DuckTales has jumped the shark

io9.gizmodo.com/meet-mark-beaks-ducktales-new-tech-bro-villain-1819450453

OK, this clip has officially killed my interest in this show. They're going full PPG 2016 with this character and I hate it.

LOOK HE'S ON THE SOCIAL MEDIAS KIDS, MEMES AND AIRHORNS, SO RELATABLE, RIGHT?

I'm guessing there's a reason they waited until episode 7 to introduce this guy. They knew no-one would want to watch after he appeared. Bait and switch.

>I'm guessing there's a reason they waited until episode 7 to introduce this guy. They knew no-one would want to watch after he appeared. Bait and switch.

Yeah, that's why they totally hid the reveal in every cast press release and interview they did in the 6 months before the show aired.

>Mark Zuckerberg expy is an annoying fuck
I don't see anything wrong with this.

more like cucktales am i right?

I still say they missed a trick not calling him ' Mark Duckerberg.'

WOO HOO!

But they are teaching kids that he is literally the devil himself he's is depicted as a villain for gods sake this is good

They need to hire you.

Probably too obvious and might break some parodying law or whatever weird stuff. Not worth dealing with it.

They did want to. But legal told them not to.

Isn't he a villain?

I'm so happy his political aspirations are being ruined before he even has a chance to run.

I cringed but maybe I’m just old.

The show was shit from the beginning.

No, cringe is the intended response here. Or at least I hope so because if they're trying to pass him off as sincere then I'm done

Haha, hello humans! Fellow humans I mean, since I'm just like you. Vote for me in the next election for your leader, whatever his title may be (I'm aloof and hip like you haha). Please forget that I stole and sold your private information.

is there anything that doesn't spurg out Sup Forums, this clip is inoffensive to anyone that not autistic.

How can one person be so wrong?

First of all, we've known about this guy for months, they didn't just drop him on us. Second, he's a fucking villain. You're supposed to find him annoying the same way Scrooge does. He's a parody of young tech billionaires like Mark Zuckerberg who are obsessed with social media. Third, they didn't wait until episode 7, the episode order was messed up by Disney XD.

I like him based on this clip desu.

You goons have to accept that social media/tech is a fact of modern life and as such will factor into the media that is produced.

So they introduced a new big money douchebag that's actually up to date and did a decent job making the type out to be the fuck wads they are

What's the big deal

>third, they didn't wait until episode 7, the episode order was messed up by Disney XD

They did. 7 is the intended position of the Mark Beaks episode according to Frank Angones

But he's a villain and intentionally annoying instead of gratifying that kind of behavior

>is there anything that doesn't spurg out Sup Forums

Now he only needs to be a clueless SJW as well.

youtube.com/watch?v=gCAVzDqF55U

>linking to gawker

Okay, yes, thats pretty annoying, but the idea of a young new billionare clashing with the old ones is actually interesting. It can show a dynamic of whos the bigger villain, the old bastard billionare who follows an old way of thinking, or the modern young asshole billionare who follows the new ways.
Watch dogs 2 pulled of the modern cellphone millionare villain kinda well. Maybe ducktales can do it too

He's being portrayed as the bad guy and as an annoying person, stop being autistic.

>LOOK HE'S ON THE SOCIAL MEDIAS KIDS, MEMES AND AIRHORNS, SO RELATABLE, RIGHT?

Jesus tap-dancing christ are you pretending to be stupid or does it just come naturally?

That would require a level of wit and sophistication that I don't think Disney is allowing the writers to employ. Gotta get the kiddies in, can't be boring them with social commentary

DAMN KIDS AND THEIR SMART APPS AND I DROIDS!

BACK IN MY DAD, WE USED WALKMANS AND WE PHONOGRAPHS AND WE LIKED IT!

Hopefully he'll have shtoyle.

I'm sure many people were in your dad's back

>back in my dad

Shit, sperm civilisation sounds incredible

I cringed and I turned 18 three months ago

ok autist

...

