To be fair

The best example. If you were follow the threads back at Jail Break or Ocean Gem, Sup Forums seemed to have the hardest hard-on for SU

That's most TV shows. Colorful horse show and Steven Universe immediately come to mind. I fear Bojack is heading that way too, as the shitposting for Rick and Morty has been bleeding in.

The one thing I will give, is this season definitely felt weaker than the previous and I don't really see too many people claiming the show was shit from the beginning.

Samurai Jack

They alternate between saying season five was unwatchable and saying that the entire original was boring anyway

Literally everything that has ever become popular when it wasn't before.

Season five was imperfect but perfectly fine imo. I never held the original to a very high standard. I walked away very happy with the series.

>I fear Bojack is heading that way too
This weekend the popular town bicycle girl from my college class snapchatted a photo of herself watching Bojack and this immediately came to mind.

It seems to be a very vocal minority that spams the "HURR DURR NEVVUR WAS GUD I SUCK COCK" stance anyway

Doesn't help that the vast majority are arbitrarily pissy /v.irgin crossboarders anyway. Any time you see it mentioned on Sup Forums, they throw shitfits that sound exactly like what we've been having here.

Type moon
Jojo

Call me a hipster but the Nu-Jojo fanbase completely ravaged the community and made me despise the series itself.

>thing gets popular
>Sup Forums likes it
>"yeah it's cool"
>year and more later it's being spammed on the board
>already there's 3 RnM topic threads on page 1 and you faggots can't even stick to one
>people are sick of seeing RnM
>RnM gets top priority over Samurai Jack despite the fan response it got
>people want to discuss other shit but redditors want to discuss their back to the future fan fiction more
>"HAHA Sup Forums ARE JUST CONTRARIANS THEY DON'T LIKE THINGS THAT ARE POPULAR PICKLE RICK WHERE'S MY MULAN SAUCE HAHA"

Do you cunts realize how annoying this is? There should be a containment board for you just like there is for MLP.

This. Jesus fuck, once something becomes mainstream, the fandom turns it to shit. The Jojo fanbase is a prime example of this.

Are you saying R&M S3 was even close to S1? There was like 2 episodes about Rick and Morty adventures, the rest felt like a fucking family sitcom with sci-fi stuff.

That's because the show was actually good during season one

it's usually Sup Forums hating something because it got popular but this user is right the fanbase and the show itself has gotten worse
compare season 3 to season 1 and you will notice the difference

The vast majority are threads mocking it or complaining about it. The spam on the board is all from haters and autists who want to get people riled up.

I really wish you all would shut up about the show you don't like. I've heard the same complaints a hundred times now, I've seen the mockery done the same again and again. I get your points, I get that you don't like it. Now shut up and let the board unclog itself of your shittery. If some people like the show and want to post about it, don't respond by throwing a fit and spamming the thread then the board with your autistic Sup Forumsntrarian rage.

also Rick now cares for Beth,Jeryy and Summer in season 3
in season 1 he left them to die in a different dimension

PS: I don't actually care about the show enough to post a thread hating on it or liking it either way, but I just want you all to shut up about it at this rate. Yeah, fans went and sperged out at McDonalds. No need to continue the circle-jerk; nobody's disagreeing with you on it.

This is a perfect example of Sup Forums right now. You faggots think kids liking cartoons is wrong just because you don't like them. I'm not talking about you faggots thinking S1 is the best, or criticizing shit like the psychologist speech, I'm talking about you hating kids who like cartoons and hating cartoons that kids like. What the fuck happened to your love for comics and cartoons, Sup Forums?

Honestly I found season five to be largely unnecessary. The whole formula of Samurai Jack didn't warrant such a concrete conclusion.

>There should be a containment board for you just like there is for MLP
I agree. How do we make that happen?

While Rick and Morty fans are cancer but Sup Forums has a different problem entirely and its with the hatedom.

For the past several weeks we've had five Rick and Morty threads a day, and today isn't an exception. Every single one of those threads has basically been "Rick and Morty is shit, people who like it are shit" which is a fine opinion, but we get this thread every single fucking day. If you think Rick and Morty has ruined conventions or reddit or other websites you'd be right but Sup Forums has this autistic belief that the only way to stop cancer is with more cancer.

>popular town bicycle girl
A slut or a cyclist?

I really hate people like that because it makes people like me who actually DID hate it from the start look like contrarian hipsters

Yeah man, I hated it before it was cool. So annoying that it's now popular to hate it.

First half of season one was boring, the fanbase exploaded of there JailBreak tho

>The vast majority
Nigga what the fuck are you on?
The vast majority are discussing how it became popular, reusing the same pickle rick meme or some thread about an episode on how Rick's an asshole and Jerry's the good guy in the series because most people who get into RnM and discuss it on imageboards are pathetic incels.
It's a dead horse enough as it is on Sup Forums and there's still people trying to compare the seasons as if that hasn't been done a thousand times over.

