Parahumans 2 on the horizon

Now that Twig is finally over and WB has released his final thoughts, what do you think well get in Worm 2?

wildbow.wordpress.com/

So I should just stay off SB, Sup Forums and /lit/ for six months after it comes out?

Is that picture supposed to be during Behemoth?

Also I haven't read Twig or Pact yet but has Wildbow's writing gotten better?

>yet
Nix that. I'm not going to read them.

So hyped. I need to go back and reread Worm and then finish reading Twig.

You're missing out on Twig. I never finished it, but it was pretty great up from what I read.

Well it is going to be instalments,my so either you read, or you stay away for years.

I'm going to catch up on Twig and Pact.

I'll check it out if Worm 2 impresses me.

You really should. I mean, I'm biased because the base concept really tickled my pickle from the start, so if that doesn't instantly thrill you, then you may be left bored to tears. However, it's got some great characters in there and some cool scenes.

Really wish he'd hire an artist to scribble up one or two doodles per post.

>SB
Oh man, it got so bad they made a whole containment thread for Worm in the fanfiction subforum. The pure salt that resulted was fucking hilarious.

>The pure salt that resulted was fucking hilarious.
Haven't been on SB long but why were people so salty?

What's his endgame?

Because the site has become completely taken over by some of the biggest autists I've ever seen, combined with such an enormous glut of shitty Worm crossover that it's pretty much all these autists want to talk about.

So when the mods allow people an option to filter out Worm threads from view, and potentially limit exposure of the new Worm/Bleach story, those autists shit themselves with rage.

Subsuming?

Pact was lame, twig is pretty awesome so far except for the protagonist plot armor infinity+1

When is it supposed to start?

Soon™

I read the whole thing in pretty much a near vacuum. No interaction with the fandom at all after I started the story, basically. And it's been out for so long that there's not much talk about it around these parts anyway. I liked it for the most part, but I'm glad I didn't bother making myself familiar with community that's sprung from it. Would probably have put me off a smidgen.

It's not that bad really. I'm not really into it but it seems to be a comfortable little niche with enough healthy minded people to balance out the autists.

Probably the best thing to happen in ages.

When will people appreciate that Pact was flawed but awesome story?

At least the Toronto arc was great.

No spoilers. I just caught up to the Subjugation arc the other day.

I never read it, but the idea didn't really grab me like Worm or Twig did.

He lives off donations and it's barely minimum wage.

What makes you think he can afford that?

I was under the impression he had a job as well as writing.

Dude should really look into selling out.

>started reading worm after seeing a thread yesterday
>can't stop
help

I'm sorry user. Nothing can save you now.

He quit to write full time a few years ago. That's how he churns out two updates a week, around 10-15k words. An illustrator would have a hard time keeping up with him on his schedule.

You'll be able to sleep in around ten days.

He should get a Patreon.

People feel more comfortable with throwing money at that than random website.

he does have a patreon

He does have one, that's how he's been making minimum wage. Kinda sad how furry artists and porn comic patreons earn so much more than him though.

Huh. It's not linked to on his wordpress site.

2998 a month isn't that bad.

Has he converted the previously published stories to Kindle and put on Amazon? He'd probably get more money doing that (keeping in mind he doesn't have to delete the internet copies).

Patreon cuts off 15% and he loses some when he puts it through a currency exchange for Canadian bux. It's high for the average Patreon account, but low for what is essentially full time work.

He's still in the process of editing Worm. 1.7 mill words isn't a quick job to edit when you're writing updates for the current work. He is restructuring the timeskip and other major edits.

>Patreon cuts off 15% and he loses some when he puts it through a currency exchange for Canadian bux.
Plus whatever taxes he's gotta pay on that. Dude needs to just right up a script and contact HBO or some shit.

He has been contacted by producers.
One of his posts somewhere said they ended up disappointing him, because he could tell some of them hadn't read the story. And others offered him one sided contracts that took all rights and control over his IP.

>because he could tell some of them hadn't read the story
To be fair it is it is long as goddamn fuck. But yeah selling your IP is right out of the window. Don't want Wildbow to end up like Moore.

Therea gona be some Parahumans Online chapters for the next 2 weeks or so to build up hype/set the mood

To be fair, it's a long ass story.

But yeah he should make sure to keep control, so manyw riters get fucked.

If producers took control, TV Taylor would be a hot 26 year old actress. Is that so bad?

Rip Eragon

That movie doesn't exist in my mind

Eragon was always shit

Who cares how long it is? If you want to do something with it, then read it. Only a true piece of shit would not finish it and want to make a TV show or movie or something.

Almost no producer is going to have the time to read all 1.7million words

Then they shouldn't try to produce anything based on 1.7 million words.

A fucking lot of it is just descriptions of fighting.

So?

What's she planning Sup Forums?

Eidolon 2.0

To raise Eidolon right this time.

To give every man who wants one a robot waifu.

does anyone else here listen to we got worm and is anyone else impressed by how completly batshit wrong they are about everything
like i undertand taylor is not a good person but these guys shit their pants because she thinks killing members of the slaughterhouse 9 is a good thing

The WGW guys wank over Superman and JL Picard. They are so white on the morality grayness scale that they can't justify killing people for any reason, good or not. Not even Cherish or Shatterbird.

But I think they're doing a fair job of interpreting Taylor's unreliable narration filters. It's hard to form an idea of how bad Taylor is when you listen to her explain why falling down the slippery slope of bad ideas is a good thing.

what bothers me the most about them is how they keep insisting that people should trust the system and how taylor has no right to do what she does when she and the undersiders were basically the one thing keeping brockton bay functioning at all and the PRT was shown to be corrupted as shit.
they are always on about "there has to be a better way" when the slaughterhouse nine and god knows what else keep fucking over the city every other week or when taylor has to deal with people in her own territory trying to start up shit and they seem unable to grasp that these are desperate times

The thing you have to realize is how much Taylor's circumstances set her up as the victim under the oppression of the authorities. That is what shapes her perspective and narration. That is why everything she does she feels was the right thing to do, and why the readers think that too.

The teachers and school did nothing about the bullying problem. Piggot and the PRT did nothing about Shadow Stalker because the teachers and school never told them about the discipline issues, and they wanted to keep the Wards funding. Danny Hebert did nothing because Taylor never told him. Armsmaster was an obstructive dick because he thought her plan to infiltrate a villain gang was pants on head retarded. All in all, it makes Taylor think that the authorities are corrupt and EVUL from the bottom up, but that's not true. People like Chevalier, Miss Militia, Glen Chambers, and Dr. Yamada are great. They work for the system because they have reason to believe in the system. Taylor is the only whose bad luck with individual authorities has shaped her perspective to believe that authorities are all wrong.
There IS a better way, and it's not through letting a parahuman warlord secede from an American city to create her own personal fiefdom run under her brand of justice, which involves bee sting torture against American citizens who break her arbitrary list of rules. Because Taylor can be pretty goddamn arbitrary. When you notice that her perspective separates people in either bullies or victims, she puts anyone who stands up to her in the bully box and discounts what they say. Case in point: There was a medical paramedic/doctor who is killed by Mannequin after the S9 arrive to Brockton, and her reasonable medical advice was made to seem pointless and annoying from Taylor's point of view. Because the doctor was seen as authority figure who wasn't afraid of Big Scary Skitter, and we can't be having that in Skitter Territory.
