Herbie Popnecker.
Superman Prime, Dr. Manhattan.
He's an elseworld Superman played straight. Let's be real, how many DC characters can deal with somebody who is near invulnerable and can move and react at the speed of light?
Madman, Popeye or any other toonforce character, because Saitama is a gag character right?
Herbie Popnecker. Can basically do whatever the fuck he wants.
100% Popeye post spinach ingestion. No Sup Forums character can take him on in that moment.
several
plastic man. They are both joke, invincible characters.
good guys that can defeat/fight on equal ground with superman:
Martian Manhunter
Shazam
Captain Atom
Dr Fate

I don't think you've read madman before. You may be thinking of freakazoid.
That faggot cannot even beat the president.
>The Virgin Rick
>The Chad Saitama
It was Black Bolt until shit writers made him whisper all the time, and than even shittier writers started to make him scream, and they nerfed him so that they could make Thanos seem more powerful than he has any right to be, and made BB into an incompetent fuck. And then they started pushing Inhumans with shit creators, so he never got handled by someone who actually knows how OP he's supposed to be. Remember the times when Black Bolt would never use his voice because he thought a single word from him could rip a tear in the fabric of the universe? I was so fucking blown away when he started whispering tiny little words in, what was it Son of M? or Silent War? or whatever. And then he used weapons made of his voice in War of Kings, AND IT MADE A FUCKING TEAR IN THE FUCKING FABRIC OF THE UNIVERSE! But they had to make Thanos seem like he isn't just some retard, so they go and nerf BB, this shit's so fucking stupid man. Fucking thanos of all people. is deal wasn't that he's super powerful and shit, it's that he's fucking retarded and he wants to prove he can be powerful so he wants the most powerful weapon in the universe. When you take that weapon away, and go but-- but he's still powerful now for some fucking reason, it doesn't work. Fuck your OC Starlin. "He's definitely not a Darkseid clone" well, he wasn't at first but you couldn't help yourself could you you little shit. I'm done Imma go back to reading my Giffen/DeMatteis JLA, this is why I stopped reading Marvel, fuck man. This and they killed Madrox off-panel.
Bugs Bunny
Honestly? Silver Age Superman.
Just replace the dreary boredom with optimism and creativity.
Silver Age Superman did the whole "invincible hero in quirky slice of life stories" decades before One Meme Man.
Friendly reminder: Saitama is not a "gag character" or "joke character". His series is a parody of superheroes, sure, but there is no evidence in any of the versions of OPM that Saitama is actually completely invinsible. He'd easily be beaten by toonforce or anything similar.
Saitama is just too strong for the other characters in his own universe (so far). Pure strength difference, no hax like toonforce or gag powers. Hell, against Boros he actually had to try, and it took more than one punch. If he was really a gag character he'd have just one-shotted Boros immediately. Saitama was holding back, yeah, but remember he was pretty irritated by the time he got to Boros since the bastard had just destroyed a whole city and forced him to punch his way through the entire ship to get to the throne room.
Like half the JSA can hand Superman his ass or atleast fight on equal footing with him.
Normies need to get that in DC the dials go up to 11. Goku/Naruto/Luffy/Whoever the fuck isn't beating Dr. Fate. He's also not beating Spectre. He's also not beating Alan Scott. He's not beating Jakeem Thunder.
Kinda true. Only difference is the humor style.
Suuuuuuure.
>against Boros he actually had to try
He was holding back to give him the illusion of a fight
They literally explain why Saitama didn't one-shot Boros, and that was to give Boros the fight of his life.
Also, I don't buy him having to try against Boros. I never have. Dude was basically unscathed at the end of the fight, even though Boros put everything he had into his barrage. There's no way someone who had to actually "try" to defeat someone else would come away totally unscathed from it.
Forgot to mention, if you believe one of the guide books then Boros is star level, meaning Saitama is probably only around star+ or multi-star if you really wank him. By feats, and what Boros actually says in the show and comic about his big super move, he's only planet surface+ to planet level, meaning Saitama is most likely only planet level.
Gary-stu is the real main character of OPM anyway.
Gwenpool
batgod
squirrel girl
I'm not saying he was trying really hard or anything, I'm just saying that he had to put some effort in to actually put Boros down. He couldn't just casually swat him away like a bug like most other characters.
What I wanna know is, is there a cape character with a similar gimmick to King? Super luck and bluff, but no real powers? Other than Batman.
>Saitama's equivalent in Western comics?
So then... a parody of overpowered eastern characters? I don't know. Maybe Karate kid?
Even if he's star level that's really not all that impressive compared to most top line DC heroes.
Saitama fans don't have solid feats for him to use in death battles so they're reduced to "lol he's a joke character joke characters can do anything and win every battle you just don't understand the point of his character".
Character shields aren't feats.
One-Meme Man is a big fish in a small pond. Supergirl would slap his shit let alone Superman.
this
Obelix.
Just so you know Karate Kid was pulling off bullshit weeaboo fighting magic hitting Mon-El's pressure points decades before Fist of the North Star.
Probably Johnny Thunder. His whole thing was being an idiot with incredible luck, so much so that he's got a pet 5D imp more powerful than the Spectre at his beck and call.
His weakness is that he's an idiot and the imp NEEDS him to command him in order to act and will follow his commands to the letter.
Johnny Thunder was thus the most powerful and least competent member of the JSA.
>His series is a parody of superheroes
A pretty shit one
pretty much this
He fucking jumped from moon to the earth within 2-3 seconds (he moved at the speed of 250000 km/h)
You mean shit one as a parody or shit as a story in general?
Your comment actually made me realize how similar they are...
Rick spends all his time talking about how unimportant everything is and how nothing anyone does matters; yet is arguably the most influential and important person alive in the entire universe (or multiverse) because of that.
And while Saitama acts so un-heroicly, thinks so simply and doesn't do a single thing to further his career; ends up saving the World daily, has the strongest morals of any Hero and in the end is the ultimate hero.
Madman is still pretty powerful, not toonforce level, but powerful, maybe pre-nu52 Creeper he was pretty invincible, what happened to Creeper, did he appears in rebirth?
Rick fags are sensitive today.
>Saitama acts so un-heroicly, thinks so simply and doesn't do a single thing to further his career
I disagree with you there. Saitama definitely has respect for heroes, or at least what they represent. Despite being disillusioned with doing the job himself he still acts quite heroically out of principle and calls out other heroes who don't live up to that name, like Fubuki during their first encounter. His career also advances, even if he isn't actively pursuing to advance it. He doesn't care for rankings, he just goes out to do heroics and that's it. At one point he admitted he wouldn't care about being fired from the hero association because being a hero isn't a job, but a hobby.
Doesn't Batmans belt tase anyone other then him who touches it?
I agree with you that it's not that impressive compared to a lot of capes. I really like OPM, but it's dumb to say that Saitama is some unbeatable joke. His vast power is not something you're supposed to focus so much on, the other characters, including the villains, are just as important to the story. pic not related
I know, that's why I also called him the ultimate hero. Caped Baldy is almost always late, spends most of his day playing video games, has no technique, walks right into traps, causes so much collateral damage and constantly gives bad advice to his student.
However he only kills monsters, always does the morally correct action, saves civilians first, doesn't engage in the HA's politics, encourages other Heroes to improve themselves as people and does all of this not for money or fame; but for himself.