Another clip from the Mark Beaks episode.

youtube.com/watch?v=XTOCSTE0Swk

OK, that looks a little better

"Waddle" is obviously a reference to Google, but it does sound like some kind of app or service that could exist. They have the stupidest names and very few of them seem to be descriptive of what they are used for. (off the top of my head I can name only Snapchat, everything else is something stupid like Twitter, Tinder or tumblr).

He's being portrayed as a villain, he's even running alongside the other villains in the opening theme.

He's supposed to be insufferable, annoying, and evil. He's so bad that Scrooge and Glomgold team up just to take him down. If you hate him, that's the point. Jesus christ people.

>io9.gizmodo.com/meet-mark-beaks-ducktales-new-tech-bro-villain-1819450453

Anyone has always to complain about shit like that because "MY CARTOONS", speial snowflake syndrom (aka autism) or because they think they are trolling this way.

Suck it up.

>he's even running alongside the other villains in the opening theme
His eyes never leaving his phone the whole time.

Cucktales, woo-oo

Waze

It's almost as if you're not their target audience you fucking manchild. Our opinions on this are secondary to children between the ages of 8 and 12.

People who are smart enough to make bank aren't dumb enough to ACTUALLY be SJW. They might pretend for public support but they don't actually give a shit,

I bet you're the type of guy who complains about celebrity parodies and references in modern cartoons and thinks that it's never been a thing until now.

I mean, holy shit. Complaining about a cartoon portraying modern culture? How autistic can you get?

I think the main issue is this is a reboot of a classic beloved series whose characters are ingrained into popular culture (and have been for decades). You don't just drastically retool all of that and get away with it scott-free. This is a lot of people's childhoods they're fucking with, so they'd better make DAMN sure they do it right.

Adding memes and smartphone culture could be seen as sullying that legacy. That's all.

Right.

Ten bucks says Beaks's real self will be EXACTLY like that. If they're really gutsy they'll use the, "People just GAVE me their phone numbers because I asked them to! Idiots." quote.

I dig it, he's like Gladstone for Scrooge and Glomgold. Look at their hate move from each other directly to him.

Not really. You seem to want a remaster rather than an actually NEW series.

When you consider your 'childhood' tied to a cartoon seeing a reboot of said show have a cell phone in it triggers you, then you need to rethink your priorities.

user, I think you have prime autism if this actually matters to you.

We won't forget you, moot.

>I think the main issue is this is a reboot of a classic beloved series whose characters are ingrained into popular culture (and have been for decades). Did you feel even a little bit silly typing this out? I mean, even a little?

>a thing I don't like is represented in a cartoon therefore it is bad

>LOOK HE'S ON THE SOCIAL MEDIAS KIDS, MEMES AND AIRHORNS, SO RELATABLE, RIGHT?
He's a villain designed to be shallow and annoying, you dense fuckwit.

When do we get the autistic Elon Musk duck?

Incidentally, when PPG 2016 came out and had a bunch of memes and social media jokes, the internet leapt down its throat, and Sup Forums in particular ripped it a new one.

Why is DuckTales (another reboot of a beloved cartoon) now getting a free pass for doing the same thing?

who?

Mark Beaks is so cute.

because that show sucked, my autistic friend.

>break some parodying law

there is no law against parodies... if there was all these tv shows rappers musicians and basically anyone on the internet would be arrested

the show got better when they introduced her

The memes are confined to a single caricature of a millennial billionaire.

Please don't. It's already obvious the fujos are going to love him, we don't need to start this any earlier than necessary, the threads will be full of of gay porn of him soon enough.

...

Parodies of celebrities can be good when the celebrities are actually worth a damn and it's not blatantly obvious they're just there for ratings points.

