> They get Denis Villeneuve for a Martian Manhunter noir film set in the 1950s. > Gareth Edwards or Brad Bird direct Mos2. > It's more optimistic & hopeful & Clark is more open & less broody/indecisive. But is still more serious then the Mcu and especially the Reeves films. > Matthew Vaughn does not direct it. > If he does he is forced to make it no lighter in tone then First Class. And he Is not allowed to give us a campy villain like in his Kingsman films. People won't tolerate that after Jesse's Lex. > Mos2 is smaller scale. No Brainiac, after Kryptonians, Doomsday & Steppenwolf all in a row it's time for a villain Clark can't just punch his way through. I suggest Parasite, and have Clark get depowered for part of the film and show him run into danger to save people anyway, I think that will improve current audience perception of this Superman. >Show him teaming with Lois to do some investigative reporting. > Do not have him and Lois have any notably relationship struggles, just let them be happy & content. > Mera is not a bitch or unlikable, she is treated as a equal to Arthur like in the new 52 and is given a strong amount of screen time. > When they get around to using Cheetah, she is the main villain of the film not a lacky, she is tragic & sympathetic like in Rebirth and they do extensive flashbacks to snow Diana & Minerva bonding over mythology & archeology before she was cursed. > When they use Cheetah they have Diana tracking her through super exotic deep jungles and locations. > The rumors are not true and Thomas Bat & Martha Joke are notably present in Flashpoint.
It's odd, she was listed for a while on it, but suddenly she was removed off IMDB and such site cast list for the show, but she just very recently stated her excitement for the role which suggest it wasn't a minor one making it unlikely all her scenes would be removed from the final version which leaves the only logical option = she is the hooded kidnapper villain.
Noah Barnes
Did you even read what Johns said? They said they were all in the same universe but they'd cross over only in movies like Justice League. The individual movies won't be forced to feature cameos or connections with the others if the writer and director don't feel like it. Something like Wonder Woman without the framing device.
Nicholas Lopez
I know. And I hope they don't do that.
Adam Ross
Why not? You want shit like the emails in BvS to be shoved into every single movie?
Jose Garcia
You know what I hope? That Cyborg gets a new, simpler costume. Jesus Christ. Also the new logo sucks ass compared to this
Grayson Morales
>DCEU Hope I genuinely don't understand how this is a thing.
I mean, I guess given that Snyder is gone no matter what, I have some hope for what they do, but I feel like the most realistic scenario is if JL doesn't hit big, they just say fuck it and make nothing but Batman movies again.
Aaron Wilson
Yeah but forget the "EU" part of DCEU. It's for the best.
Jordan Murphy
Id like them to keep the details in the waist and especially the neck. BUT make the armor plates not look like freaking crumpled foil.
Nathaniel Rogers
Clark was never broody except for one scene which he gets over by climbing a mountain. And he really isnt that indecisive. He only has trouble deciding whether to turn himself over to Zod, thats basically it.
Gavin Gomez
>I genuinely don't understand how this is a thing. Some of us genuinely love some of what they have made and the potential it has. >they just say fuck it and make nothing but Batman movies again. No matter what, they will absolutely make at least 2 more Wonder Woman films. The 1st was liked alot more then The Dark Knight Rises.
Alexander King
I think that having them be solo at this point is a step backwards. The one silver lining I got out of MoS was that it was supposed to be this dawn of a new age of superhumans, and that continued in BvS with a bunch of them coming out of the woodwork. Having them not interact or be referenced in their solos makes the world small and individualized again rather than richer and fuller.
Alexander Wilson
Op here, I basically agree. I am just trying to find a middle ground between what I want and what haters of Dceu's Superman want.
Andrew Garcia
What I want from the DCEU but will never get? >A Wonder Woman sequel set in modern day, with Diana going up against both Cheetah and Giganta >A Batman movie thats about a gang war between Black Mask and The Penguin, where they rope in crazies like Clayface and Man-Bat in a winner take all bet with Batman being the final challenge >A Green Lantern Corps movie with constant planet hopping, with Hal training John and Guy as they go against Atrocitus and The Manhunters >A Flash movie where its Ocean's 11 with The Rogues, and Barry has to race around Central City saving lives while Captain Cold and company pull off the biggest score ever >A Superman sequel where its Clark and Steel vs Metallo and Atomic Skull >An Aquaman movie where its just Black Manta going full Capt Ahab and we save the Atlantis politics for a sequel. >A Cyborg movie featuring Red Tornado and The Metal Men Thats what I personally want, but I wont see it
Liam Jackson
You didn't do a very good job of that
Chase Taylor
Arrowverse becomes canon to DCEU through multiverse fun
Anthony Perry
But that's the way comics are. You don't have references to other comics in every single fucking issue. They're still part of the universe, they'll explicitly connect with it or not depending on the story the filmmakers wanna tell.
Levi Rodriguez
What I'd love but I know I'll never, ever see, would be a MoS2 that combines Metallo and Hank Henshaw into someone that was injured during one of Superman's fights and rebuilt and he has to take responsibility and gives a big speech begging for forgiveness and that he'll work to keep people from getting sucked into super fights. And the speech works and Metallow stands down but then then Luthor hacks into the cybernetics and makes him self destruct but then Superman flies him up into the air to detonate safely and he's injured in the kryptonite explosion or something.

