OK Sup Forums, how do you fix the flash?
Hard mode: you can't replace Barry with Wally
Insane mode: you can't retcon anything and Barry must stay the flash for at least another 10 years

>Hard mode: you can't replace Barry with Wally

This isn't Hard mode, this is impossible mode.

You're never going to get an interesting comic out of Barry. The best you can do is get interesting villains like Thawne to carry an arc here or there while Barry is just there.

Barry will always be the best Flash

remove the speedforce

The best at churning out garbage to mediocre books.

This. Wally fags are delusional.

0/10. Even if Wally never existed that would just make Jay the best Flash and then Bart. No one on Sup Forums outside of the CW threads actually like NuBarry.

Do you mean his general character, or his current comics? Because the answer to the latter is sadly returning to status quo. He should also ditch Iris to find a better love interest

>Flash's Rogues move operations to Hub City to try and fly under his radar
>Barry uses his League connections to partner up with The Question as a Private Eye to locate and stop the Rogue's crimes and the various mooks that they hired
>Gimp Barry's horseshit Speedforce by being stumped by investigative work Vic usually takes care of
>Maybe after a few issues they could toss in Nightwing

The tagline could be something like "The World's Greatest Dicks"

"Worlds best dicks" that would be on my pull list

get someone who doesn't wants to write for batman so bad they make the flash a knockoff

You have absurd and unnecessary parameters for this. Flash was fine as a collection of Speedsters (albeit personally I feel they got a bit carried away once they introduced Mercury and Bart).

There's no need to replace anyone WITH anyone, nor to keep anyone from staying ANYTHING for any length of time.

Retcons are things which happen regularly with everyone. Even with one writer (albeit a crappy and unimaginative one) and a lengthy multiple year run, Invincible has retconned several things over their entire run.

>Easy making eobard thawne his father

barry accidentally lands on another earth during a battle with zoom. it's revealed that this earth is pre flashpoint dc universe. they fight some monster and then barry goes home. then some cosmic being shows up and reveals that barry created the mess that is the rebirth universe and his return during final crisis is another one of his popping in from the time stream before he died appearances.

all books revert back to pre flashpoint continuity except flash. flash is the lone book which still takes place on rebirth dc timeline. also iris allen is murdered and barry can't undo it. also the earth dies and barry is made to run through out the omniverse as "buried allen"

>Hard mode: you can't replace Barry with Wally

replace him with peter parker who gets bitten by a speedforce spider

You shut your whore mouth.

Any and all mentions of Speedforce will result in a writer getting one of their fingers cut off.

Nothing wrong with the Flash other than lackluster writing. Quit having new speedster enemies, give his non-Rogues rogues some focus, maybe a little character work to the Rogues that aren't Captain Cold, and some good character interplay between Barry, the Wallys, and the supporting cast.

10-year story line where Barry keeps seeing strange things while he's inside of the speed-force uh, zone. He notices that he's getting faster and faster, and as each issue progresses he's becoming more able, slightly stronger, slightly smarter, little by little he's experiencing new effects while in the speedforce, even when he rests, he's noticing changes.

As time goes by, there will be markers showing the reader how this is changing. First you'll be able to see trails drawn subtly on Barry, his skin is able to absorb kinetic energy to the point where he stops needing to eat or sleep or breathe, the speed-force starts getting a chromatic effect slowly becoming lighter and more varied in color. Eventually he gets even more complex control over time and can will it to run in either direction while he can drop out of it.

As the last few years of this arc approach, Barry discovers that the multiverse is withering, and as each alternate plane disappears, the remaining planes receive the speed-force of the dead ones. As things conclude, Barry becomes even more ridiculously OP to the point where his multiversal omniscience alerts him to a threat where some entity is willfully destroying these other universes. Barry must stop this being from weakening the fabric of all realities before everyone runs out of time (which will be the title of one of the mini arcs, "Running out of time"). Towards the later end, Barry will bwip out of the main universe for like 4 or so issues and come back with the knowledge of how to speed into other realities, which he uses to take on the great threat (who in turn has the combined energy of all the universes he's destroyed up til that point.).

Make it where he is slowly losing his speed with age and he can't go fast like he used to, but still has to fight crime and stuff

He sucks because he can do anything and everything. Give him a chance to fail

Phase out the Rogues. They're all fine individually, but the idea that most of the Flash's enemies have lines they won't cross and are pretty okay people sometimes makes it hard to get invested.

Have the Flash ascend to godhood as he comes to understand his powers and their logical conclusions.

In doing so have him, I dunno, get smacked down by an actual god or nearly unravel the universe or break the speed force or something.

Power him down and make it his fault. Leave the door open for him to do insane shit in the future, but make it a really big deal.

I fucking miss Jay. JSA book when?

>Power down Barry and the Speedforce--more ring-uniforms, not muh speedforce costume.
>Introduce more forensic scientist/detective/CSI stuff.
>Give background characters a bit more time on the pages like those two buddy cops from Wally's run, for example.
>Make the Rogues more affable or sympathetic. Still thieving assholes, but code-driven.
>Barry/Iris relationship bumps, but not Hal/Carol style clusterfucks. Barry is too pure to be a manwhore like Hal. (Barry/Iris is still endgame).
>Phase out niggaboo Wally to TT or out the door altogether. The amount of people who like him are minimal at best.
>Give main Wally a cameo or two in the Flash book as he tries to get his life back on track in Keystone. He dropped by in the Nightwing book a few times, he can do it in Flash.
>Bring back Jay and Joan... maybe Max.
>Bring back Bart once Barry/Iris gets under control.
>The good Professor pops in every now and then to fuck shit up when things get too good for Barry, or to twist the knife if he's in a bad spot.

What's the appeal of the affable Rogues? I've been trying to get into the Flash for a while and they just feel pretty boring.

They're organized blue collar thieves with insane weapons, yet very little ambition. More than once they've teamed up with the Flash or reformed for good for a bit.

Besides, there are others in Flash's rogue gallery that can be ruthless fucks like Grodd, nevermind Professor Zoom. They cover the spectrum of bad from "annoying jerks" to "fucking monsters".

Silver age Flash was interesting. A good writer can make any character interesting.

This. And Barry was fucking amazing in jla year one

I'd make him into a guy with endless fascination for the strange things he sees every day.

Look man, you might like SA for its cutesy whackiness but those aren't well written comics. They are intentionally awfully written comics for the sake of wondering kids. If that's your standard for a good comic then there's no good comics anymore and you're not getting any more comics like that in the future with Barry, either.

Barry's fine as this bland perfect man who has things happen to him. But he himself will never be more interesting than just being The Flash.

You can't bring back Bart in a world where Barry's the main Flash. Bart's entire schtick makes no sense.

Barry was the boring straightman in JLA Year One. Hal, Canary, and Manhunter were the interesting ones.

How about he's The Flash but instead of lightning he has GRENADES