It's the difference between say, a Weird Al cameo in a cartoon and a Katy Perry cameo coupled with her singing one of her licensed songs. It's why Johnny Bravo meets Adam West is funny but Lisa Simpson meets Lady Gaga is a fucking bore.

is there really any other "new money" industry for the backstory? I mean you can't have him as smuggler like Kennedy.

It sounds so fucking weird hearing Bigheads voice not sounding completely clueless.

You're not wrong. I wanted to fuck that duck (bird) the first time I saw him

>He's a villain
>Intended to be annoying and unlikable

Why does OP have a problem with this?

>linking to a dead site.

>OP is a Mac fag.

OP has a very sensitive butt

Will it get another season?

Yes, season 2 is already confirmed.

Yes, Disney got ahead of themselves a bit and greenlit series 2 before season 1 even premiered.

Which would have completely blown up in their face if the show sucked and/or audience response was poor.

Fucking kek.

In fairness, Duckerburg is also annoyingly close to Duckburg. It would've been confusing unless they made the city named for his ancestors or something.

more like dickburg haha

You do realize that he's a villain, right? I mean, he's with the villain's lineup of the intro!

>what is nu-ppg
This show just so happens to be decent so I'm ok with it.

>oh no this new villain is cringey and annoying because he's based on a thing i hate

didja stop and think maybe that was the purpose

>Your grandparents founded Duckberg?
>That's right! They had the foresight to name it after themselves as well.
>But you're Duckerberg.
>That's also right! Changed it in '03.
>Why?
>Check it: You've got words like "big", right? And then you've got "bigger". Which word is better?
>Uhh.
>"Bigger!" So I did it with my name. Went from a simple "duck" to a mighty "ducker"!
>Why not go all the way to "duckest" instead?
>...Give me a second.
>...
>Stephanie? Call City Hall. I'm changing my name again. Seriously? The 180-month limit on name changes still isn't up? How are we on the time machine? Still trying to solve the Wells paradox? Peachy.

Autistic much?

Because a)those things are tied to one single character and not literally all over the show, b)said character is a VILLAIN indicating that this is actually bad and annoying behavior (to the point that Scrooge and Glomgold hate him so much that they are teaming up on him) and c)I think there's a considerably higher amount of bad will going toward PPG2016

>Yes, Disney got ahead of themselves
Every network greenlights a season 2 before premiere nowadays.

Sup Forums will love him because the spirit of fujo is in Sup Forums

More like the spirit of gay men who fap to the porn the fujos draw.

actually I sorta agree with It could be handled pretty well with this angle alone, however I think this episode would be great if it turns out he only becomes so powerfull because the Scrooge vs Glomgold money wankfest, and basically they were competeing to make money with social media themselves but neither of them can stand the new guy for their own reasons

Like, Glomgold almost definetly has clickbait money scams that are "give money to nigeran prince" tier and Scrooge would run a more honest advertising buisness when he isn't Covefe posting on Twitter (Sad! many such cases) - but this guy basically profits off both of that, like those youtube personalities. Does that make sense?

>Why is DuckTales (another reboot of a beloved cartoon) now getting a free pass for doing the same thing?

Because DuckTales, or more importantly it' characters, have been around for the better part of a century and over this time, they've had different iterations and been place in a multitude of "modern" scenarios, events and ideas.

On the other hand, Powerpuff Girls is not quite 20 years old and has had, what 2 different versions.

A 30 something year old remembering the ducks is going to be different to a 65 year old remembering the ducks. On the other hand, assuming they both know of the PPG, then they'd both remember the same thing.

...

How is Webby going to defeat this guy?

troll him online

call him a 'cuck'

and then make a post about how he only converted to Christianity because there's no way he's taking the American presidency as an atheist.

The real question is, how will Webby make Scrooge and everyone else look stupid while defeating this guy?

Why is everyone in this show besides Donald and Scrooge an obnoxious douchebag? If they make Fenton a dick as well, I'm gonna drop this shit.

You gotta at least post the second half of that image.