Lets keep that cancer out of films, shall we? Although Erza Flash guest starring in the Flash show is fine I suppose
Angel King
> batman movies with more detective work. We've seen him punch the shit out of things to get out of trouble id like to see him actual sleuthing it up for once > joker redesign I think I wouldn't hate Letos joker so much if he just didn't have the fucking tats and grill. Ret con it and write it off as he wanted to return himself to a proper form Because batman is back to his usual self

That's the way some comics are. And you're welcome to that. Those comics are valid. But some of my favorite comics are the ones where stuff like pic related happens. And those scenes are valid too. Although I'm sure someone's just gonna come in and say they're "comfy autistic trash" like always happens in DCEU threads.

Yes, but you'll get the JL and other team-up movies for that. This kind of autism about continuity is what rendered the comics so mediocre, and Marvel movies are going that way too. They get so obssessed about making everything fit they actually forget to tell a story. And that's not so important in a monthly comic, but in movies which you get once in a while, it can get pretty fucking awful.
Adam Kelly
they turned aquaman into water thor
James Ortiz
You've never seen 90s Aquaman, have you?
Jacob Nguyen
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree because I don't see the appeal of copying Marvel where you just get this "where was iron man during winter soldier" thing. Go the other way. the Justice League is a family, they help each other out of jams all the time.
Daniel Watson
I like Idris Elba, but it's starting to feel like he's becoming that one The Black Guy actor. He also feels a bit too old to be a peer of Hal, though that angle might work for an adaptation. Still, there's got to be other black actors who could pull of a good John Stewart.
Austin Reyes
Cheetah > Ingrid Bolso Berdal (westworld, cold prey 1&2) Circe > Ruth Wilson (luther) Silver Swan > Rose Leslie (luther, game of thrones) Catwoman > Rebecca Hall (iron man 3)
Leo Ramirez
Being as Thor is my favorite comic character and Aquaman is my 5th, I am ok with this.
Nathan Murphy
>Renee Montoya and Question Movie >Stealth origin like 52 >Noir
and/or
>JSA movie >good
Michael Lee
Shit, I never would've thought of that Sinestro casting but I love it.
Kevin Hernandez
I'd prefer a Question show on HBO based on the Denny O'neil stuff. WB does own HBO, I don't know why they haven't taken advantage of that yet. Instead they're going to make a shitty Watchmen adaptation.
Austin Robinson
Would personally prefer Luke Evans as Sinestro. Shame we wasted Mark Strong on the first attempt
Jason Kelly
>Instead they're going to make a amazing Watchmen adaptation.
David Perez
Face looks weird.
Jaxon Torres
>Would personally prefer Luke Evans as Sinestro He seems a bit young, but still a solid choice.
Jason Campbell
Mark Strong should've been Luthor instead.
Henry Gomez
It's going to be fucking awful. How are they going to do Manhattan on an HBO budget? Also, these images you're posting are fucking cringe, go back to /reddit/.
Noah Myers
She would make a better Cheetah. Minerva is supposed to look hot prior to transformation which makes Cheetah even hotter.
Parker Morris
I don't know about Rose but Ruth has notable under bite and I find it sexy as fuck.

