The hell is it?

What is this? I haven't heard of another project from Hussie and that doesn't look like Hiveswap.

Looks like a "homestuck fanventure." If that doesn't scream shit, I don't know what does.

i know the guy who makes it and he says hes still doing it just out of spite for ah

Out of spite for ah?
What's ah?

al-andrew hussein

But pic related started out as a Homestuck fanventure with the twist being it's actually an Elder Scrolls fanfic and Sup Forums practically worships it.

Honestly always thought it was shit appart from lewds.

Not OP but its an older fan adventure that people herald as one of the greatest MSPA-inspired adventures.

It's got some neat ideas in some places but all in all the beginning doesn't hold up well and the rest really just doesn't work. The only thing saving it is the art really.

also i hate the way the phoenixes are designed colorwise its so bland and clashes.

No Vriska?
No chance in hell I care for these fanadventures.

>Caring about Vriska in a post-Act 5 world.

8ut she is the 8est.

Isn't the guy also a massive douche? Last I checked before the forums went under they got banned for being a pompous tool when people tried to cheer him up and give him feedback after he suddenly decided to end the comic before coming back to it.

I don't care about you-know-what anymore but anybody going out of his way to spite its creator is a pal of mine.

I need a rundown on what it is and how it's spiteful.

The story itself doesn't do anything directly spiteful towards Homestuck the Author just has a huge superiority complex over how he's a better person than Andrew Hussie and a better Writer than Andrew Hussie and will throw a shitfit if you mention Hiveswap within a five mile radius of him. He's literally only completing the story because he feels obligated to write a better ending than Homestuck's, not because he actually wants to.

It's not really that spiteful, it's mostly just Homestuck again but with worse writing, worse art and worse characters.

He is like that yeah
He has a ton of hangups about dumb shit also stuff that he is theoretically medicated for

Its just him wanting him to do it better I think. Or at least see it through to a satisfying conclusion. I couldnt tell you really

why would i look at Hexane again when best boy is right here?

Vast Error is the digital manifestation of "I use big words to sound smart"and the main author is about as smug as Hexane's. I mean Jesus Christ if you thought Act 6 of Homestuck was too wordy, Vast Error is somehow even wordier from the fucking start.
He is best boy though, you're not wrong.

Yeah, but unlike Hexane, VE's use of big words is warranted because the narrator is being flowery on purpose and has likable characters and a legitimate plot that isn't HS again.

Also, from what I've seen around of austinado, he's actually a pretty cool dude. Just a little overly ambitious and excitable.

Stopped not far in. The story is shit and the wit found in recurrent and matter-of-fact prose is lost absent.

That's rather pitiful. I suppose it's more motivation than many of us have, but from a source that toxic? The hatred is bound to ruin him from the inside like acid.

How far in? It doesn't really get going until Murrit's first conversation with Dismas.

>Sup Forums practically worships it.
Prequel threads are banned from Sup Forums because of what it's become.

what page is this?

A
Shit

mspfa.com/?s=2302&p=116

116, it's when talk about the game and White Noise begins. The beginning is mostly fucking around with Arcjec, Taz and Albion to lead up to this moment.

"If it is what it is, then why did any of this happen in the first place and why is it that whenever I try to look back all I see is how much better it was before you took everything that made myself have meaning and smashed it on the ground?"

Quote from VE. I don't think someone devoted enough to write this story is completely bereft of potential, but as the passage above demonstrates, he's missing what made Homestuck great. Arguably the most overtly dramatic Homestuck ever got with its characters was Karkat's relationship with Terezi, or Vriska's internal struggle-turned external crisis. Other than that, Homestuck was experimental stylism.

Oh only 116? I stopped at like 88, so I'll continue if there really is a jump in narrative quality.

That's the thing though, it's not HS again. You start out the gate kinda taking the piss out of HS and find out the main character is depressed and the rest of his friends are just as bad.

I get what you're saying, but I personally don't agree with it. VE isn't really mostly comedy centric, it's focus is more of a character study about a bunch of fucked up trolls.

Thats why you only stick to our shit
(going to add cult following and "you're someone" there soon)

And that's fair. This is just my take from what little I've seen so far. As I told another user, I'm checking it out again, so if the character study happens to be interesting maybe it does stand on its own, non-Hussian merits.

VE is pretty decent.
one of the guys who makes it unironically enjoys Sup Forums

If we're VE posting the EOA1 was actually pretty damn decent, I was a little worried it wouldn't be anything special.

Linux support is here, at least

Did you know Andrew contributed to the Machine of Death Kickstarter? I was surprised to see it.

...

Who was in the wrong there?

vriska is always right

witch weapon do you think would fit grampa Harley better?
A or B

Do you feel that any fan adventure, regardless of content, could be as good or nearly anywhere close to the popularity of the comic in it's heyday?

Don't say Prequel, I know you're out there Todd.

Go read Alabaster: The Doomed Session instead. It's amazing.

Not really, no. At the end of the day they're all aping something that's already been done, so they can never really achieve the same kind of give no fucks creativity HS had in its prime.

