Voltron Legendary Defender - Would season 4 have felt less filler if they had a BoM b plot shown onscreen rather than just alluded to?

>filler
>Shiro got back in Black
>Keith left the team
>Pidge found Matt
>Lotor is disowned and branded a fugitive
>Zarkon is back on his feet
>Lotor is betrayed by his harem
>The Paladins, the BoM, and the Coalition launch a major offensive and take back a third of the Universe fron the Galra
>Lotor joins the rebellion
This is the least filler-y season yet

I just wanted to see more of Kolivan and co. That was disappointing.

Arusian Genocide when

The only part that wasn't filler was Pidge, and even that felt a bit rushed.

Most of that stuff was rush or happening in the background while they were doing BS filler. Coran is addicted to brainslugs taking priority over Lotor killing one of his own, escaping from the rest's betrayal, and being on the run?

We got one scene of Zarkon chasing after Lotor. One scene with the generals acting mysteriously. Two scenes with Keith actually doing BoM stuff. The coalition felt forced, rushed, and the last two episodes were so fast there was no time to explain anything.

I think it would've been even better if they cut out the shitty anime crap

Galrans are for killing off unceremoniously over and over again!

It's time

Say something nice about her

He's emo

This season made me hate her so much. They really are turning her from a character into the Jesus of the series.

All the Galra stuff was good but the Voltron Coalition was a pointless waste of time. At least Matt was funny and Lance was cool.

She is precious

She would be a better leader than Keith.

your chin can pierce the heavens

Allura spilling her spaghetti over milk was hilarious

Well Keith already quit being leader so that worked out well for her

It's time?

Considering there's only seven episodes for season 4, I'm not surprised things felt so rushed.

>entire ember island player episode about building the coalition
>next to last ep spends time meticulously explaining their plan in the slowest most drawn out scene of the season
Most of this the opposite of what actually happened in the show

Rewatching Voltron Show, was the monster at the end a jab towards Dreamworks not letting them use more Robeasts?
Brainslug Coran did seem eager to show that it was better than whatever fake Robeast they were going to fight.

>forced rushed meme user is back
Now it's a real post-season thread.

Robeasts are toy fodder, if anything the writers threw in a bunch of them at the start to get them out of the way so they could ignore them for the rest of the series.

Why doesn't she try to rule the universe on her own? She's more competent than both Lotor and Zarkon.

Considering how merch-heavy this show is supposed to be I'd have expected the execs to force more of them in. There's a bunch of situations where I feel like a Robeast figure would've fit in pretty well.

If this show is remembered for nothing else, I hope its remembered for its backgrounds.
This scene, despite being really badly ended with Pidge's abrupt realization, was portrayed beautifully.

she's too beta and would never usurp Zarkon. she had his back even when he went full retard over MUH BLACK LION

Is this the first time we've seen a Druid talking?

I want Lance to turn out to be a long lost Altean prince so he can fly the castle and they can kill her off.

You clicked on this spoiler ready for me to say I'm joking but I'm not.

What about this guy?

>badly ended with Pidge's abrupt realization
I don't get this, was she supposed to take half the season to realize her brother's birthday was put down wrong? Immediately after a flashback about the code even, Pidge is supposed to be smart.

THERE HE IS

Turtle Galra dick is too good.

You are already BTFO.

It just seemed a bit rushed, like they could've lingered on the scene a bit longer and let the music shift. Maybe it could've had her read the numbers out before realizing, anything but crying then "they got his birthday wrong" in a completely different tone.

It has more emotional impact and the scene works better as foreshadowing if they let it linger for a bit before they come up with any number of reasons why it would take a long time for her to figure it out without making her look stupid.

...

>Lance
>not Katie

Slav is the key to all of this.

She and Keith are cute.

But I want Lance to go Kamina for her

>guy who pilots the fire lion is weak to ice

I thought the length for that was about perfect, if you're just talking about taking another half a minute or something that would have veered into the gratuitous. Bex went all out with that performance but that kind of thing can easily overstay its welcome.
That just sounds like it would be really contrived, even worse than Shiro insisting they stay on the bomb planet. At least that had the excuse of him being a retarded clone.

slav lookin rough around the edges, get that man some spoons

Is it me or did the OST for this show seem way better this season?
Even the incidental stuff like the Kaltenecker and Voltron Show music was a lot catchier.

Why does Slav never take off his straitjacket?

He's just got his hands in his pockets.

