comic will be done soon

>tfw I made a webcomic only to draw porn of my own characters

is that "only to" meaning "I only did the comic so that I could.." or "I started to do the comic, but then the only thing I did was.." ?
also that gif is just plain hot and always will be

>"I only did the comic so that I could.."
this

Interesting. Not sure how the comic gave you an excuse you didn't already have, but.. neat.

let this be the last

Hey look it's everyone! Lobster did it! Just like he promised. Just in time for everything to be fine.

my comic.

you used almost the same character pose in each panel. even the one where she's sitting on the bed: unless that's intentional (??), I'd recommend mixing it up a little.

West tree the comic is on pause. Busy with the halloween special... among other things.

Jack is dressing up as Megumin this year.

pretty gay m8

For real?

I guess I could redraw it. Thank, bones.

Does anyone else hate that most amatuer art critique entirely resolves around "anatomy and perspective" or pretty much just "anatomy" (like they mainly talk about the proportions of the human body)? Noone talks about line thickness or shape or sillohetes or composition or colour, or even the actual content of the drawing itself. I personally would consider a art with really phoned in backgrounds, like every bedroom has one window, one bed and one bedside table, or all the bystanders are just wearing shirts and jeans a really major problem. Another thing they never talk about is how stiff or natural the poses are, or maybe the artist has a really limited vocabulary of poses and can only draw a simple walk, sit and stand pose.

we occasionally get talks of line-thicknesses and the varying and tapering of them.
silhouettes is a meme. composition is really hard to get across to someone as critique rather than general instruction. and 99% of the comments I make are about the actual content of the drawing itself, because that's what I care about most.
In real life, most panels in most comics phone in the background once it's been established
and people who only draw a few poses are aware of that, and it would help more if you told them specifically what kind of pose would have worked better in a given scene.

Oops, I can't redraw it. I don't know, I kind of like it.

I will try experimenting next week.

Here's Friday's update.

capeworldcomics.com/

Can you guess where I made a typo on this page?

Sorry about it being so words words words. I'm still learning how to script comics. I promise not to be so words words words in the future.

oh i know
it's Dog, right?

that's because most of the people really don't have that highly-skilled artwork. anatomy are perspective are some of the most basic things artists should know, and form learning that you prepare yourself for a shit ton of subjects. i give critiques here sometimes, and anatomy is a subject that pops up a lot just because a lot of people here are bad at it.

Reminds me of that part of Harlan Ellison's Deathbird where God is equated to a sick sick dog.

Use the needle.

boy between that and must-scream he's just a real jolly fella huh

Deathbird ended on a high note though. Hardcore fedora tipping aside it's a story about the last (and first) man on Earth making it so that humanity and Mother Earth goes out with dignity against their oppressor.

I have no mouth was just pure pain. Like how Jefty is five was just pure pain.

Just die already

You too

that is one WIIIIIIIIIIDE face man.

>Not told to die

Does this mean I'm accepted or shunned?

yes

I'll take it!

First page of Witchway's Witch in case someone missed it

bump

Tell us more about this.

Don't want to go too deep into details I haven't even shared with my artist yet.

Here's the official description:
>In the small town of Witchway lives Marie, a 13-year old orphan whose parents went missing when the resident Witch became deranged and cursed those who lived in the town.
>Marie is joined by her two best friends; Morgan and Milly, granddaughters of the deranged Witch. Morgan is a hot-headed Witch-in-training determined to clear her family's name and Milly is the last living Witch who's always far too laid back and carefree about her magic for anyone's comfort.
>Together the three will have to fight other forms of magic, mythical creatures, and uncover the secrets of Witchway to find out what happened to Marie's parents.

There'll be other side characters that show up in later pages, often tied in with monsters and creatures around Witchway:
>Tracy, an 11 year old Sorceress-in-training and self proclaimed rival to Marie and Morgan. She often acts more as a nuisance than a real threat. But secretly she just wants to be friends with them.
>Dexter Bower IV, a warlock from the year 1974 who was sent to the present day when the time machine in his lab was destroyed. He's a very aggressive man who's constantly playing a game of cat and mouse with the other man who was flung forwards in time-
>-Shoji Okada, a detective and motorcycle enthusiast who was enhanced with cybornetic parts against his will. He followed Dexter in hopes of finding the people responsible for his transformation, but was also caught in the time warp. Whenever he's around the legendary Mothman isn't too far behind.
>Chupacabro, Marie's pet Chupacabra. Loves to eat small rodents and it's favorite pastime is chewing on Morgan's hair.

There's more details and stuff already planned out, but I'll keep that quiet until later.

Who'se comic is worse: dewd or coldfusion?

Why don't we talk about good comics?

New chapter will post this weekend.

