Could the president just walk into area 51 or other secret bases?

Could the president just walk into area 51 or other secret bases?

Can the president of the united states just turn up announced at a military base and demand to see literally everything?

no that is illegal

why?

The president is often kept in the dark about extremely sensitive projects. Roosevelt wasn't told about the Manhattan project until it was nearly done. They can just claim they don't have what they're asking for.

They will try to steer him away, but they have no legal means to stop the President.
Quite literally the Commander in Chief. Higher rank than any General

A president is just a puppet.

Can the president change laws to fuck his kid brother?

sorry let me elaborate:
The President can not visit or gather intelligence outside the scope of their security clearance.

Yes but as says:
still a puppet that is essentially #1 in the food chain.

wow, mind = blown.

I always figured the president was automatically on a need-to-know basis on literally everything.

To further elaborate: very briefly
Lets just hypothetically say a model was created where the Governor of Nevada wanted to go to Area-51 with the national guard to go in and see what is there.

Best case:
Communications interception at planning stage derails plan by use of external forces.

Worst case:
All trespassers would be neutralized by on site security personnel.

Huh, how does that work out?
Doesnt he automatically have the highest security clearance there is?

Why would they not let him in area 51 or whatever secret side?

So who is higher in the system than the president?

governor has far less power than the president, right Sorry for lack of knowledge regarding this subject, just very curious about hypothetical situations

the joos

>I always figured the president was automatically on a need-to-know basis on literally everything.
No because the President is protected from information which can be harmful to the office which would then constitute a threat to national security.

Further measures have been instituted by executive order under Obama due to his hard work on this ratified by congress.

>Why would they not let him in area 51 or whatever secret side?
I never said they wouldnt let him in there. But he has no reason to be there or go there if that is what you mean and it would draw way every intelligence agency on the planet to spy on us more putting secured locations under a microscope drawing attention to them which are considered security assets.

Negative Mr President, you do not have clearance.

It is a sovrign base, unbound by US constituion. Extrajudicial bro.

Keep in mind also.... The president does not travel alone and his entourage, key staff that must be with him to secret service personnel would not have the clearances in any event so its kind of a moot discussion unless your implying if a President somehow escaped their security detail and all their staff and just wandered onto the base in some coke induced drunken bender.

No, not quite. President is Commander in Chief but Office of Naval Intelligence is the top brass.

There are only two scenarios.A shadow cabal/government who really control the the nation, and president is fighting these people to get his agenda through, but fails to do change.

second option

>implying the president does not need plausible deniability

It's segmented.

The President is the Commander in Chief of the US, and the leader of the entire US military.

If the guards didn't let him in, they would be rogue actors and the President could level the fucking base.

>There are only two scenarios.A shadow cabal/government who really control the the nation, and president is fighting these people to get his agenda through, but fails to do change.
its not about plausible deniability.... that is a made up legal construct please read above.

President doesnt fight anyone or anything and is a spokesman for the american people elected as such.

High level stuff like that is classified on a strictly need to know basis and even then is highly compartmentalized. Half the people working on the Manhattan Project didn't even know they were building bombs.

The president is one of the last people they believe "needs to know" about some of the blackest military projects. Chances are they will only tell him about it once the need to use the technology arises.

Yes. Everyone who says no is a dumbass. The President is the Commander in Chief of the military: he outranks EVERYONE.

You're fired. Your boss is fired. His boss is fired. And his boss is fired. And the boss over that boss is fired.

This is a person who has no idea how opsec actually works.

Not telling the president is different than refusing him access you retard

>He outranks everybody

Actually their are 7 intelligence levels above his head.

>Chances are they will only tell him about it once the need to use the technology arises.
There is no need to tell anyone anything because they wouldnt understand it. It will be applied to military/consumer markets once application fits production models to be viable.

> The President is the Commander in Chief of the military: he outranks EVERYONE.
Not the rest of his staff and security detail, so no the President would not just go around compromising national secrets exposing them not to himself but everyone around him.

And than Kennedy got a bullet, and his brother got a bullet. And then nobody asked those questions ever again.

This is a person who, if he actually were a guard at area 51, would be telling everyone in military prison about how 'the President can't just go inside area 51 (like he did after he had me arrested for interfering)'

And then the future presidents put a plan in place to launch nuclear war if they were ever hillary-clintoned by their own side.

yes tinfoils, literally all you need to do is become president and then you can walk into homie airport and say 'show me the ayy lmaos'

He can ask to be briefed on everything. There is a chance that some very secret things will be attempted to be held from him, but not flatly. If he insists, he could get any and all information from the federal government. As far as physical presence, even the President has to follow military protocols.

