherent to childhood and that awkward age before you're comfortable with girls.
This. You aren't supposed to talk about it though, especially not here where there's fujos around

I searched for Digimon fansites in 2000 and inadvertently found yaoi art and fanfic in under half an hour.

When I realized it was mostly produced by women who were in their 20s or 30s it was quite a mindfuck. I remember having a lot of difficulty processing it, like my brain was trying to reject the information. I thought "who the FUCK are these people and how did they become this way?"
It wasn't just that they were making it in the first place, it was that they didn't seem to understand why anyone else thought it was weird for an adult to make pornography of cartoon children.