I know we shouldn't be too excited, but I'm hella excited. A user on The Duck made a theme song for our comic to play during a podcast called the Quackcast.

Anyone interested can go here:

Plays at around 4:50.

Little things like this make it easy to stay motivated.

What keeps you ladies and gentlemen motivated? Readers? Comments? Your mom? Your story itself? Something I've been thinking about for the last couple months.

I LOVE this style. Everyone looks like Olive Oil. This shit is super cute.

...

Nudge the dialogue in panel 3 up a bit. There's plenty of space at the top, and "whatever reason" is hitting right up against the edges of the balloon.

Dewd has panel distribution that triggers my OCD and kinda inferior art, but ColdFusion is more disturbing with the whole underage/no panties/period cups tones even if they aren't the main focus of the comic, so he wins.

Finished another page!
ms robot takes off!

I also got some feedback regarding the comic's logo in the last thread, sorry for not replying earlier on that but I did read it and will rework a few things with the friend I'm doing this with.

Coldfusion is pretty gross, but at the very least he's willing to stop his comic and focus on improving his art, something Dewd would never do. Coldfusion has seemingly done thousands of pages of comics across an uncomfortably long span of time without ever accruing an audience or meaningful compensation and only receiving negative attention, while the Dewd seems to only work on anything out of some grasp for validation. Coldfusion has some genuinely odd and rather nauseating beliefs and fixations but I have never doubted his sincerity even when he knows nobody will agree with him. The Dewd only functions through poor emulations of more popular work, and does not seem to hold his work to any real standard. In spite of Coldfusion's advanced age, I still think he has more of a chance of improvement than the Dewd, because the Dewd has shown repeatedly that he is willing to publish whatever he shits out in a half an hour, no matter how rough or broken, and he'll proudly conclude it's good enough.

It's remarkable that The Dewd has managed to be more pathetic and needy than a 30 something manchild. I think he should follow Coldfusion's example and do what (I hope) he's doing right now; take time off the comic, do some self-examination, and start holding himself to a higher standard. God damn.

Remember that one time Dewd partnered up with a scam publishing start up company to get his works published?

Good times.

i made this hoping to make a model in blender.

You forgot the link, guy. Also that is awesome. I've been featured on a podcast and it's pretty sweet, even if it was more of a roast.

>full size ant people
>tiny flies on food
well I guess that makes sense

link the podcast

well-put
lest you give me too much credit, though, it's not so much "taking time off" as just... the story's over. Whatever told me to keep this one going for almost exactly 10 years is telling me to stop now.

Fuckin hell man that was great

>thinking a dude who hasn't improve in the last 10 years is going to suddenly start improving now
Even Dewd has made miles more progress than CF in a fraction of that time. I can't believe I'm defending Dewd right now, but he's definitely the better artist of the two, and while I'm not fond of his animations, people actually watch them, and people actually pay for them. Dewd's miles more successful as a 20 year old than CF is in his 30's

You have an odd definition of 'miles more'.

Your opinion is trash. There has been no improvement in any of Dewd's work

Could anyone tell me the name of a comic that used to be posted here? It was well drawn in a black and white shonen manga style, with crazy action and effects. One of the characters was black

you should make sure the font is all the same size, otherwise it looks amateurish

Is it the bridgefirecomics guy?

don't get me wrong, his stuff's not good, but he's improved a lot more than cf has in the same time

Roger roger. I'll make sure that gets fixed in later pages.

Hold on, don't do that. That's not a rule. The different text sizes look good. Ideally though they should represent some kind of change in volume.

progress-deniers are hilarious enough, and they hit the both of us all the time, but it's extra funny trying to imply one of us has improved and the other hasn't. You'd have to be blind not to see we both have, and that Dewd has wayyy more in the same time. He's already slightly better than I was at his age, and he's on pace to eclipse me in about 18-24 months by my estimation, depending on when 3D finally clicks in his head and/or when he gets the motor control and patience to draw circles and parallel lines.

>18-24 months by my estimation

Lol your such a dork.

divergent evolution

hey this is cool . do you have a website?

Not really, gonna wait till I get the first chapter done before making a website.

...

...

new page on the way later on tonight unless I get distracted by video games! lol ^^ :DDDD

heres a video I just uploaded for my last page: youtube.com/watch?v=tuB6dRElT80&feature=youtu.be

hope yall like it. going back and merging all my FATES CHAOS videos into one video that will be called "WATCH ME MAKE FATES CHAOS CHAPTER 1!"

It will be available sometime tomorrow maybe...

