Does animation count? Because I always liked
the Justice League episode, "For the man who has everything".

Actually that's based on the comic For the Man who has Everything by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons of later Watchmen fame.

The comic's arguably even better.

You know what I mean. I'm looking for quality Superman stories that don't serve as a meta-analysis of the character (ie Morrison)

Joe Casey Adventures of Superman issues that aren't part of some crossover

Whatever happened to the man of tomorrow (is the end of pre-crisis superman although he come back in superman/batman)

Up Up and Away is good.
Also I like Johns run (superman and the legion of superheroes for example)
