Related - my friend is a composer, and had put in a request to use some work-for-hire text Disney currently owns the rights to a couple years ago. He just got notified that they had considered allowing it, but now, regretfully, they can't. Coincidence? I think NOT!
Currently obsessed with this text by author Matthew Stover. Unfortunately he wrote it into a Star Wars work-for-hire, so Disney has their claws all over it. Still, to all you composers out there...I call dibs. ;)
