Why do people think Velma > Daphne?

Why do people think Velma > Daphne?

Because Velma was barely less bland than Daphne. And have a friendly reminder Scooby-Doo Cyber Chase defined a generation.

Contrarianism. Daphne is objectively hotter

Because (in most versions of the cast) she's a friendly nerd and Daphne's kind of aloof and vapid.

The Mystery Incorporated version deliberately bucked this convention by having Velma be a grumpy asshole and Daphne charmingly earnest.

The alluring mystery of what she's keeping hidden in that sweater.

Daphne's out of our league

>2006-2008
what, what?

>mfw there's people who actually rate Cyber Chase as good as Zombie Island and Witch's Ghost
I can at least understand why the pedo waifufags circlejerk over Ghoul School, but I'll never understand why anyone could possible think Cyber Chase is a good movie.

Bimbos are even less human than any other kind of a subhuman known as "female"

>Velma is friendly

What year is it?

I guarantee you the answer is 'They got it on VHS at like, 5-7 years old, then watched it religiously'

The year where she let's my touch those teetays

Why did Scooby Doo series seem to pick up during the 2000s?

Nostalgia kicked in?

Better writing

just to clarify what I meant, I mean why did Scooby Doo pick up in popularity
Seems like 80s through 90s was just 1 show

Holy shit 2006+ looks like garbage.

Nostalgia + Hey it's that old cartoon show!

>friendly
>what year is it?

They're probably excluding MI Velma's personality and focusing on how she's portrayed collectively. Not that I blame them.

>2006+

Not a MI (2010-13) lover but don't knock it till you try it. It's very pretty at times.

>this entire post
Said. Nobody. Ever.

Granted its the least offensive of the three, still not a fan.

...

>Velma thicc
Please, she's as thicc as a north korean

What's the one thing you hope the franchise will eventually do? Hard mode: Be realistic.

I watched Dracula: Sovereign of The Damned over and over as a kid, but I would never argue that it's a well made movie. I even remember that the first time I saw Cyber Chase as a kid I actually got sad, because it was the movie that made me certain that the Scooby Doo movies were back to being bargain-bin shit. I had feared it with the alien one because it was so bland after the other two, but Cyber Chase was what cemented the fall from grace.

the velma >dahpine thing ONLY started in the last 5-7 years tops or whenever THICK became a thing.

I'll never understand why people think Velma is thick simply because she wears an oversized sweater

She also has a rounder face compared to Daphne, which can give the impression that her overall body is "softer".

>velma
>thick

pick one

>people actually care about any of those whores
Fred is a patrician's choice.

To be fair, her tits look pretty big in the 72-73 panel

They've been to a giant city built by a crazy billionaire on the moon. Nothing is off limit.

Bring back Vincent Van Ghoul and Flim-Flam.(Shut up, he's not that bad) Bring back Mystery Inc, the only unironically good series.

I hated how Mystery Inc. treated Flim-Flam and Scrappy in that one scene.

>They've been to a giant city built by a crazy billionaire on the moon.
>Nothing is off limit.

I said that more to dissuade the waifufagging and 'those' kinds of posts.

Especially when it's been proven several times that Velma is quite curvy when she's not wearing it.

Get rid of the fucking doggo

>Hard mode: Be realistic.

Get cancelled forever

Because you can still make out her curves even through that oversized sweater.

Hey, I’ll have you know that you’re absolutely correct

>dem hex girls

also what about Scooby Doo Alien Invaders?

My memory says it was good but my gut says piece of shit

I haven't watched it in like a decade, but I remember it being quite a bit worse than the other two, but still leagues above Cyber Chase.
I think Zombie Island and Witch's Ghost worked so well because of the settings. You had a spooky New Orleans plantation and then a comfy New England town filled with townspeople. The Area 51 setting is just a fucking bland desert both in climate, atmosphere and characters.

Eh, Alien Invaders really had nothing compelling or unique. In all honesty the only thing I could remember were the real aliens and the ending. Out of all those movies it played with the 'this is real' concept the least.

Part of me thinks it was kind of a wasted potential.

I've been considering going in and watching a few of the Scooby-Doo series, can someone give me a definitive tier list?

I've heard Mystery Inc. is really good and I liked Pup when I was a kid, but besides that I don't really know what to expect.

