She is definitely not a QT.

Also annons I got a bad feeling about this volume

First two minutes. GET IT WHILE IT'S HOT (and not taken down because someone might snitch)

Don't worry. I'm downloading everything. Will post it again once those get deleted.

...Cardboard citizens...

Anyone go see the premiere? How was it?

Yeah, it's a little unfortunate they did that. It makes me worry that they don't have a lot of stuff 'polished'. Also from the opening, why do they keep making Blake use her sword as if she were a knight? I don't think they showed her normal fighting stance at all in volume 4 (pic related). They also keep using her semblance as more of a Naruto-clone style and not momentum shifts and feints like in the earlier volumes. I miss Dillon...

And like a moron i forgot the gif.

Weird... It was very active but as soon as the thread closed, everyone just vanished. No new threads or anything.

I hear the M3u8 method won't work anymore. Now how will I watch the episodes? P-pay!?

>They never even finished episode 1.
>Put pictures in place of the planned sequence so they could premiere on time

Wouldn't be surprised.

outstanding.

A reminder that alternate Jaune got alternate Pyrrah after much shenanigans.

>still frames with voice over in the first episode
Wew, looking promising already.

>No Grimm in the OP

That's a first.

Still works in cellphone. Also, the RT/RWBY threads download the episodes in HD on the same day these get released so you just have to visit their threads and get the links.

Weiss is nice.

Do one of them die in Blazblue?

Pitty she kind of just dropped the ball as time goes on

Both died at several points. It gets better at Central Fiction.

Rip. Do they at least have a happy ending together.

dropped the ball how?

Just got less compelling as a character. Her racism got solved in an episode, her side plot just kind of sucks (Whitley and Jaques are really shitty villians), and she just kind of devolved into a kind of crummy tsundere

Packed. Fun. Commentary was annoying as fuck.

How was the first episode

I can see that. I can agree that we definitely don't have enough information about Whitley and Jacques and they seem to be really flat antagonist characters, but hopefully getting away from them we see Weiss get some development.

Good. Visuals were turned up a notch. Some funny scenes.

Sorta. NOL still stands and no longer do they have to worry about fuckery involving snakes. For now.

Lots of stuff happened all four girls plot lines got set up
Blake's plan is for her parents to publically renounce the White Fang while she routs out the corruption

Yang didn't take a turn towards mistral to find Ruby she went down the Bandit route and is chasing her mother

Weiss is on her way to Mistral when she overhears a distress call about Grimm killing people and wants to help, Pliot bro stops her with a logical argument

Ruby and co meet the Haven headmaster and learn some more things about the maidens and what they're for and that the Spring maiden abandoned her post years ago and is now ravaging towns with Raven. They meet Oscar at the end of the episode.

>Actively avoiding her plotline is a good thing

I see. Well we will have to see where this go. I am sad that looks like we aren’t gonna be exploring Mistral much.

Blakes plot can go die in a fire

Yang... honestly I feel like I cant comment on Yang because her fanbase has ruined her for me

Weiss. As long as its not invloving Whitley or Jaques its good one me

I'd be mad that Yang is doing this but only if she wasn't upfront with her father about this, if she lied to him then I'm going to be mad. The dude already has suffered so much

>tfw Pyrrha was originally supposed to do way better against Cinder
>tfw Pyrrha was meant to die taking an arrow meant for Jaune
>tfw M&K changed it because they were afraid the fans would hate Jaune even more for getting her killed

Fucking goddammit. We could have had Jaune unlocking his semblance via trauma from Pyrrha's death. We could have had him and his likely OP as fuck semblance be responsible for disfiguring Cinder and fucking up the Dragon. We could have had Jaune on the motherfucking warpath in V4, with Ruby, Ren and Nora trying to keep him from going full NUCLEAR and WILD.

V4 could have had a much more compelling story coming off the heels of a finale like that, but NOPE, we got that snoozefest. Sure, people probably would have complained even more about Jaune's screentime, but I think him suffering more and being on the edge of going the PUNISHED ARC route would have more people wanting to see where that would go.

