>anti-consumerist
In what way

I wouldn't say that it was specifically anti-consumerist, rather it just used to be a bit more edgy with tones of anti-estabilishment.

But regardless, isn't that how things always work out?
Look at china, it's supposed to be communist yet it's the single most succesful capitalist country in the world with a thin layer of pretend communism to keep it's population from realizing what's been going on for decades.

The chinese aren't stupid, they know they're communist only in name

The USSR was actually socialist though, not just in name only. Sadly it's no longer around...

Everyone has a price.
After all, we are just humans.

>Sadly it's no longer around...
Why the fuck would you still want them around? Having them was suffering, for the rest of the worlds and to themselves.

Buddy, my entire extended family is from there. Let me just say that whatever "suffering" there may have been back then (and hint: there was barely any after WWII) is NOTHING compared to what the people there have gone through thanks to "liberal" "democratic" "capitalism".

And the quality of life in the West now taking a nosedive is the DIRECT result of the collapse.

you're fucking delusional

>being this retarded
Your parents obviously did not raise you right, shame they weren't gulag'd

Are we talking about the same nation that drinks itself to death at 5 times the rate of Ireland?

...

ah yes, we all know that the ussr was a utopia where nobody starved to death and everybody was free. classic ussr, if only the lizardmen didn't force it to collapse in on itself.

>tones of anti-estabilishment
Groening's entire schtick from Life in Hell was vague 1980s anti-establishment but it's always been in a David Letterman snark kind of way without any actual teeth behind it. Groening even drew a cartoon of Binky the Rabbit (LiH's child mascot) pointing at Bart Simpson yelling "SELLOUT" which itself is still extremely mild protest.

It's edgy entertainment first and actual social commentary last.

>Look at china, it's supposed to be communist yet it's the single most succesful capitalist country in the world
Not at all. China is still very much a planned top-down economy where the CCP manages everything.

>Guy with direct experience makes claims
>Guys raised on propaganda try to prove him wrong

They marketed the hell out of the Simpsons especially in the first three years and Bart Simpson was a counterculture symbol for a while.

Someone please shoot Julie Kavner and put her out of her misery already.

This just gets scarier every year.

>most successful capitalist country in the world
>China
Everything is fucking falling apart.

I'd take them over the neofascist cabal under Putin whos puppets seem to be taking over the entire world at this point.

Film Roman took over because KC wanted Good Animation in the show and Fox hated that.
No you are thinking of Japan.

Not that I disagree user, but I'd take Russian puppets over the neo-American exceptionalist cabal that CURRENTLY controls the world.

Almost a Sorting Algorithm of Evil, if you will.