I prefer cute girls over pretty girls. Daphne looks too dolled up for me, like a model, while Velma looks like that awkward girl next door type.

Seriously, even when I was a kid and caught it on the Cartoon Network, I could tell it was crap.

This is grade A bullshit. You might not have noticed it, but Velma has always had plenty of fans and plenty of porn.

Was that the one with the hippie girl who turned out to be a grey that fucked Shaggie?

If so, that one is worthwhile if only for the animation, I caught it on CN a while back and holy shit, dat shading looks excellent, the shots with the desert and the UFOs and shit are gorgeous af.

>ambition: to get into MENSA
Her ambition is literally to pay 30$ to take a fucking test, just so you can start paying a 80$ annual fee?

t. got into MENSA just so people would stop bringing that up around the gym.

Start with the original (or at least a few of the earlier ones) to get a better understanding of the context and 'gravity/prupose' of some of the changes/choices in later series

Stuff like Zombie Island would have a little more weight knowing what the franchise was like back in the day.

> it was important to ME therefore it was generationally important
fuck off millennial

>why CAN'T more girls be like Rarity?

Reminder Scarlett (seen here) was a Sup Forums drawfag here until creepy faggots saw this and scared her off

>I mean why did Scooby Doo pick up in popularity
Oldfag here, as in I remember the original series.

Two things did it:
1. progressively better and more self-aware writing
2. internet porn

It's pretty much just a normal scooby doo episode aside from Shaggy and Scooby fucking ayy lmaos.

Friend of mine nagged me to join MENSA
"Are you trying to take over the world?"
"No, it's really jus--"
"Then why the fuck would I join?"

>butthurt roastie

If you join to MENSA it means you are not so smart

to be fair she is 15 in that chart an age notorious for poor decision making

How many other 27-30 year olds here watched this?

I completely missed the 06-08 one, what the fuck

No one remembers Get a Clue.

Vincent Price is dead though

oh we remember...we remember.

Do you user? Do you really?

It aired on Kids WB after The WB died in summer 2006 and the block moved to the CW in fall 2006.

Nobody watched Kids WB on the CW because the new shows sucked and, without Pokemon, they couldn't sustain popularity, so they killed the block in 2008.

Honestly, I think it's a mix of her genuinely being a person's type (nerd characteristics), people bringing in real world baggage or forcing their own fixations to her when they don't really match, and contrarianism.

I like Daphne because she looks good; Velma never looked good to me outside of maybe 3 of these pictures.

I didn't know it existed until years after it ended, by checking wikipedia.

No. There are no canon ages for these characters.

Cartoon Network. CN started in the 90's, but it's golden age lasted until the mid-2000's and by then Scooby had resuged in popularity due to them reairing old episodes of the 60s series.

Well... I liked the final episode.

Is weird that nobody in the show note how busty she is.

...

It's not like they can directly say "Hey Velma, I just noticed you're fucking stacked!"

What I find even weirder is that four teenagers who travel the country together and constantly get into life-or-death situations aren't fucking each other's brains out

I want that anime adaption with real ghosts and monsters.
The show will be less about who the Joe Nobody behind the mask is, but rather how to stop the actual ghost from dragging your soul to hell kind of stuff.

Why has Fred gone from classic jock to effeminate muso?

I generally prefer Velma but I would fuck the shit out of 88-91 Daphne

How the fuck is tomboy a color. Also, how can her ambition be to get into MENSA? They're not MIT, you don't have to accomplish anything to join them. You go in, they test your IQ and you are either allowed to join their weekly dick-stroking session or they tell you to fuck off.

>4'9
Fucking womanlets, when will they learn?

>real ghosts and monsters
Whenever they do it that ruins it. Misses the whole point of Scooby Doo. Its traditionally a very skeptically-orientated show.

Yeah it's about a bunch of sceptics going around the US debunking shit while not realizing that they have a an intelligent talking dog, which is more outlandish than whatever shit they are debunking.

Isn't it time for this franchise to ascend to even greater heights than Mystery Incorporated?