Even if it went the way they originally planned, pretty much all of the stuff you said there still wouldn't have happened

A MAN CAN DREAM, DAMMIT.

Not here you can't!

I can already predict that RNJR+ Q&O are going to fight/distract Raven which allows Cinder to take down Spring. Or maybe Yang.

Either way, they can't really end the volume without Cinder killing her off or the story would never move forward and she'd have to be always guarded. Kinda like Piccolo was.

Friend shared this link with me, can confirm it works, decent enough quality. Just have to put up with some Americlapping.

anonfile.com(slash)mb74G5c4bb(slash)RWBY__S5-E1__Welcome_To_Haven__camrip_.mp4

You know damn well M & K can asspull whenever the fuck they feel like it. If they were gonna transfer Fall's aura into Pyrrha who knows what other bullshit they can make so that the spring maiden doesn't end up dying.

I'm still waiting on Whitley actually DOING something to be considered a villain.
Weiss implies he somehow manipulated it so he'd become the heir, when all he's done was smile and wave as Weiss lost it herself on that trophy wife and ruined her prospects of inheriting.
Like he's going to backstab both his dad and Ironwood and take over Atlas or something.

can someone confirm?

Whitley was right about everything.

nice virus

You in the mood for some Dolphin porn?

Y-you do it. I'm scared.

...

I don't think the maidensnatching will go perfectly for Cinder every time. Spring could get her shit together and join Ozpin, or die in a way that doesn't transfer the power to her/her allies.

nice try shilling your virus user

WAIT FOR IT

I'm grabbing it right now on my Linux box. Unless someone is dumb enough to try and shill a virus for an OS no one uses on Sup Forums, I'll be fine.

>trying this hard to shill your Trojan
user stop your autism is leaking

Spring Maiden QT status: NO

Is it safe to come out now?

Nah, that would have been too fucking cheesy and would have set the bar a bit too high. Monty/Miles/Kerry didn't plan for Jaune to go warpath or Ren and Nora to go NUCLEAR and WILD.

It's sad, and it really concerns me - I want Jaune, Ren and Nora to be good characters and they have that potential, but they're going down such an unoriginal path right now...

I mean either they bring Pyrrha back for drama and eldirch shenanigans or Jaune Ren and Nora just become minions that follow RWBY around and act as cronies.

I wish I didn't see it that way, but that's how I'm starting to see it. JNR is looking more and more dependent and don't have anything going for themselves. They're becoming boring props.

>I mean either they bring Pyrrha back for drama and eldirch shenanigans
Jaune fighting Grimm!Pyrrha when?

It has to be teased and built up. Right now Jaune's skill is fucking atrocious and I have no confidence in his fighting ability. I don't even know how Monty would be able to make him fight like a badass.

I'd really like to believe in it, but first I need to see it done.

And for the record, nobody really can complain if Pyrrha comes back to life. Ozpin dodged death and his return was confirmed in the first episode of Volume 4. Y'all can't be saying that Pyrrha has to stay dead to save the threat of death - shit's already been revoked and it will again once Penny V2 arrives.

Pyrrha alone doesn't do jack squat for the "threat of death" or it's realism.

That Jaune needs a beard

Still hoping that Jaune eventually gets so sick Ozpins shit he pulls a Raven. And lives out his days dismantling the Ozilumanti

>Pyrrha comes back
>Jaune has to put her down
>her death at his hands frees her and lets him move on
would be the final sinking of the Arkos after giving it a brief chance of resurfacing.

He needs a beard and needs to trade that half plate for linnens. Preferably with a nice green cloak.... Fuck it make him look like Eder from Pillars of Eternity

>Ozpin dodged death and his return was confirmed in the first episode of Volume 4.
Ozpin has been cryptic and we assumed him more powerful than he lets on since early on, especially with him being Oz, him coming back was no real surprise.
Penny is a robot, robots get rebuilt.
Pyrrha was not an ancient wizard or a robot, she was an ordinary huntress

Ozpin is a wizard and Penny is a robot. Pyrrha is just another huntress.

He needs to be a bit rugged. 5 o'clock shadow, and some faint faint scarring.

I want that dynamic but I want Jaune to be more of a Qrow. He's disillusioned but he's not going to turn his back on his friends.