Horse Show. I was never really into it, but I've never seen my friends do a 180 so fast over anything in their entire lives. One day they're sending me memes of ponies wearing shutter shades and smoking weed like it's the funniest thing in the world, the next day they're getting legit angry at me for bringing up the time they were into the show, and calling anyone who likes it horrible piece of shit human beings. It was incredibly fascinating.

>rick and morty damage control squad
you guys are pathetic

But Sup Forums never liked SU, for a good reason.

The pacing is fucking ass and the show fails miserably at trying to be "story-driven" by having >70% filler episodes.

Man I hated hating that people hate things that are popular first and now everyone's doing it.

I'm glad I never really interacted with Jojo fans. Every once in a while I get a glimpse of it and it makes me sad, but for the most part I find them easy to ignore.

...

Bojack is too depressing to truly ever catch on. Rick and Morty has some sad moments but it's always been a comedy first and balances out the drama with intense stupidity.

Things that unapologetically focus on the shitty things in life rarely catch on by nerd culture because it makes people uncomfortable. Sure lots of Rick and Morty fans like the joke that "lol I'm depressed" like Rick but the show never truly touches upon that soul crushing feeling. Because people don't actually WANT to feel that feeling, as much as they claim they do. This is also why Lisa and Moral Orel never caught on either.

Bojack could be popular, and it slowly is, but it'll never have a "nerd" following. Everyone wants to be Rick, but no one would ever want to be Bojack.

I hate this. I hate this so much.
You don't realize how much I hate this.

There is a difference between saying something has a bad fanbase and pretending a show has always been bad.

this is really pathetic or really good bait

I for one welcomed the death of mainstream horse fuckers grasp on internet culture.

Shit wasn't funny and it got creepy way too fast, heck some communities never recovered.

Sup Forums related but
Undertale
Half-life 2
Five Nights at Freddies

>but no one would ever want to be Bojack.
We can all be Mr. Peanutbutter

it exists, it's called reddit

Change the blue and red and this is accurate.

Half Life 2 was always extremely popular, where have you been?

Optimism isn't cool to teenagers and introverts with unearned large egos.

youtube.com/watch?v=CPRmhqxERGc

what was so bad about Undertale that so many people turned against it?
a bunch of people drew porn of the fat skeleton, so what

I have literally never heard of R&M until Sup Forums started spamming pickle rick and that dumb IQ copypasta on every fucking board and the mods endorsed it. Now because of the sauce happening everyone has done a complete 180. Every single time people bring it up, it gets shot down with shitposts that drown out the actual discussion 9 times out of 10.
And no I don't frequent Sup Forums or Sup Forums.

we started hating Rick and Morty way before the sauce incident

Same thing as with the horsefuckers, things got into weird creepy pedo territory when people started making porn of the child main character.

Let's be real for a moment: the very idea of "fandom" is cancerous.

On rare occasions, the tumor is benign.

reddit and game journalists started giving it more praise then it deserved
then the fanbase got really autistic

Everything.

Sup Forumsntrarian is a thing for a reason

>some communities never recovered
Case in point, this site.

>once something becomes mainstream, the fandom turns it to shit

t. closet hipster

you're not wrong though.

which one

Or something becomes mainstream, makes bigger money with newer fanbase , creators then chase the money of that newer fanbase by shitting on the original charm

See: fate series

>pretending
Look up "szechuan sauce" on youtube within the last week and rethink your shitty bait.

or Fire Emblem. Fuck Awakening.

Sup Forums doesn't even admit to liking fucking comic books. Where do you think you are? Somewhere reasonable?

The entire internet hasn't recovered since the web itself became super mainstream in 2012. In the old farts in the whitehouse are shitposting memes now. moot was a smart motherfucker abandoning this shithole

LOOK! I'M A DEAD MEME MORTY!

>Before SJ Season 5: Sup Forums likes it.
>After Samurai Jack's final season where he finally gets back to the past after all these years, and slain Aku one and for all... Shits on the entire thing, because Ashi. That, but also quite rushed.

I got into it through mugen in the early 2000s, you could download the CPS3 fighting game versions, and they seemed so weird, I started reading.

The sad thing is, I thought I could talk to these new people about Jojo, but you can't at all.

Well for one the game is massively overrated. The fanbase calls it one of the best RPGs ever made yet all we got was a neutered bullet hell. If you play the pacifist route and don't like any of the characters, it makes for a very boring date simulator with the occasional puzzle to solve. It got brownie points from tumblr for having a lesbian couple, an non-binary protagonist and a stupid meme skeleton, along with being "dark" so tumblrites can talk about how it edgy it can be, much like how Steven Universe and Star vs. is so popular on there.