I love this chapter.

Spectre at peak power...

Doctor Manhattan
All powerful but bored and disillusioned, Doc just let it get to him while Saitama maintains his childish nature and hope he may find enjoyment again
Here it comes
Definitely the best omake

I hope they'll include this chapter in S2 or OVA. Man can dream.

The End
Forbush Man
Stardust The Superwizard
I was really upset that they didn't include a bunch of the extra chapter in the first season.
Sonics escape
Kombu infinite survival
Glasses from the Blizzard group
I get Glasses cause they didn't want to show off Fubuki yet but the others really filled the world and setting.
Doctor Manhattan
I'M SURROUNDED BY PLEBS
The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.
>constantly gives bad advice to his student
I might be misremembering, and if that's so I apologize, but hasn't his advice to Genos, even if made up on the spot, usually been relatively beneficial? I can't really recall one of Saitama's lessons leading Genos to really fuck up.
This. It's part of what I like about DC. I think most people have experience with street-level stuff because Batman's the most popular, but DC's heroes regularly get up to some literally universe and dimension-bending shit. For some heroes like Flash and Dr Fate, that's an average Tuesday.
Yeah, it's always some vague positive non-advice that's so non-specific it doesn't actually cause Genos to change his behavior, just satiates his uncertainty and guidance-hungriness.
I see what you mean. All the advice I can recall is Saitama sharing his idealism with Genos without realizing so and Saitama telling Genos to get to the top 10 of S-Class.
Remember that the JSA has guys like Spectre, Alan, and Dr. Fate but it's also had members whose power is just "punch good" like Wildcat, the Atom, Mr. Terrific, etc.
Ma Hunkle was the original Red Tornado and she was just a black woman with a sauce pan on her head. And these guys are on the same team with guys that bend reality with their thoughts.
Needs to be someone close to his power level, not someone more than twice his power.
Saitama is literally an unbeatable joke. There is no point even discussing this because the entire point of his character is that he cant lose
He was literally shown to be slower than a mosquito in one scene then swatting them by the dozens in the next.
