To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Steven Universe. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of deep lore most of the good writing will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Steven's optimistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from anime , for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of this lore, to realise that they’re not just deep- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Steven Universe truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Greg's existential catchphrase "If every porkchop were perfect, we wouldn't have hotdogs" which itself is a cryptic reference to feel good slice of life anime. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Rebecca Sugar's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.
And yes, by the way, i DO have a SU tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

Not to come off as a troll or anything but as someone who's actually watched the show from the pilot and who has a Masters degree in Advanced Engineering I find the show an actually really clever and witty show. But seriously compare anything on modern tv to Rick and Morty and literally nothing is there that even comes close to tickling my intelligence on a level such as Rick and Morty. Every episode of R&M I actually feel smarter after watching and I lay wake for hours in my bed thinking of the some of the deep Philosophy I've just witnessed on national Television. I just say "Oh Man" as I'm hoping people around the globe such as myself are becoming enlightened with a show that is actually smart for once and the viewers are waking up to the corrupt capitalist system. I'm smirking just now while I type this out thinking of it.