>Maybe it could've had her read the numbers out before realizing
but the numbers were already being broadcast as she was crying, that's how she realized it. that was actually a good way to do the scene since someone in emotional distress isn't going to have the presence of mind to make sure all the numbers on their beloved sibling's grave are correct

Is Haggar going to have a redemption arc? Or at least become more sympathetic? Her trying to stop Zarkon by appealing to their love would be interesting at least. And heartbreaking when he inevitably rejects her offer and she's forced to put him down to save the universe, then cries over his body, realizing how much she's lost.

what are the other VAs known for?

I know Allura's is Jasper

They really must be hanging around these threads and listening to us.

Question, do you think that Haggar released this guy after Lotor's betrayal was known?

That generic rock beat for The Voltron Show was on point

Didn't mean to reply to you btw

Bex was in Arrow and a few other shows
Jeremy Shada is obvious

I like to think so. He's a cute noodle.

What do you mean? You want them to end up together only for Lance to die?

Keaton is pretty dang prolific

Haha. No.

gotta love the mice

I just want Lance to go ultimate sacrifice route on the same episode Allura finally shows some romantic episode for him.

Would leave Allura, Keith, and Shiro with a spot in Voltron.

Although the whole Shiro thing will probably prevent this from happening, and Keith is clearly being groomed for taking over Voltron eventually

>Yfw Zarkon turns him into a super soldier to hunt down Lotor

I hope so, he's the best (only) reoccuring general they have left.

slurp

Lotor is a good boy.

This is Keith

He is a general, so probably. The cyborg guy from the engineer planet is still kicking around, and he's a far bigger failure than Throk could ever be.

This is Klance

Why do they look like they came from that one Beatles cartoon?

Blue board

Wouldn't they notice when he showered at the garrison?

I think they should have had Keith slowly uncovering the secrets behind the new "Shiro," actually fully realizing it right at the end, and then leaving us wondering if he was going to come to the rest of the team with this information, or what. He's doing intel retrieval for the BoM, after all. It'd make it feel less like they just forgot that plot point.

And who knows, maybe working for a group that's arguably even edgier than he is would have led to some actual character growth.

They probably had single bathrooms or else Pidge would've gotten caught.
Maybe she posed as a tranny in case she got caught.

Everyone thought he had some weird congenital deformity.

It's based off a gay cartoon short In A Heartbeat, so basically the same thing

So do the Galra actual control the known universe or is it more like the known Galaxy?

Maybe that'll be a thing in S6 and one of his missions with the BoM he'll run into the Shiro cloning lab.

That took me back to a better time

Hey all, there's a hot new ship in town and I for one am prepared to suffer in rarepair hell for eternity.

For all we know, the galra could control much more than human's have mapped out.

wasn't there a crime show Bex was in too?

You mean Scream?

If this stays up mods are keithfags

Believe it or not, episodes like that really boost up the ratings!

I think is what they were trying to tell us

I'd imagine the Galaxy. In the Foundation series, the Galactic Empire controlled the entire milky way which covered 25 million worlds. Anything more than that would be absurd.

Hunk would be freaked out by Lotor. Lotor should first suffer more to be with Hunk

>the "yeah that'll teach me" one in vol. 2 with real shiro and kuron

I don't think that's it, something more serious in tone

>implying that an episode on which the team puts on an ice show is filler and not the apex of the entire series character progression

So do you even watch the show or..?

I dunno, he was the chillest about Keith turning out to be Galra... but then again, Keith has never tried to murder Team Voltron. I guess I could see Hunk being ultra-suspicious, like he was with Rolo and Nyma. But I doubt he'd out-suspicious Keith, at least.

Nice

Shidge is pure!

Why don't people ship Lance with Sans from undertale?

>I've seen enough hentai to know where this is going
That line could get some good mileage right about now.

It's a very nice xeno dick though. Anyone could appreciate it.

I can't believe Keith actually quit the team. The show was making it seem like Shiro was going to be absent in the show, not his replacement. Also, apparently Shiro is such a Chad that even a fake clone version of his can pass for a paladin and be accepted as the lead of Voltron with the Black Lion's support very quickly.

>went way too overboard with the anime reaction comedy shit
>a fucking FILLER episode in a six episode season
>actually good tragic scene has no weight because it's abruptly followed up by resolution
>character development thrown out the window left and right
>asspulls reaching critical mass

This show just keeps getting worse.

Why do I feel like I am a slave to /vld/?

Where does he keep it? There is no way he could hide that thing in his skinny black pants
