When Sup Forums and Sup Forums collide

>when Sup Forums and Sup Forums collide
It's also canon, how often does that happen
Seriously, I'm asking for examples so I can check them out

It depends on what you want to count. Classic Sup Forums things like Ghostbusters and the Transformers movie had Sup Forums studios involved in animating them (especially Ghostbusters, the backgrounds and people are anime as fuck most of the time), so there's a ton of 80s shit that would count.

If you mean thing that have Sup Forums and Sup Forums adaptions the pool is more limited, but you've got stuff like the Marvel animes and Gotham Knight and whatnot.

There are only a few chapters of this and it seems to follow some new 52 continuity. They just introduced ocean master

I guess what I'm looking for is western takes on eastern IPs and vice versa, I only knew about Witchblade and the marvel animes and was wondering what else there was

This confuses me. Wasn't Witchblade a western comic that was turned into an anime? Why are they making a comic based on the anime? Is this a copy of a copy of a copy? Will this book also get an anime adaptation?

There was also a manga about the bearer before Masane and like 3 generations after Sara

There's a lot of alternative batman toys out there. Some of them look cool

It's set in the future of the comics where another chick is wearing the Witchblade after Sara Pezzini died/passed it on. It's kind of cheap because it doesn't reference the books at all.

Fray is a sequel to Buffy set centuries in the future

I guess you could count all the Sup Forums stuff Marvel has done canon if you count in the multiverse. Spider-Verse had 70s jap Spiderman show up i think.

There's manga based on the marvel movies called zombies attack or something

I think the golgo 13 guy wrote a wolverine comic once. It might have been someone else though I think it was the crying freeman guy

>Black sclera

This show always felt like an anime to me and I prefer it that way.

Verotika got some porn doujin guys to make comics for them. They also almost made an ova
youtube.com/watch?v=mGVzzmaGTbw

There was the Avengers/Attack on Titan crossover a few years ago. It was only a few pages long though so probably not what you're looking for

the cool thing about Supaidaman is that he wasn't just a tokusatsu adaptation of Spidey, he set a lot of the hallmarks for future toku, esp. sentai shows.

and don't talk about Spider-Verse as anything good. It was a spiteful hatchet piece on Spidey's own history.

Pic not related, I'm assuming.

>tfw you had chipotle for lunch

Aren't the overwhelming majority of cartoons and anime made in Korea now?

Here's a gay nightwing figure for fujoshi

>Character designs by the futa master himself
HHHHNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGG!

Cyborg 009 had an American Comic

Pete lay off the Indian food before you go swinging

>and don't talk about Spider-Verse as anything good. It was a spiteful hatchet piece on Spidey's own history.
I want to take the opportunity to complain about spider verse here
>all the previous incarnations of this story are weak and dorky except mine teehee!

Did someone say /aco/?

Moebius had a manga with Taniguchi on the art, which may not have been the best division of labour since Moebius is an amazing artist but not a very good writer.

I remember reading this as a young teen, don't remember if it was good or not though.
Written by the girl who did Smile and Drama. Issustrated by an actual mangaka.

*llustrated

>1-800-contacts? They can't have my brand! I have special eyes.

I read it, its shit.

Looks like a CLAMP knock off

There is Snikt!, a marvel comic by Tsutomu Nihei that feels like a Wolverine/Blame! crossover.

There's peepo choo a comic from felipe smith. Before he tried to do capeshit for marvel and became the current failure he is now

Nahh porportions arn't long enough, plus the faces are diffrent.
Speaking of Logan, another manga I know I read as a teen, but can't remember anything about.

Elektra by Rucka and Amano

That wasn't even a comic. It kind of pissed me off after I bought it

>LET'S FIGHTING LOVE!

Isn't Witchblade just porn?

>by the futa master himself
So are most jap artists porn makers while also being legitimate ?

The anime one was a heartwarming story about what makes a family a family
Also female on male rape

Shame that the anime more or less eschews most, if not all the previously established mythos surrounding the Witchblade to portray it as a living weapon of ambiguous origins and not delve into it much further than that.