That doesn't mean fan adventures can't be really good, or even better than HS when taken as a whole, but they'll never match it at is peak.

See the post above yours. Read the comic from beginning to end, it's a bit rough around the edges at first, but it works really well and has actually made me feel more than HS ever did.

Is it bad to not be popular? Homestuck got big because trolls. I don't want this kind of audience reading my stuff.

I personally couldn't get into Alabaster, I know it's essentially like a bad on purpose comic with a lot of elements making fun of troll culture and bullshit but it's over the top schtick kinda wore thin on me by halfway.

That and I sadly couldn't get past a lot of the art, some of it is better than others but man those sprites hurt.

> everything inspired by Homestuck is shit
you give up too easily.

It isn't bad to not be popular, but you'd think that most people who make fan adventures would want an audience for one reason or another.

Whatever audience that is.

>tfw MSPAforums went down, no one was autistic enough to archive the finished quest zone with an internet archiver
I'm very ruffled by this fact, I wanted to re read an old small quest about characters interacting with user words
Oceanfalls caught my eye
Also all those "save the princess" quests on /qst/ & Sup Forums are fun to read.

You should check out all night laundry which is pretty interesting

>what it's become.
>Anthro cat fucking everything that moves when drunk
It was never not furry.

I would like an audience that does cosplay and buys my books and shirts, but not the ones who embody tumblr and reddit.

Oceans is kinda boring tbqh

And you're too stupid to know when to give up.

VIDEO GAME GET
(not willing to bet against there being bullshit Unity engine problems)

>green means grow
I'll say.

>and Sup Forums furfags practically worships it.
Fixed, also you furfags that created the ponifag fandom as well, Sup Forums always take the blame for furfags bullshits

Prequel also tries to do its own thing, both as a TES fic and a Homestuck fic. It also helps that Kazerad read and understands both better than most fans, and got rewarded by Bethesda actually putting his stuff in the new things.

>bad on purpose
Not really. That's just a set up that they give you at the start. Stick it out.

...

based on their personalities, most of the homestuck kids should be fatties.
That's why fat kids like homestuck.

Is that why my fat fetish likes Homestuck?

>fat personalities
What

Being fat is a choice and also affects how people treat you- fatness is a personality aspect and personality indicator.

No, your fat fetish like it because it's cardboard cut-out characters make for easy porn, so there's boatloads of homestuck fetish art for every color in the degenerate rainbow.

mspfa.com/?s=21597

Is this like being black-coded

Well there's no way I can refute that so you've got me there.

I miss Problem Sleuth

Read something like PAY DAT RENT!!!1 or Radical Dude, it'll probably be the closest you get to it.

Y'know, barring the stuff on MSPFA, what does Sup Forums think of Hussie's previous works, And It Don't Stop and Starlight Calliope. And maybe some other shit I'm forgetting I don't know.

Pretty good, but since he will never release them again its a shame. Or he does and cuts the "controversial" comics which will be double shame.

...

I think they're pretty much universally liked.

Since no one answered
I'll go with B then

The best fanventures are Be the Sea-dwelling Lowblood and Everyman, prove me wrong

>tfw your fanadventure was retarded dogshit but you kinda miss making it and seeing your two regular readers enjoy it.

Well you can always use the experience to improve.

...

>I'm not mad so let me spam this tag constantly, look how not mad I am
>you triggered straightbois?

...

>grape lollipops and strawberry mint chocolatechip icecream

Gross

It taught me just about everything I need to know about gimp, some pitfalls of story-telling, fun shit to do with animation, and that if you base things off of irl friends it can have the potential of becoming incredibly sad and unappealing to write if they start dying off or being arrested for pedophilia.

The one thing I don't miss about HSG is the constant exposure to stupid tumblrisms

Andrew based Dave on himself and fucked with a lot of kids so there's that.

>Andrew based Dave on himself
But Andrew isn't cool, he's a fish-lipped freak, I thought Dave was supposed to be a little Fonz.

I don't know, besides Oceanfalls and some few others like Vast error, Fortuna, etc, all the fanventures feel kinda pale to me in trying to capture the same feelings that the original Homestuck gave with its initial plot and plethora of characters

>expecting literally anything Homestuck related to not be shit
This is your own fault and I'm glad that you're unhappy.

i thought John was supposed to be Andrew

Dave isn't cool either, only Jade bought into that shit. Are you saying you're as dumb as Jade user?

k6bd really has no reason to be on this list

It started as a fanventure.

...

I find it funny seeing people on this board calling Hussie a cucked SJW (Not that that's particularly happening in this thread) while simultaneously seeing posts on tumblr about how he's an evil Anti-SJ Racist

>youtu.be/WFdUWxrzg5o
[s] Resume from Act Omega was hype as shit

If we're still on fan adventures, have you guys ever taken a listen to the good fan albums?

CANWC, Redditstuck and Vast Error all have some really nice releases as far as MSPFA goes but stuff like The 7th Gate Project, From Beta to Alpha, Beforus, Ancestral and obviously LOFAM are also all really good fan music efforts.