>professional artist friend comes up with an oc
>wants me to write the comic series about her for him to draw
>write some comics for him
>he likes them
>brings me on to co-write another comic project he's had in progress that he has another artist/writer for already
>i can't draw or do anything design-wise
>i can barely even write, but he seems to like it
i guess i'm doing this now

grats! you've found your niche
If you still feel like drawing, you can still learn, and it will help inform your comic writing since you'll know what looks good, what's possible to draw, etc (something I wish some of my commission customers did when they ask for impossible things)

I want to be you

So I posted my comic on tapas, I think i'm getting more readings. I'm happy and also, I got someone who likes my comic who wants to do some music for me. Sounds cool.

if anyone's comic would benefit from musical accompainment, it's yours

Why do we keep making these threads?

almost done...

what's your hearthstone rank?

Have you not seen some of the comics posted?

Shit like these look pretty good for being Sup Forums OCs
If almost every namefag and every tripfag fucked right off we'd have so much better discussion going around.

indeed. I hope this proposition leads to something. Else i'm gonna get back to square fucking one and look for musicians once again.

It must have have been. thanks bud

and its done, I hope yall like it! :D

Only 7 pages left in this second chapter! So close to being done and working on something else! :D

you can read past pages here: ggz.thecomicseries.com/

15... please dont bully...

>Defending pedofusion
>All these people agreeing
I know these threads are shit but I didn't think it was this bad.

bump

oh shit, yeah thanks. missed that.

theduckwebcomics.com/quackcast/episode-344-activereactive-characters/

There wouldn't be anything to discuss, what does /hyw/ stand for again? This is a place for everyone to come and discuss each other's work and help each other improve.

Where is your comic? If all I gotta do to stop triggering you is remove our name then I will, but cheese and crackers, calm yourself.

It's so rare when anyone identifies a name or a comic when laying shit on others in here, it's funny that they expect their targets and opponents to do so during arguments.

interesting concept. I have trouble writing active characters because I tend to find them kind of discomforting. Reactivity is really all we have, and it's what drives most stories I'm aware of. A lot of times perceived action is really just reaction of an undisclosed initial cause

i desperately want to be able to draw, but i never seem to be able to learn
i feel kind of like a hack for being unable to return gift-art to friends of mine that draw things for me

all you have to do is spend years online accidentally befriending talented and skilled artists through absolutely no fault of your own other than seemingly having a magnetic personality
its easy

Notice how I mentioned your comic was worth reading and I said "most" namefags.

Quit finding excuses to get defensive.

all talents are equally great, even if they aren't all equally gift-y. donworryaboutit. 'sides, Sup Forums has taught me that a lot of people actually enjoy short stories as a consumable art form. I know I do, but I wouldn't exactly commission greentext.

Yeah the podcast itself was pretty interesting.

You never said that, reread your post.

Not to defend the defensivenessfag, but he actually did say that. see >Shit like these (linked yours) look pretty good for being Sup Forums OCs (backhanded compliment)
>-almost- every namefag and tripfag

He's quite wrong in general but he's right about not directly attacking you.

>You never said that, reread your post
And filtered. I don't have the patience to deal with tools who aspire to be writers and artists when they can't even read past the first word.

Good luck to you and your comic, you immense faggot.

>I can't forgive a single mistake
Hope you never find yourself on the other end of that .45 judgemagnum. or maybe you already have and that's why you're like this. end the cycle, user.

These threads just keep getting worse and worse, let this be the last

Omg, I'm an idiot. I misread the post. The links he mentioned aren't what he was referring too.

Whenever I respond to something I put the link at the top and the reply at the bottom. He did do that but the links he used are the references mentioned above, and the text underneath is semi-unrelated.

I just misinterpreted the format.

Sorry for that, user.

Although I still think you should be less judgmental of others posting methods.

The reality is that we could really have better threads/discussions if people would stop hating on who people are and instead critiqued their ideas, designs, and stories. Not derail actual conversations with, "you're wrong because your so-and-so."

Attack the ideas.

Oh yeah you're right. Somehow that didn't confuse me at all, but people rarely list below a point like that.

this, just let it die

You assholes should remove your names and tripcodes and let your work speak for yourselves, the advantage of using the Sup Forums board is anonymity so you can de-associate from your work and avoid the criticism blast going directly towards you, how retarded can you faggots be?

Most of us only use a name when we're posting our work or posting about our work. In the former case, it helps associate the name with the work, so that in the latter case, people know who they're talking to without them having to provide a link to the work every time.

Doesn't matter to handle a link if your work is posted here, 90% of the comics posted in this shithole are ass pulls

fuck off stop trying to kill the threads

these should threads die already, they're far past the due date

Go to bed, user. You're drunk

does anyone here follow any decent webcomics? i need to read some good ones to get in the mood, just not feeling creative recently

Lately I've gotten into
>Po's Little Planet
>A Budgie's Life
>Minnie n' Slug (it's back!)
>Scurry
>Zukahnaut
>Modest Medusa
>Atomic Robo
those are all quality comics.