It's still a decent watch, at least. you go into it watching it for the sexual violence, but it's the story and the characters that get you hooked. If it was its own thing that didn't have the Witchblade name attached to it, I dunno if it would have been received better or worse, honestly.

I mean softcore pornography basically is legitimate in Japan.

They start off making porn doujins, then they get a legit job.
At least one got to serialize the doujin he was writing and didn't even have to stop it- Ane Naru Mono.
It's about a young boy who accidently summons The Black Goat of the Forest with a Thousand Young, and convinces her to be his older sister.

>pissed off at reading

Witchblade is amazing, but the western comic is FAR better than that anime

The art is the only good thing about comics. Comic book writers are all hack losers

>doesn't read both
Gaiman and Moore have written excellent novels

I read books from real authors not funny book writers.

Then what the fuck are you doing here? Go back to /lit/ and re-read Infinite Jest for the umpteenth time.

>Bland "realistic" generic comic art style over gorgeous japanese animation

Tits not big enough

They also tried to publish Devilman, but they axed it after a few issues.

animenewsnetwork.cc/jason-thompson-house-of-1000-manga/devilman/2010-06-03

>Horror/Goth rock musician Glenn Danzig had long been a fan of Nagai, and when he launched his publishing imprint Verotik (whose original characters were clearly Nagai-inspired, to put it kindly), he sought out the rights to Devilman. But instead of starting from the beginning, Danzig went with Shin Devilman, a disposable Devilman spinoff in which Ryo and Akira travel through time meeting people like General Custer and Adolph Hitler. The choice of Shin Devilman was presumably to sell the story better in self-contained comic book issues, but the true terror of the Verotik Edition was not the story, it was the coloring. Verotik's Devilman featured the worst digital coloring ever inflicted upon any black & white manga, with the whole thing soaked in muddy mid-90s Photoshop greens and reds and browns. Not only that, the colorist "enhanced" the original art by adding extra details. That's right: HE GAVE THE CHARACTERS NOSTRILS. Rumor has it that Nagai himself didn't see the book until the 1995 San Diego Comic-Con, when he was invited as a guest of Verotik, and he was not pleased. The book switched to a different colorist with issue #3, removing the nostrils and making the whole thing look marginally acceptable, but it was too late and the third issue was the last.

warmer?

Don't link to shitty articles like that. I don't want to see crap written by fake journalists.

...

What issue from The Darkness is this from?

I can't tell if she's looking forwards or to the left because of her weird pupils

I believe it's from Artifacts, the big crossover with all of Top Cow

Does Deltora Quest count?

on that note

>the second Darkness game ends on a cliffhanger, third Darkness game never
>comic-Jackie goes out like a bitch

it's not fair, they could've at least given Jackie an Annie-may before axing him

any translated chapters as of yet?

Some user did a storytime for the first one or two chapters a few months ago. It was.. decent I guess.

Goddamn it, looks like I missed one.

It's probably out in other languages wherever saint seiya is popular. I buy the magazine batman fought ocean master in the latest chapter

When live action turns into Sup Forums in Brazil, and oh boy, there are lots of it.

Man, no one ever brings this up but this was actually pretty cool.

Fuck that fucking show.
I went in expecting tits and all it gave me was FEELS (and tits)

I don't even get as an Aussie why nobody ever talks about this. You'd think this would be fairly well known and all.

>The witch blade brings it's user back from the dead several times
>in the anime it kills cowmom
-15/10
SOILED IT!

>There will never be a western adaptation of Parasyte
Give it to Neil Gaiman and just let it happen

this movie was released in japanese theaters 2 days ago

I green-texted the gist of it, get off my dick. Anyway, I did happen to find those issues at a con years ago. Coloring was pretty bad. Thankfully the original manga is finally coming out in English next year (plus Devilman Grimoire even sooner).

What Sup Forums properties would you like to see western animation take a crack at and vise verse?
Personally I'd love to see a well made western Astro-boy.
And a Japanese Scooby Doo would be fun on a bun!

