I don't see why not, they're basically short films.

If it's outside of the game, it's Sup Forums. If it's in the game, it's Sup Forums.

I just realized, did the two get off Pandaren or did they just stick there getting drunk?

The Pandaren fucking ate them dude.

>tfw IRL pandas can actually be extremely vicious
Fucking bears

Death by snu snu

I bet you we could get away with a thread about in-game cinematics.

youtube.com/watch?v=jon4GV1u3uM

>I bet you we could get away with a thread about in-game cinematics.

Speaking of which WoWs in game cinematics are getting really nice. They're really pushing little animation details in these days.

Too bad about the rest of the game though.

I always remember this cinematic when I see pics of the humans from the Warcraft movie. That film's biggest mistake was not being full CG.

Azeroth humans all look they wrestle bears for morning exercise.

Why do Orcs and Humans always have to be against each other?

When it comes down to it Orcs and Humans could be the biggest bros with each other.

The debate comes down to whether or not machinima could be considered a form of puppetry, as you would be controlling digital puppets as a means of telling a story.

Mists of Pandaria was better than it had any right to be. Shame about WoD though.

We can definitely get away with machinima threads, I've seen more than a few RvB threads hit bump limit

Because Elves are no fun to fight, they're just effeminate dicks. And fighting the undead gets real boring real quick.

In that case, if one can argue that a cinematic was made in a video game engine (Source Filmmaker, classic machinima, or otherwise), then it would probably work under Sup Forums.

Otherwise, all the SFM bestiality porn would have to be posted somewhere that isn't /aco/, and I don't want to have to leave this site just to get porn.

Bestiality isn't supposed to be posted anywhere but Sup Forums or /trash/. SFM porn can be posted on /gif/, /aco/, and I have found some on /d/.

I fucking loved how comfy Valley of the Four Winds was. I actually felt like having my Unholy DK do the farming stuff. It was very relaxing. Plus fishing in the Krasarang Wilds was neat

youtube.com/watch?v=JmndxoF74qQ

Reminder that Zul'jin did literally nothing wrong.

yeah, sure. Not much to discuss, but I'm happy that game companies have so much financial excess to pour some of it into cinematic shorts, just to be released on youtube.

I remember the hype was palpable when those came out.

is that the new thor?

It's one of those situation where there's so much spilled blood that it's awfully hard for most people not to fear and/or hate the other side, though that's mostly on the orcs. Doesn't help that the one human leader who was totally down with compromise had her city nuked by Garrosh.

Speaking as someone who loves Bayformers, if they could get in a film half the sheer personality of that first teaser, Hasbro would have all the money.

Just how ridiculous expensive would a full movie with WoW's opening cinematic level of quality be?

I mean Pixar does some pretty ridiculous shit with their money. Would it be even more expensive? 2x? 3x?

Gonna give you the /tg/ answer: depends on the setting.

I mean in my current campaign, orcs are plenty 'civilized' and at peace with other races.

They just don't like how humans and elves strive for lives of leisure.

They appreciate dwarves and halflings more because orcs think that the value of something is proportional to the effort you put into obtaining it.

in another setting, it's because orcs find greater society ridiculous and wasteful. They feel that if your tribe has grown large enough that the rulers can spend all day talking and yet get nothing physically done, you've hit the point where it's becoming bloated and useless.

Is it bad that I no longer play games and just watch cut scene movies?

I don't buy triple A games anymore, just watching the cutscenes or download the game are both justified.
For content, indie shit is more interesting to play but often lack refined CGI cutscenes or general animation. Take your pick

Nothing wrong with enjoying the cutscenes. Hell, I fully admit I'd never beat cuphead but I enjoyed watching through it.
Asura's Wrath is a really entertaining short anime if you just watch the cutscenes.
Blizzard has been making really great trailers and cinematics even people who don't play the games can enjoy for years.
Metal Gear 3 literally came with a movie version made from cutscenes.

Watching cutscenes for themselves is very Sup Forums

Thought that was Thor and Hulk for a minute.

Just look at this vicious predator

>snu snu
>At a female Pandaren's whopping 5'5
We don't all play dwarves and gnomes, Ally scum.

In the case of Warcraft they've just been at war too long to know anything else. They've been at war for over thirty years. There's entire generations on both sides who only know that war.

