too soon to say. but since he fridged Drift in season 1 of mtmte only for him to return at the end of MTMTE, it's likely the same case for Megatron

He did claim Megatron was essentially too hard to write and that he wasn't good at divvying up character screentime properly, and I can believe he's not up to the task when looking at Megatron in Lost Light vs. MTMTE. The whole point of his abandoning his pacifism to kill the DJD seemed to be abandoning a black/white ideology and putting ideology itself behind the safety of his crew, then as soon as LL starts it's straight to "muh pacifism! character arc finished, peace through empathy, orion pax is my husbando", like we missed a huge chunk of character development between the two books.