While it pains me to lose the high quality artstyles hmangakas going mainstream I also want their artwork to spread but It feels bad when they just outright stop doing porn (Maybe, Tosh being the artist for painfully boring Food and Not!Porn yet wicked famous anime, Yuzuki N Dash though I stopped liking her stuff a long time ago since she literally couldnt stop shoving cuck and rape shit on her porn) ... but worse when they try to go mainstream and rather fail miserable like teeth rotting vainilla loli master Ootsuka Reika that tried to take a jab a mainstream under the name "Mikage Natsu" dunno if She didnt wanted to be associated with her porn works even though her artstyle is way to distinctive

>Japanese Scooby Doo
weekly light-hearted fun and shit? or gory and shit is ok?

isnt it the Persona 4 anime basically a Japanese style Scooby Doo?

Thing is, you could do either. I imagine it'd turn out like Gegege no Kitarou, spooky but mostly silly.

I'd love to see a Darkstalkers show done by the guys tackling the Castlevania Netflix series. I know it's more of a Sup Forums thing, but it had some OVAs in the 90s so it kinda counts. I realize there was the one show by DiC from ages ago that no one cares to remember, but frankly, they deserve some justice done to the franchise, given the treatment they've given Castlevania so far... even if it's only four episodes in.

Not entirely Sup Forums, but I'd fucking love to see an anime set int he stalker world.

there are lots of projects like this.

Project A-ko for example.

the yamato/star blazers comics.

and dunno if counts, but there is also lots of robotech shit.

>Japanese Scooby Doo
Persona 4 and Occult Academy/Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin already did it and they were kind of ok

A nu! Cheeki Breeki
The obscene amount of anime that Japs makes yet only a few get the mainstream attention (many that are the uber cliche shit that retards here use to gauge jap media and think *all* anime is autism animated yet the times a studio that tried to make something original and creative bombs so fucking hard they dont want to ever try again) is too damn high, now I while I have never actually played the game I did watch a full deep review on the whole game so I get the idea behind of it and while I havent listen any anime relative similar to that setting the only anime I know that Japs made focusing only in the region around near or in Russia where they are not "the enemy" is the "First Squad" movie.
youtube.com/watch?v=lIKHL36h3YU

It almost looks like a failed attempt to capture that high contrast, heavy shading style that was popular in OVAs/shows in the late 80s/early 90s.

Obligatory Dettopooru animu

>Russian
>Has a katana
Fucking nips mang, I take back what I said about wanting a stalker anime, they'd probably have females in it and as we all know it's canon that there's no girls in the zone, just mutants that start to look disturbingly sexy after a while.

Both of those were canon pre-Flashpoint.

>Tsutomu Nihei back when He was still leaning to draw comics/manga (dude actually studied Architectural design in college)
Many people hated that He dropped that style and went to manga style... even though He always wanted to draw in that style

man, they fought against each other, its way more plausible that a russian have a katana than lots of other countries characters.

Having a Katana in that period is not far fetch
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Japanese_War

Sure they might have had a few souvenirs at home but there isn't a single recorded instance of a Russian officer carrying a katana during WW2, military issued sabres among officers yes, but katana's no.

it was almost female on female during that one fight

did they actually kiss during that and got cut out or are they magically from kissing distance to a foot away from each other's heads?

if only mellon momma was nymphoblade until the very end

>Russian officer carrying a katana during WW2
the quasi-loli in the poster is not a fucking Military Officer, this is not Youjo Senki/Saga of Tanya the Evil , is at the most the "Enemy at the gates" animu version but with zombies on it too

Still seems silly to me, I guess nips will never stop stroking themselves to their fairly subpar swords.

That I will whole heartly agree though, I think they are aesthetically pretty but they are fucking subpar to the European counterparts but you gotta have some Japanese elements there to try still grab some Japanese audience even though the whole thing rather bombed so bad ... still waiting for the international release the Ankama x Studio 4°C baby youtube.com/watch?v=BHG8WON_MEQ

it was good when it was mixed and felt more sketchy.

his art peaked at biomega

Fuck mang, it looks so good, where are the fucking subs already?