This is literally just a blatant video game thread, you're discussing the fucking lore. I don't care that you can get away with it by pretending you care about the Sup Forums aspects like cinematics, you're still a faggot.

As long as it's not a Japanese game.

>Implying he's not a goblin

>Too bad about the rest of the game though
I was thinking of getting back in. Did it go to shit?

When did you get out of it?

Every expansion has been the worst thing to happen to the game and the original game was the worst thing to happen to the MMO genre. So pick your poison I guess.

Warlords was good when leveling but had awful endgame
Legion is mostly good but a lot of people hate how gear feels more rng now, and some of the leveling area plot lines end abruptly. However, it plays great and fixed most of the worst issues warlords had.

>people hate how gear feels more rng now
After one gets a handful of legos its not that bad save for getting decent trinkets for your class.
>some of the leveling area plot lines end abruptly
The only two I can think of are the Sylvanas/Greymane thing and the Queen Azshara thing. The latter is obviously a plot thread for the next expansion and the former probably is as well.

Legion is kind of odd.

It has the same thing where each patch pretty much renders every previous raid and instance obsolete, which appeals to casuals
But the way artifact power works means unless you've played from the very beginning of the xpac and play 5 hours a day every day, you'll never quite catch up to the top players. It's more than just gear now.
So there's good shit for casuals and good shit for poopsockers, but it's a little less great on people who wanna do high end raids but aren't robots.

It IS a hell of a lot smoother though. Legion's release was utterly incredible for an MMO xpac release and the questing was fantastic.

Sometime during mists. I only stopped because the files on my computer got messed up and it was too much to redownload.
I started shortly after cataclysm. It was at least before they did that retarded simplification of the skill trees.

My main concern is pvp and behind that questing. Never cared much about Raids and dungeons. I might try and get back in.

Tolkien they are literally evil.
Warcraft they are interdenominational aliens hell bent on war thanks to demons and even being free of them it was 3 generations of this shit and millions of lives lost on both sides.
Elder Scrolls they are just dicks

pvp is mostly the same as it ever was
quests are legitimately great.

don't know if it count as a cinematic, but i recently found a little dishonored animation divised in 3 episodes, it is worth it.

episode 1: youtube.com/watch?v=6URWuebn_jQ&index=2&list=PLJLgJWywQOenQ0Sf6-8OpfD67ye3CXOoY

episode 2 : youtube.com/watch?v=AFMRh7v45x8&index=1&list=PLJLgJWywQOenQ0Sf6-8OpfD67ye3CXOoY

episode 3: youtube.com/watch?v=Hi5Z2jpQsSY&index=3&list=PLJLgJWywQOenQ0Sf6-8OpfD67ye3CXOoY

Shame Activision took High Moon to CoD. Only beef I have with the company is they are the flip of EA where you lose new games getting made rather than studios and devs because the moment they make a ground breaker they want them on their yearly titles.

youtube.com/watch?v=Kq5KWLqUewc

> A cinematic so good that the last GoT episode was influenced by it

youtube.com/watch?v=BCr7y4SLhck

I watch this cinematic religiously since the first time i see it.

It's just TOO good.

After LK, Wow became a lot less interesting since the "warcraft 3" arc was over.

Neat.

Does ea keep the games but get rid of the devs?

Some people really hate titanforging and the random netherlight traits. Personally I don't mind either, but I've accepted my alts will likely never catch up to my main at this rate.

Studios bought by EA have a limited lifespan. EA retains the intellectual property

basically. I mean they took a 20 year old over head squad based rts and turn it into a fps because...?

Legion sort of manages to catch that same feeling, as it brings final closure to the illidan/kil'jaedan side of TFT, much more than TBC ever could.

You know it just struck me that we haven't seen Illidan interact with Tyrande or Malfurion at all this expansion.

I guess after Emerald Nightmare Malfurion's story was played out.
Can I say, Illidan should be glad his brother jumped on that grenade. Tyrande is such a cunt. The second biggest in Legion.

youtu.be/-UT3vFDtwUo seeing as this is wacraft focused. These have so far blown me away. They get a lot out of these simplistic designs.

He avoided her on purpose according to the audio from the next raid

He's got demons to focus on now. He hasn't actually interacted with either of them since WC3 - the closest was Malfurion keeping an eye on him, which you can see in the Shifting Sands questline

Who is the biggest?

>Who is the biggest?
Nathanos Blightcaller.

