I personally don't feel happy supporting a "White identity". It's like saying "Instead of animals, we should be focusing on humanity". While it sounds right, it's going from top to bottom, and that approach is not as good as a bottom up. For example, I could say "Instead of focusing on humanity, we should focus on white people", or I could say "Instead of focusing on ethnic identity, we should focus on white identity".. I look at it from a bottom up approach, and that makes me see whiteness on a negative level, because it's like saying "We've given up on ethnic identity, and are now stuck defending whiteness altogether".