I don't think Final-Fantasy Monty would do that but fuck if I know.

this is how V5 ep1 feels.

you are being strapped into a roller coaster ride and you know its gonna be a bumpy ride. But the chair you are in is really comfy and the person strapping you into the ride is really attractive and you see that you are in for a wild ride and you are just like this is ok.

I dont like this description, it feels like a lie.

Oh so there are special cases that avoid death now?

So why am I supposed to be worried for our protagonists again? They're just as 'special' as Ozpin and Penny at this point.

funny enough he fights better in the game than he does in the show. Not as super agile as everyone else, but gets the job done.

I will say this the polish is there i have a few issues with it but i wasn't really offended with anything.

Ozpin is some mysterious ancient wizard and Penny was a robot, none of the other protagonists share these special traits, except Oscar sorta

I dont think he would ever betray Ruby hell I think even if he turned tail he would offer up his sword for her to stab him then and there. What i think it would be something of a conflict no one knows how to solve... hes right but at the same time she is too. But they got to do what they gotta do. Maybe they will talk it out, maybe theyll die. But they gotta go the remant way of makin heir own paths

I so want him to become some Dark Souls badass - but he needs to earn that skill and broken-ness.

All of his 'growth' and he still looks miles (heh) behind everyone, and that's not even considering villains.

If exceptions can be made I'm sure exceptions can be made, that's all I'm saying.

Maybe Salem's an evil witch that can bring back people as grimm, maybe the God-made-Macgauffin can bring people back to life.

Magic exists and death has been escaped in the RWBY universe. It's completely possible that Pyrrha could come back to life and you can bitch about how it was done, but you can't say it devalued death.

The issue is I dont think we could resonably get that growth without a timeskip.

Maybe if the writers figure out tactics he can go the Keneku route

I think the issue with Jaune being the tactics guy, is to write a smart strategic type character, the writers would have to at least know some basic shit about it.
M&K try, but they clearly aren't grand strategy gamers. Like so far Jaune's master plans have been classics like "Hit it harder!" and "run around it!"

I do wonder if Qrow's line about maiden power transferring ("regardless, their souls become combined, in a way") will be significant. Of course, Pyrrha didn't lose her entire soul when she stepped into the transfer machine since she still fought Cinder with her semblance, but I wonder if there's still some of her aura that went into Amber, then to Cinder. Then there's also the fact that Jaune's aura was unlocked by Pyrrha. Obviously there's some bias because I liked Pyrrha, but I feel like it wouldn't be too far-fetched to have her come back somehow without it taking away the "death will have no meaning" that people fear would become of it.

If she was living in Cinder's head I think we would've seen something at least hinting at it in v4. And if unlocking Jaune's aura gave him a functional piece of her, wouldn't that mean everyone has a piece of whoever unlocked their auras too?

Ironwood will die. He won't come back.

Winter will die. She won't come back.

Qrow will die. He won't come back.

If any of these three survive and don't die, I will eat a sock. Screencap this.

So what if Pyrrha comes back? It's not going to save these people.

I'm guessing Weiss had the most focus during the premiere?

Nah, RNJR

Ruby > Blake > Yang > Weiss

Amount of focus

>Blake gets the second most amount of screentime
>Weiss is at the bottom
This is acceptable to me

I do like oscar now that there's thing for him to do. The op gave me made Naturo opening feels again When they picked up their weapons. The whole voice over anime still pictures was lame.

If it makes you feel any better, it seems the next episode will be focused on Weiss vs BEEEEEEES (rapierwasps I believe).

Do you think anybody is gonna get "character development" this volume?

Nah, this is RWBY, nobody ever really changes.

.... good god Yang looks hot with short hair. Which is impressive, unfortunately it makes her look even more like a dyke

Me and a friend went. It was fun even if most of the time was them playing the last 3 episodes of volume 4 plus the Weiss/Blake shorts with some Miles/Kerry/Gray commentary. I only had two issues with the episode itself, those being them showing off Mistral's people as those shitty still images and Yang suddenly going after Raven despite seemingly going after Ruby at the end of volume 4. I don't really mind the second one, the switch just threw me off a bit. Episode itself was decent and the new opening is great. Drunk Qrow was the highlight of the episode for me.