I'm sorry about your extra chromasomes. I'm rooting for ya, slugger.

Information is distributed according to two characteristics:
1. clearance
2. need to know

Somebody with clearance may not need to know, and so will not be told. Someone who 'needs to know' may not have clearance, and so will not be told.

The President doesn't need to know a lot of things, even if he does have clearance.

Pretty much this.

The president may have top level clearance, but without need to know, he won't be told shit.

I imagine the argument between the president and staff of the secret base would look very similar to the argument in this thread.

Sure. Alot of people go there for work. If you have business there you may have to have armed security escort you to where you need to be. And you may have to wear Black Out goggles as you are escorted to your destination. Some times you will be asked to keep your head turned, and eyes on the wall as you are escorted. There is secret stuff there. But I think they can send you to prison if you don't folow orders and see what you shouldn't.

I think it was Eisenhower once tried to get info about it and they told him to fuck off, then Eisenhower said he was gonna attack it with tanks or some shit

And then the president literally defunds everything and has people fired and replaced until he gets someone who will let him inside?

>but president doesn't handle budgets

It's a black site, nigger.

Memes aside, it's tacitly understood by the citizens that the US president is pretty much just a talking head at this point. No real power, so to speak. At least not any power that means anything.

>I imagine the argument between the president and staff of the secret base would look very similar to the argument in this thread.
it would eloquently be put as fuck off, your staff dont have clearance nor does your detail. also why not invite the whole country to view our research bro... now gtfo with your 50 person entourage.

Almost seems like you're already in prison. What's worse is you can't even retire because what you're working on technically shouldn't even be seen by you, the benefits must be amazing with the knowledge you have a death timer on you now for working there.

Rothschilds

you're the puppet

>Doesnt he automatically have the highest security clearance there is?

Not by a long shot. It's an open secret.

What the fuck do you think is even in area 51?

I'm guessing it's just secret air/space craft, weapons systems and other technology.

People attribute some fucking magic shit to it, but it's just advanced research and development.

FDR approved government research into a uranium fission weapon as early as 1939 and was kept apprised of their progress. You may be thinking of Truman who wasn't told until after FDR died in 1945.

After a guy from NASA leaked some designs and made the best squirt gun ever, imagine what wonders lie inside the 51 vault.

trump on the other hand, well let's just see how well area 51 plays complex manifold chess

monica

t. Grey

Why would you think there's still anything of interest at Groom Lake (known by idiots as Area 51)?

Doesn't take a genius to figure out they've almost certainly moved the most secret projects to a place that doesn't have tourists taking cell phone video just outside the gates.

Not if he doesn't have the need to know clearance.

Remember Truman didn't even know about the Manhattan project until the Generals told him.

Maybe. But the actual bases is miles from the gate people go to on YouTube. Can't see shit anymore. There is so much government owned land in Nevada that if you see the lights of something that is amazing.

Yes, the President is the Commander in Chief, he is the highest ranking member of the military and can give any service member orders.

This is why Presidents who have served in the military are a big deal to a lot of people (esp. veterans)

Departmental classification, I bet he doesn't know jack shit about a damn thing.

Could he ultimately force his way in? Yes. Will that mean he pisses off a lot of people who won't view him the same and might even quit? Yes.

No the president has a low-tier security clearence. Some presidents worse than others.

No. Special Access Projects require you to be "read in" by someone who has access, and you only get read in on a need-to-know basis.

So unless an issue comes up with a project that requires the President for some reason (highly unlikely) he would never be read in, and therefor would have no access.

The President is also hampered by his position as an elected politician with a term limit. There needs to be plausible deniability all over the place.

You would be surprised how little Presidents actually know or get to know.

ask yourself this question: is there something fishy going on?

if yes does he want to know? if no, he can just walk in because there s nothing to hide.

no he can, he could go and see anything he likes. after MK ultra was "noticed" congress gave the president power too.

He probably wouldn't, I mean sure the President is the commander in chief and if he made a big enough stink he could get in, but that's not really stuff they know other than the basics.

Even if he did want in they would probably only give him generalities.

Let's say someone from the air force or joint chiefs or DARPA might push for increased budgetary spending for projects or something and give him a general overview, but the details aren't really the presidents concern unless it's something major.

Probably, or maybe not, I don't know, I'm just speculating.
