2000s cartoons remain the undisputed champions

Threads like that are like ninety percent calling OP a faggot until they turn into political shitflinging.

REMEMBER BOBBY'S WORLD?

no, im too young to remember :(

Well, you've got good taste in dinosaur cartoons. I'll give you that much.

IT WAS A GOOD SHOW!

what show is that

>Compliment me on how right I am
Did somebody say RIGHT?

youtube.com/watch?v=0wfuz7FfM-I

Eek the Cat and all of its side-shows were my favorites growing up.

This

Clutter was fucking garbage.
Also the cartoon segments it starred in weren't very good.

that intro

I don't understand how I never got to ever see this show as a kid but the OP is rad.

>youtube.com/watch?v=hcMTM98kJhA

Really Eek! the cat was one of the best shit that the 90's shat on

Clutter certainly wasn't the show I came to see, but I didn't really hate it either, personally.

I too am from an older generation and while the current crop of crap is deeply unsatisfying, it's still leagues better than the toy ads and late-stage limited animation of my youth. Hurfle durfle and all that rot.

Yes, I pleasures myself to Bobby's many nude scenes. Hurfle and dare I say durfle.

What happened to dinosaur cartoons nowadays?

>it's a yet another meta Sup Forums episode
>this time it bitches about anyone criticizing bad cartoons made in this day
Everyone knows that there were bad and unsuccessful cartoons back then, but the amount of good cartoons from 20 years ago certainly is higher than a number of good cartoons we have as of today.

This is purely speaking from a perspective on the TV industry with big channels like Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, but I will acknowledge that more mature shows like Bojack Horseman and scifi shows like Voltron are better than what we had then.

People found out they had feathers and they stopped being cool.

Voltron is absolute garbage, moron.

>What happened to dinosaur cartoons nowadays?

They were big after the release of Land Before Time and up until the mid 90's, when Jurassic Park more or less killed dinosaurs in any medium. There were virtually no non-Jurassic Park dinosaur related movies before Jurassic World and all attempts have bombed.

Execs are wary of dinosaurs now.

You are garbage.

Sounds like it's time for you to graduate to television intended for adults and not children, OP. That's at least half of your problem right there. Sure, there are and always have been cartoons that can be enjoyed by all ages, but they've always been the exception, not the rule.

Quality shitpost

Anyone who doesn't state why a piece of media they don't like is garbage is the actual garbage here.

youtu.be/q3bAZ2gU28I?t=345
What did they mean by this?

An intelligent, by the books Arnold Schwarzenegger was an odd choice.

Or... the industry could start making great cartoons again, like it did in the 2000s.
But that's too hard, amirite?

>Gets the lead singer of Twisted Sister for vocals
>plays a few notes from AiC - Man in the Box
How did they think something so metal would work for a comedy show?

It was the 90s. Plus it made it memorable.

Are you implying it didn't work?

Nah, just that it's a little weird. I mean it works for action shows like Swat Kats or JLU.

Thunder Lizards was an odd mix of "Look at these badasses!" one moment, and then completely taking the piss out of them by having them be complete doofuses knocking heads into each other who can't even kill two tiny insects.

I actually like the mix, and it happened a few times back in the 90's.

Bill Kopp shows were top tier. And they still hold up more or less.

So is this an old shows thread now?

OP clearly didn't have a long-term shitposting plan, so sure, I don't see why not.

So what shows do you wanna talk about?

Eek is a good place to start.

I'm from an older generation and I am displeased with today's cartoons, but I want to have sex with many of the characters. How come cartoons aren't porn?

He's making fun of the fact that most of this board are adults who whine they don't enjoy children's media. Not sure what there's to be upset about.

I remember watching some episodes a few months ago and they still hold up imo. But one thing I never noticed is that a lot of the plots were just parodies/references to movie or popular media at the time. Kinda weird how references fly over your head as a kid.

If you just want some cartoon porn, then you gotta go watch Japanese porn cartoons. That's what the Japanese are good at. Not necessarily the story or whatever, but just showing characters having sex in lots of imaginative ways.

There have been some western attempts over the years, but in general Japan is your place for that sort of stuff. Though hentai OVAs are a dying breed these days so yeah.

>debate club nigga facetiously trying to push some smartass rules of engagement on a board for children's cartoons just because he doesn't think it's fair someone said they didn't like his favorite cartoon without giving him a chance to prove them wrong

My favourite episode of Eek to go back to was the one where they parody Elvis' film career

>tells OP to graduate to television intended for adults and not children
>posts a horribly cartoonish melodrama

stop this meme

The question of our time and age.

Cartoons are not children's media.

You are right, and also I posit that the modern cartoons I dislike are caused by women, jews, and men whose wives are unfaithful.

There's probably a million things like this I didn't catch at the time.

It's funny because I was trying to be meta but both of you are entirely correct and that's pretty much my current relationship with cartoons and anime

>tfw remember watching both the Terrible Thunderlizards and Extreme Dinosaurs and remember mostly the first one
Was Extreme Dinosaurs shit or was it just generic for its era?

Not implicitly, anyways. But the ability for any zany thing to happen in them holds the attentions of ADHD riddled youngins.

Meanwhile adult cartoon sitcoms are mostly "look at this talking animal joining in humans' conversations. WE'VE REALLY EXPLORED THE POTENTIAL OF THIS MEDIUM THIS TIME!"