Oscar, hopefully. Maybe we'll see more from the villains

Blake will get significant character developerment and then completely regress just in time for the next volume.

As usual.

Also, as if there was any doubt. Watts is pretty much confirmed to be behind Cinder's virus, the exact same fancy W from Cinder's ipad showed up when he called Leo, toss out you crazy theories about Winter or Whitley being secret traitors

I cant believe there are people who honestly thought that Whitley was behind the virus

I liked the switch. The whole volume 4 some people including myself wanted Yang to grow into her own character and have her own arc that wasn't Ruby. Btfo some tumblr people who wanted her to go after her sister.

Although to be fair on them, what RT did was a huge dick move and really shouldn't have been done. They shouldn't backtrack in their narrative even if it was just to set up this silly surprise.

I'm mildly okay with it.

>People who think Jaune would ever do something that could even remotely hurt or betray Ruby.

I'm starting to think when faced with obvious "twists" people like to come up with crazy bullshit just so they can pretend anything is ever a surprise in this show. Like when Raven firt show up and people came up with crazy shit just because they didn't want to admit it's obviously Yang's mom

>People who think Jaune would ever do something

Its been 4 volumes I think its time to give up

what are your thoughts on this cat

I think my biggest annoyance with season 3 was that Pyrrha died for nothing. I mean it. Pyrrha's death did nothing to contribute to the overall evacuation of beacon, it did nothing to stop cinder, it didn't even save a life. Her defeat didn't actually live up to her name either, she didn't inflict any crippling damage to Cinder, that was Ruby's doing with her silver bullshit. Pyrrha's death may have helped Jaune become strong but I don't think it was as impactful on Jaune as it could've been. while I haven't watched all 4 season 17 times over I can't quite recall any powerful interactions with Ruby and Pyrrha, thus it made the whole silver eyes do cry thing feel a bit hollow.

With this being said

>Students of beacon are trying to hold off the Grim while civilians escape,
>Grim are slaughtering people all over the place.
>One grim pounces on some poor bastard and is about kill him when suddenly gold and red spear is lodged straight into the Grim's skull
>Pyrrha runs in to retrieve the spear as the grim slowly fades away, she leaps over the Grim's decaying body and begins to slice through several more grim on the other side. saving several civilians in the process.
>Jaune struggles to hold his own against grim before he is saved by Pyrrha who gives him a few words of encouragement which only strengthen his resolve to protect people, they run off the hold off more of the grim.
>Weiss, Ren, Nora, Neptune and Velvet Make quick work of the grim in their area and begin to help with the evacuation process.
>Glynda, Ironwood, Jaune and Pyrrha regroup with them. Glynda, and Ironwood tell them to continue with the evacuation efforts while they go check to make sure something hasn't been lost. (the artifact)
>RWBY Judgement day happens, allow for the Weiss's mech battle to happen along with velvet.
>that group is dealing with terminators.
>Ruby realizes whats going on, goes to fight roman.

>was that Pyrrha died for nothing
That was kind of the point.

I want to have high hopes but I'm bitter and cynical

This dogshit is the actual reason why Jaune wasn't the reason why Pyrrha died.

Because Pyrrha dying in front of Jaune would have made Cinder Jaune's enemy.

Have you noticed how, despite the fact that Jaune is dealing with his grief over Pyrrha, Cinder is explictly after Ruby. And Ruby is going to fuck Cinder the fuck up?

They didn't want that quest to be Jaune's. Because they actually are trying to backtrack on how much attention he got.

Also beyond that. If Jaune was in the same room as Pyrrha fighting Cinder and Pyrrha was winning Jaune would leap out the fucking window to get the fuck out the way.

Jaune is many things and flawed in many ways but he is hilariously frank about himself and his abilities.

Well, her death did trigger the silver eyes. If she was fine Cinder or the dragon might've been able to just kill Ruby, or at best she would have escaped with Pyrrha, leaving Cinder unharmed and free to do whatever she was planning with the dragon.