Jack Stewart
Adapting Watchmen is a terrible idea 100% of the time. It's like adapting Animal Man. The thing is so reliant on its medium that any adaptation is doomed from the start.
Could be cool. I think 52 would be a great blueprint for DC to start an actual universe. 52 got great reviews from people who didn't really read comics when it was running, and it was a great entry point to the universe.
I also think the stealth origin would work really well in a movie.
Justin Ortiz
>Also, these images you're posting are fucking cringe, go back to /reddit/. Consider sharing your potentially superior casting ideas instead of being a jackass? I don't think Ruth has the ferocity for Cheetah. And Ingrid my Cheetah choice is a good distance from not being hot.
Nathan Butler
>I don't think Ruth has the ferocity for Cheetah.
I disagree. And I don't think Ingrid can pull off posh archaeologist who's friends with Gal's WW.
The EU part was never offical it was just some buzzword a journalists came up with that everyone went a long with. The joker stand alone and the Shazam film should have been your first clue that dc wasn't going to only make films that fit in the same world as mos and bvs.
That would be a fucking mess and would only lead to very similar stories being told over and over again and either have major continuity issues or do the safest things in order not to fuck up continuity, just like in comics. Besides when the fuck are you gonna develop the individual characters if you have 5 of them in every single movie?
Brody Peterson
of all the designs they could've gone with....
It reminds me of how all black and white cartoon characters wore gloves so you could see different parts of their body when they overlap, or how Mario had a mustache so you can make out his face.
This design is just a weird jumble of angles and it's all one color so nothing stands out. UGH.
Ayden Smith
You seem to hate comics a lot for a guy that wants comic book movies.
Caleb King
Charlize Theron should be Selina Kyle. Hot as fuck and not younger than Bruce.
Hudson Carter
They should have used this design but with one shoulder & half arm flesh.
Tyler Wilson
First off, that statement makes no sense because most people who want supehero movies and are hyped for it, don't even read comics.
Second, I never said I wanted comic book movies.
Third, I hate big two continuity, yes, because I like quality storytelling and there's very little of it there because crossovers, events and status quo always trump proper writing. Luckily, there are a lot more comics than mainstream superhero stuff.
Gabriel Collins
He looks like a goddamned Transformers.
I mean...He CAN literally transform parts of himself, but still.
Nicholas Russell

Why him? Why not Mm?

Blame Geoff Johns and Jim Lee

Overpowered, not a real minority, with Superman being more serious in this universe It makes his gimmick of mopey lonely Alien redundant.
The idea of stand-alone, particularly Elseworlds films, particularly when they (WB) has been talking about this since before BvS came out (all the stuff about Shazam/Captain Marvel) is perfectly fine, since they are going to continue to produce movies set in a connected universe.
The idea that 'normies and casuals' can't understand that something is and isn't a shared universe is idiotic when people don't have an issue with Supergirl being on a separate Earth even now that she's on the DCW, or that Daredevil, Iron Fist can't barely say Hulk or Captain America on their shows, much less that Wade and Logan have nothing to do with the mainline Marvel movies.
B. First Class is a perfect example of Mathew Vaughn directing a far more mainstream movie which is likely the way that he would end up both needing to and having to (and if you read his interviews on the topic, wanting to) direct a movie for DC Films. Edwards sounds like a nice person to do something, I'd prefer he start with say a nice adaptation of what should be a largely inexpensive and accurate stand-alone of Busiek's Secret Identity, keeping the Ethnic Lois and all the way to the two daughters, and with a non-Cavill lead starting all the way from his teen years and being clearly sold and marketed as in an alternate universe - people accept Star Trek and Star Wars without a problem, not sure why you all think they wouldn't buy this.
I would love Bird to do something with a DC property, and I'd love him to do Superman, but not as the second stand-alone Clark film. After Tomorrowland, he's not able to write a blank check to do whatever he wants, for starters.
Ethan Morales
Where's this from? Adventures of Superman?
Chase Bailey
Nevermind found it.
Noah Baker
Name ten non-Batman villains that could carry a movie that aren't Luthor or Zod! You fucking can't!
John Reed
To be fair, they have only said they aren't going to ape shit like Civil War and Iron-Man is Spidey as though it's a vital part of the world building.
None of this means Superman can't swoop down in Aquaman 2 and stop a tanker full of waste sinking onto Atlantis. It doesn't mean Batman 2/3 can't open with Diana leaving Wayne manor after a dinner date with Bruce because Gordon triggered the signal.
It only means it will be up to the writer, and whether it's a good story decision, rather than a tickbox. And it's the tickbox mentality they are trying to avoid.
I'll be dissapointed if we never get Superman/Shazam: First Thunder. Shit would be amazing, seeing a slightly older Cavill giving Gandalf a telling off.
Adam Green
Fuck I love the DCEU so much, and everyone involved.
>great marketin-
Fuck off, those are some amazing, beautiful machines, and I that is the sort of sports car a guy keeping up a vapid playboy persona WOULD have a car company custom build.
It's just further pushing of the fact these movies are aimed at a slightly different audience. Less quipping numale and more traditional guys who love Batman, Superman, like looking at Wonder Womans legs, and awesome cars and gadgets. It's all so comfy.