Extremely generic for its era. Everyone was on the Ninja Turtle inspired "Badass Animal Toy Commercial" bandwagon.

Actually I don't remember it either, but that's a safe assumption, right?

Maybe. I also watched Street Sharks which I also don't remember, but I do remember TMNT okay enough.

I remember in one episode of Extreme Dinosaur they stopped a nuclear missile from taking off by using a rope tied around the tip of it. The episode started with them adopting a baby bird, I forgot how it got to the nuke shit.

youtube.com/watch?v=pm2wUzKje6E
Best episode. Quality is kinda shit, but it was converted from VHS so it has artifacts also the other video with this episode has desynced audio.

Everyone remembers TMNT, except perhaps the finer points like how they basically weren't allowed to use their weapons for their intended purposes. Or most of the generic filler villain-of-the-week.

Street Sharks is the exact same shit though, so it's no wonder TMNT eclipses it in your mind. Even kids can smell derivative products and just tune out the noise.

It certainly has its fans for those cat sisters. Even Sup Forums took notice of them.

>Kumbaya!
I love Eek.

Didn't TMNT have the advantage of being released first, and all the other shows following afterwards?

Well, sure. That's what makes those other shows so derivative and not the other way around.

You're still with it old man, you're still with it.

Eek likes them THIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCC

>Even kids can smell derivative products and just tune out the noise.
Exactly. Kids may watch your show out of boredom but that doesn't mean it's good. It just means it was sufficient enough to not warrant changing the channel.

When I was a kid I hated shows I watched like Tax-Mania and Animaniacs

>Tax-Mania
That does sound like a show that kids would hate.

You didn't like Animaniacs? A pity. It did have some interesting skits. Mostly the Pinky and the Brain ones, which seemed to be successful enough that they got their own spin-off show.
With Elvira.
Which then made them unpopular again.

As for Taz-Mania, I also kinda remember it as not really being fun and good during my childhood. But perhaps it might have been funny for adults.

Taz-mania is underrated. It has some weaker characters, but it was still a fun show.

Animaniacs was super overrated though. All the kids I knew watched it too, but after a while I could tell it was actually kind of weak, relying on catch-phrases and tired routines. The skits with funny jokes were actually the exception, not the rule.

I liked Pinky and the Brain a bit more, iirc

To be honest, I don't think I actually started liking television until Sailor Moon came around

Funnily enough I liked both of these shows as a kid, but didn't watch them very often.

>But perhaps it might have been funny for adults.
Taz did have a lot of references intended for adults, like the Bing Crosby Dad.

This probably helped preserve them for you. Watching the same old Animaniacs episodes day after day really made them fall apart for me. Especially when a lot of the gags were done again in later episodes, making them extra stale.

Yeah, you're probably right. Even back then I could tell Animaniacs was very formulaic.

Squatt was the best thunderlizard. He was pure.

>goddamn kids!

KIDS THESE DAYS
KIDS THESE DAYS
THEY DONT KNOW

I didnt buy a boat because i inherited 2, fight me

I'm not him, but this is the kind of mentality that makes boards turn into shit. You treat making reasonable posts as a way for someone to "prove you wrong", when it could very well be a way for some user to broaden his opinion on something, seeing the points he had never even considered before.

You goddamn avocado toast munchin gender whatever fags don't know the first thing about the boat economy! You're ruining the world our fathers built!

non American here, can somebody explain this shit to me?
Are millennials only supposed to be like ,17 max rn? How are they supposed to buy houses and boats if they are babies?

If they are not perfectly stable making almost six figures with a house and two cars in their name by age 22 they are complete failures that are fucking over the economy due to their pathetic laziness

Are there any channels airing old Fox cartoons? Do shows like Eek! hold up enough that they could still be played in syndication today and be worth the investment?

>21
>live with mom
>trying to finish a shitty college that won't matter in the end
>about to start a shitty 12 hour a day job to make 400$ a month
at least I have an excuse of living in a borderline 3d world I guess

>borderline 3d world
Canada?

Millennials (also known as Gen Y) are all those born from around 1980 to the year 2000.
Others count it as being from 1980 to 1995, or from 1985 to 2000 (a generation being considered being 15 years), but in general, it's before the turn of the millennium.

My family members have so many boats lying around that I could literally just ask them for one.

Better yet, I could go on to their property and take one and claim it mine and they would literally not care. I wouldn't do that but I could. There's a lot of boats in my family (family of fishers). One time I went to my cousins and he had three boats stacked on top of each other.

My uncle lost his big fishing rig couple years ago and we found it again in the woods (it wasn't very functional anymore)

Also this

>at least I have an excuse of living in a borderline 3d world I guess

You live in Klonoa world too, huh?

I found the fast jutting movement hilarious.
Kinda like with Benny Hill chase scenes.

Hey, if the imitation can stand on it's own, then learning about the reference is just icing on the cake.

Why? It's about everyone's favourite vidya game hero!

your right. good for you

>tfw it's just Pac-Man with a very basic sound cover of the Beatles 'Taxman' on loop

Yeah but I wasn't the guy who didn't like Voltron and my post was cool

Actually, the youngest millenials right now are 18. The oldest, on their late 30's.
But baby boomers are unironically like this even when they don't reach that bar themselves.

Born in the 60's, kid of the 70's & I say with confidence that you are correct.
