Galacrocker vs Galactus

Who wins?

>the villain getting injured becomes a running gag or even a theme throughout the series
>by the end is a remnant of their former self, either physically, mentally or both

>old villain defeats new villain

>How is this happening?
>They're just a bunch of goofy idiots
>Bots help me!

...

>hero and villain have a bro moment
youtube.com/watch?v=PppqpubWkHs

>ragtag band of sketchy misfits lumped together
>become heroes who truly care about each other

>tropes you hate

galactus always being hungry and getting bodied/jobbed out.

Damn, I haven't seen this one in years. I wonder how did it hold up after 13-14 years...
>Also, a ruthless unlikable evil weasel finally got the justice after countless times the hero prevailed, and the weasel gets away.

>villain tries too hard to become an actual threat and fails
>decides to just sit back, relax, and watch shit

>Cocky villain who's always two steps ahead
>Panics when he realizes his plan is falling apart

>Calm rage

>villain retires
>tries to fit back into normal society

>villain saves the day (accidentally or due to certain circumstances)
>people thank him for that
>he fucking hates it, tell them to piss off and is genuinely depressed about it

Am I doing it right?

...

>Always in costume

Which reminds me:
>Reporter always uses his reporter voice

...

>Villain kicks hero's ass while singing villain song

>girl has comically long hair and attention is often drawn to it in some way

>apocalyptic future episode
>everyone is buff with beards

>joke character is actually really depressed

on the subject of your pic

>mc teams up with alternate versions of himself

>Downbeat and cynical character tries to destroy the spirit of a hopeful and idealistic character
>Idealistic character doesn't break and tells him to fuck off.

"What are young to do? Stab me?"
>The guy gets stabbed.

cynical character and idealistic character eventually switch places.

>villain/antagonist/anti-protagonist sacrifices to save the protagonist/hero

Beautiful

kek

>watch shit

Sounds hot.

...

I'm actually writing a story with that trope, somewhat.

This

>Protagonist has a shady past (thief, family is part of a crime organization, etc.) and becomes a hero to redeem themselves.

Details? I'm always interested in hearing people's ideas.

...

>Cynical character is actually idealistic.

Rule Free Wish Crocker would rek big G, he's a reality warper of the highest order.

>character gets romantic feelings for other character outed in public

>Actual threat villain finally snaps
>He becomes a gag villain

That annoyed me to infinity and back.

>Cyberpunk Dystopia
>A Gambler, a Thief, a Daughter to a Yakuza boss, a Punk, and a mechanic gotta take down a Militia Gang, the Yakuza gang, and a corporation that builds Robot Police.
>Thief and Yakuza girl fall in love, Gambler learns to trust his friends, Mechanic and Punk finally have a family

>young character is friends with considerably older character

That sounds a lot like Snow Crash. Have you read it?

Nope, never even heard of it. I hope when I'm done writing the story doesn't end up being too similar.

>Two extremely Powerful non-protagonist characters fight off in an epic battle

>Protagonist with powers goes berserk
>Berserker mode much more powerful than regular mode

...

>Villain doesn't actually believe in what they're doing, and wishes they weren't doing it
>Does it anyways because it's "what must be done"
>they keep a literal or figurative log of all the people they've harmed or killed because of this, so that they never forget

alternatively
>berserk form is shit
>but it looks amazing and fun as fuck

The prototype design is ridiculously badass, leaps and bounds beyond the standard model, with one glaring drawback.

my nigga

It's always cool to see what the B-team can do.

On that note
>B Team does A-team quality work

>normal insane or hyper villain briefly becomes lucid and coherent
>instead of asking for help, they accept who they are or the roles they must play

i keep on going back to that part in the killing joke with the joker

B-team holds their own just long enough for the A-team to get there.

B Team actually has a really good lineup

>big bad villain is from his shady past

>Completely unqualified guy that was just some average Joe uses his strange hobbies and talents to become the hero

This is where the game turned to shit

>Spunky tomboy without any "grrrl power" bullshit

>Character has a near death experience
>tells whatever's on the other side to fuck off, he's not done yet

some may disagree with me, but I think Death Note did this one quite well

kek

...

>Downbeat and cynical character tries to destroy the spirit of a hopeful and idealistic character
>That near infinite hope and idealism reverses and he is now the most ruthless motherfucker who snuffs out goods so efficiently it makes the down beat cynic realizes the errors of his way.

oh shit, a reason to plug my blog

advancingperception.wordpress.com/

all short stories, some are continuous.

Here's my favorite, it's about a magic swords.
advancingperception.wordpress.com/2017/09/16/my-rage-inducing-encounter-with-magic-swords/

Good times...

Characters who revive themselves from sheer will are the best. Can't think of too many, sadly.

mugen from samurai champloo, the paladin from planescape, asura from asuras wrath, im trying to think of some others. oh, and of course your pic

didn't that end terribly for the reeds

>big bad can read minds
>good guy wins with bullshit of I didn't think of anything or muh instinct

I hate this shit so fucking much.

The only way I'd allow a mind reader to lose, as an author, would be for the mind reader to read the mind of a psychopath like the Joker and the mind reader ends up going insane.

>protag and villain just talking in non hostile environment and villain calls out protag on his hypocrisy, and bullshit
Even if the "Were' not different" shit is uttered I love this

what about through sheer luck, or some kind of inevitable situation?

Sheer luck I'm okay with this in this situation.

A gambit like "I wanted you to read my mind" is fine with me as well.

But the "I didn't think of anything" or the "I tried really hard to think of something else" is bullshit.

What if the guy just thought about lewd images that the enemy got confused with his kinky shit?

the opposite is even more infuriating, whenever Martian Manhunter or Professor X try to use mind powers only to go "EUGHHH, MY HEAD" I slap my face.

I'd love that.

reminds me of that episode of young justice where bane stope the martian from reading his mind by thinking of the sports scores in spanish. thats probably what I would do in that situation, since it worked

hold on let me read this simple crooks min- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ME BRAIN HURTY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUuuugh.

can anyone apart from galactus beat him in terms of being a massive fucking jobber?

thanos is the current king of the jobbers

What episode was that again?

and eldritch being comes out of fucking nowhere to interrupt the big final battle between the hero and villian and NO ONE has any goddamn clue what to do about it.

>male and female protagonist
>they just remain friends and don't suddenly become a couple at the end

Where has that happened?

>Hero and villain team-up to defeat bigger villain

Well yeah. Apart from 616 Reed, they were all dicks though. 616 Reed is the only family man in the multiverse.

And Yasha still kicked his ass.

WAIT A MOMENT
how did wander get free from the ice block?

it melted, they cut a chunk out of the clip

oh okey, thats fine i guess

>mind reader to read the mind of a psychopath like the Joker and the mind reader ends up going insane.

huh, that trope annoys me a lot actually

imo the best way to handle mindreading is to give it some non-obvious limitation and then having whoever beats it figure out the limitation and work around it

i cant recall ever seeing this, but id love to see a cocky mindreader lose to someone who's just straight up more powerful or has an actual foolproof plan. in a 'even if you know what's coming you can't stop me' kind of way

>good guy wins by giving them a red herring or thinking of misinformation to throw them off

>show has two different villains
>they never meet
>their interests conflict at a certain moment
>villains start fighting each other

I wonder is switching languages in your head could really confuse a telepath. I do that all the time.

Mojo Jojo doing that and getting super pissed about it were some of the best episodes.

Why the hell is Sup Forums so sentimental?