Is there some cool things? Yeah, the soundtrack is great, I like the character designs and there's a funny line of dialogue here or there. NPCs being aware of when you get a game over is pretty cool too. But outside of that there's nothing to gush about, it's shit.

any of them

>typing yall on twitter
discarded.jpeg

...

I've noticed the people who make the rick and morty fandom look like an embarrassment look exactly like the people who a decade ago did the same with doctor who. You've got the tattooed hipster-nerds and dumb teens both.

I think it's just a type of person that is really obnoxious about something that they watch that they get a little too into, making other people not like it even if they liked it before.

Then you have the shitty fandoms out there for weirder types, but when you look at them it's all the same people just migrating from one flavor of the year meme thing to the next. Homestuck, undertale, steven universe, etc. All known for shitty fandoms, but it's always the same people and whether they migrate to a media seems kind of arbitrary.

tl;dr: it's not the shows and shit. It's just certain types of terrible people who latch onto shows and fandoms like a fungus.

They're being ironic, it's different.

Jail break decives you in the idea the plot was going to move forward. It was before peridot becoming a meme. and the farm.

>Le random chart to show how smart I am
You have to go back

S3 is normified garbage. only the citadel rebuild episode was great
> trying to make Rick care
>Thecreator wrote his divorce in as the season main focus
>female writers who focus on emotional depth over scifi adventures and jokes
It's dead and will never ever comeback

Does Game of Thrones count? I ironically think it's too mainstream to hit that "incredibly mainstream but still mostly consumed by nerd culture" line where all the real shit goes.

Like Breaking Bad was extremely popular but I don't ever recall it having an autistic fanbase of this caliber.

Oh Jesus fuck no Fooly Cooly is gonna be fucking cancer with it’s new fan base

Reddit and Morty democrats licking Sezchuan sauce off the parking lot pavement that someone stepped on with their boots

youtube.com/watch?v=fF0ReXhNzbc

>Overwatch shirt
>Guy in a suit trying to be "classy"
>Girl with cat ear headphones
>a literal child
Oh God all the stereotypes are true

It's worse in reverse
>It becomes cool to hate thing
>FUCKING HATERS, LITERALLY WORSE THAN THE FANS
I fell bad for the user's who legitimately hated TTG, now they are accused of being drones infleunced by Mr.enter.

jojo is the only one that doesnt bother me. The fanbase is pretty self aware of how cancerous it can be. That being said I'll never go on a Jojo general again, or any general for that matter.

Nerd culture was a mistake

I really hope the JoJo fandom stays where it's at, I think if it gets oversaturated it'll ruin the magic.

What, you don't want to read "gay priest is here" for the 9 billionth time?

I genuinely never liked R&M, though. I watched the first episode and found it extremely unpleasant. It's like sitting next to someone with really bad breath.

We did like it. Then it went downhill and we stopped liking it. First season is still good.

>gay priest is here
holy shit they still say that?

Gappy makes me happy

STOP

WHY DO THEY DO THIS

I fucking hate what JoJo fanbase is nowdays. I mean sure we had memes back then too but for fuck sake it wasnt this bad. Sup Forums was right animeonly-fags ruin everything especially threads

But it already is that. There is no magic like it used to be before anime

Pretty much anything that gets a second season. On the flip side there are things shit all during their first season because people didn't actually watch it and by the time the second comes around so many people have and everyone pretends it was never hated but a bunch of them are clearly just following the bandwagon.

There are still people who use "For You!" Some shit won't die because people will not let it.

Horse Show was the crowning example of this, especially if we want to talk about the fucking analysist community.
>tfw digibro deleted all trace of his MLP videos, but forgot to change his channels URL so it still reads digibrony

This fuckin Hot head over here

Marvel comics

Yup that's how it is. Originally it being manga only and having a terrible translation was a huge buffer from all the retards.

>implying anyone thinks Type Moon shit was ever good
I dread for humanity if anyone likes that drivel unironically.

This reminds me of the videos of Homestuck fans spitting into buckets while being in public spaces.

Excuse my lack if grammar

I did love rick and morty but we gave it so much hype as this underrated show that not everyone likes to the point when everyone did like it they thought they were special because they still believed it's still underrated we did this we hyped thr show too much that it became like this and now we don't know who to blame

>they're being ironic
Where do you draw the line?
Some people travelled cross country and/or waited upwards of 24 hours for a fucking sauce packet at McDonald's. And others spent upwards of 150 dollars for the packers on eBay because they were too impatient to wait for McDonald's to announce(literally the following day) that they are gonna bring back more sauce in a month.
Ironoc shitposting/meming reaches a point where it stops being ironic if you dedicate that much time, energy and money to something. Which a countless amount of people did on saturday

Not everything has to be fucking shakespeare to be fun, faggot

Tsukihime and Fate/Stay were good