Oh yeah but he was always a sassy shithead. Even back in Classic he'd trashtalk. Sylvanas poked fun at him during the Legion pre-expac event.

Tyrande is legitimately a bad person and every interaction with her is awful. She's always hostile and the entire planet is just lucky Malfurion is less of a cunt.

Yeah I showed this to a friend who didn't buy that the last GoT ep was influenced by WoW. And he raved on about how stupidly realistic the snow and Arthas' cloak looked.

youtu.be/eYNCCu0y-Is

they masterfully make these. I love the subtleties in the character acting that they have recently focused on.

>just dicks in TES
More like everyone else is dicks to them and orcs are nice guys and every single person who gets to know them thinks they're bros.

You know blizzard shot themselves in the foot going to movies first.
They should have made a netflix series. That way they could have more than enough time making this series better and do good proper exposition.

>Tyrande is legitimately a bad person and every interaction with her is awful. She's always hostile and the entire planet is just lucky Malfurion is less of a cunt

> MALFOORION MAI LOOOVE

Please give me back my WC3 era Night Elves. Who even impressed Grom Hellscream himself. He basically was like "Goddamn, these are some savage fucking elves."

I do miss that

>MALFOORION MAI LOOOVE
They are such faggots for each other.

The Arthas cinematics in general hold up well to this day.
youtube.com/watch?v=W-X8BF3UL6s
youtube.com/watch?v=wG3jgWreLKw

really good visual storytelling, you really get this sense of contempt.

>Please give me back my WC3 era Night Elves
You mean that time Tyrande murdered a bunch of night elves to break a traitor out of jail she then emotionally manipulated and was forced to be rescued by?
The Night Elves were always a shitty race. Canonically they're the shittiest race given everything the Highborne caused.

youtu.be/ehjJ614QfeM fuckin mint cinematic. I eagerly pay attention to how technology creates lush worlds and characters. Personally I'm waiting for hair to kind of get less uncanny.

Actually in TES you can blame Bretons firmly for Orcs being tired of everyones shit.

If left alone Orcs literally just want to sit in their little forts fucking harems and smithing good shit.

>videogame cinematics are more creative and impressive than most standalone animated short films
>all that technology and talent going to vidya while cartoons get the scraps if they're lucky

These uncannily good cutscenes must have played a significant part in getting people into W3 and WoW. They still feel like an anomaly to me.
youtube.com/watch?v=dfkiJXnSRM8
This game and expac released in 2002 and 2003. This had to be among the best, if not the best pure CG production at the time.

I still think the blood elves are worse. Kael'thas is a little bitch.

Tyrande was always a bitch. But the race itself in the WC3 era was a nice take on the "Wood Elves" concept. They weren't daintly anf lithe. The men were burly beefkings who transformed into Bears to maul your face, and the women amazonian warrior priests who rode into battle on fucking Tigers. Then WoW turned them into generic fantasy nature hippie elves #348.

>high quality cinematic for a game eventually scrapped
youtube.com/watch?v=TGoUsd-RHqU

> When you turn the ambiance way up and the music down in the Throne room in Undercity.

Poor King Terenas.

Aww shit I forgot about that. One of the modt genuinely unsettling things in videogames.

I think the only race that translated well into WoW was the Forsaken. Undead in WoW are a treasure

The Legion and Warlords in-engine cutscenes are really cool and I'm glad that blizz is using them more frequently now.
You get one or two per zone and then like four in the last area, plus cutscenes inside raids for major moments.

Kael'thas was great in wc3, though. Wow kael'thas was a totally different person.

Technically Sup Forums but I liked a lot of the cutscenes in BOTW. Maybe needed a little more violence in the fight scenes though.

>female Pandaren
>5'5
Female pandas are bigger than male humans in wow.

Remember, every problem on Azeroth is the fault of the Night Elves.

Orcs are green skinned niggers. That should tell you everything

I love the argument that the Forsaken are still the rightful owners of Lordaeron, and that Alliance attempts to "retake" the region are theft.

I guess that's kind of my point. As far as Tyrande and Malfurion fell, Kael'thas fell ten times farther.

Nobody was in-character during Burning Crusade.

>Sup Forums
I'd like to avoid aids actually.

#393*

>that quest where you act as a questgiver

>These uncannily good cutscenes must have played a significant part in getting people into W3 and WoW

True. This was my own introduction into Warcraft. Well, after watching that South Park episode.