>Show focusing on the cross-country adventures a la Where are You?
>One in four episodes is a comedic episode a la Jose Chungs from Outer Space
>One in three mysteries is legitimately supernatural
>The crimes are of significantly higher degree
>Sometimes the gang finds out something is truly supernatural because instead of abducting a previous obvious suspect, the monster just flat out eviscerates them
>Shaggy covered in internal organs, ZOINKS
>Deadly Traps Authorized
>Show also features a heartaching subplot involving the long-distance relationship between Velma and Hot Dog Water
>I'm talking Blue is the Warmest Colour levels of romantic tragedy.
>Overarching plot relates to the true existance of the supernatural
>And the fact that a shadow government, Majestic 12, keeps the knowledge hidden for their own personal gain
>Progressively sets up a web of interactions between the main cast and secondary characters
>Many of them we had seen before, like Alice May, Vincent van Ghoul and Dr. Spartan
>Some of them will be killed as part of the cover-up, driving the gang to swear vengeance!
>The show accomplished all this without sacrificing heart, humour or monster-of-the week episodes. It is also accompanied with a haunting, serene and conflictive soundtrack.
>Eventually constructs the basis for a Hanna-Barberaverse featuring the return of Dynomutt & Blue Falcon, Space Ghost, Johnny Quest, even motherfucking Batman.
>Is animated entirely in Dark Deco style.
>TBC

>The gang comes back to Crystal Cove for Daphne and Fred's wedding after one year of university & mysteries
>But instead of the Sunniest Place on Earth they return to an abandoned town covered in fog. The phantom of old timeline seeps into the current moment.
>It's a Silent Hill-themed 3-part season finale
>The gang must confront their inner anxieties, guilts and emotional backlash as a result of the timeline shift
>Fred must overcome his misgivings of his old family and the trepidation of starting a new one
>Daphne has to truly and completely cauterize her rising doubts that her love for Fred isn't of her own free will
>Velma is struggling to maintain her sanity being confronted with the unexplainable and supernatural, and feels her kinship with the team slipping
>Shaggy is mourning the innocence he's lost having witnessed so many cold-hearted murders as a consequence of not some evil deity but just the ordinary villainy of man
>It is up to Scooby Doo to guide them through the cursed Otherworld
>Together they weather the nightmare and come into Crystal Cove with their sins behind them, truly ready to grow new roots with their new past
>But that is when the other dark Anunnaki arrive to colonise the planet under the pretense of an alliance, welcomed by MJ12's interference in the world governments
>Black Lodges worldwide instigate the rise of dark possessive spirits that drive humanity mad and steal the best parts of inquisitive individuals accross the globe
>It is up to the gang and their accumulated allies to save the world from a terraforming process that involves reality-warping the Earth into the Hell from Event Horizon

How can this be accomplished Sup Forums? Or is there no way to top SDMI without failing miserably?

>15
wtf im pedo now

A little too edgy and ambitious

Shaggy and Scooby Get a Clue is that ones name I think

Excuse you, Zombie Island was fucking gold

>X Files, Silent Hill and Twin Peaks are edgy
>When Mystery Inc was already three-quarters of the way through that door
Why do you hate good things Satan?
On a side note, Daphne needs to get into medicine so she can cure wounds and perform autopsies.

You have Maurice Lamarche for that.

Hey man womanlet girl for a manlet guy such as myself seems like a win win to me

>2006-2008
What the fuck. I didn't watch TV and was just a Sup Forumstard during this period. Never saw the style that I can remember. I just thought they needed a break. I grew up on all the previous though. Also watched Mystery Incorporated and it was fantastic. I've heard good things about the new ones. I'm pretty confident I've seen every episode and movie from 2005 and before.

Daphne is pretty generic pretty girl so while she is attractive there is nothing special about her.
Velma unintentionally hits a shit load of fetishes in her character design which is why the internet took to her far more.

Liking Daphne more is one which is contrarian dumbass.

>4'9
>95 lbs

IMAGINE

user, kids show. Really little kids show.

She was less boring than the overdone pretty girl.
Until Mystery Inc, where Daphne became best girl.

Maybe it's my own insecurities are talking, but Daphne (at least until Mystery Inc.) always struck me as the type who would bellitle you all the time if you get involved in a relationship with her. She would nag about your income, your sexual prowess, your apartment, etc.

And all her little bit of body fat is all in the right places. They sure don't make them like they used to I tell ya what
