In like 10 years, possibly more. Maybe even never.

Around the same time Huntress is White again, user. Like says, maybe never.

In BOP they're slowly making her white

Kinda salty Sideshow goofed on the cape and had to ship these without them. It's taking forever for a replacement, and she looks weird without a cape.

Once this feminism dad is over. These things come in waves. Plus, DC knows there's no money in Taliban approved females now. With the industry in dire straights and their efforts to save it, expect a return to normalcy sooner than later. Maybe a return of Helena Wayne to sidestep race swap tears.

Fad not dad.

never, because that ugly slut suit isn't "iconic"

If it makes me hard, it is iconic

This. Give her some pants. Some tight pants

A suit can't be iconic if it's out of character for them to wear. This Jim Lee fetish fuel never made sense.

It's by far her most famous costume due to this being her look in the DCAU. Casuals literally only know about this suit. That's what makes it iconic

JLU made a lot of questionable costume design decisions, like giving Dr. Polaris and the Key their silver age looks instead of their less-goofy modern age updates and giving Supergirl long sleeves with an exposed belly.

what is she now?

The kids of today defend themselves against the 90's

One of those Sicilian mutts.

it's coming back in January's Scooby Doo Team Up #34

The DCAU is for old people and the costume is trash.

Delicious brown

...

That costume is honestly awful, and not really iconic at all.

is the iconic one.

The story I heard about the ab window was that the original intention was for her to be showing off her gunshot scars after getting gutshot, sort of like an "I cannot be killed" sort of thing, but nobody ever drew her with scars, so it just ended up looking like a stripper costume.

they look so fucking bored to be there
>so we're doing a fucking scooby-doo crossover too now, huh? whatever, fuck it, let's just get through this

>The story I heard about the ab window was that the original intention was for her to be showing off her gunshot scars after getting gutshot, sort of like an "I cannot be killed" sort of thing, but nobody ever drew her with scars, so it just ended up looking like a stripper costume.
Post-hoc rationalization. Jim Lee designed the costume so if he wanted scars, he would have penciled them in. At the time, Jeph Loeb gave some mealymouthed excuse about how she did a lot of crunches and wanted to show it off.

In Nightwing she's brown again

I'm pretty sure all the fan artists, cosplayers and people who actually buy Huntress merch would disagree with you. perception is reality when most people think Huntress they think the Jim Lee costume.

next you'll want to argue Barbara Gordon isn't the iconic Batgirl because there's only one good comic book story about her.

I was introduced to her via Bop and JLU but my favourite outfit as a kid was the JLA bodysuit with cross.

Her Classic outfit's stupid though, but at least it matched Catwoman in bad taste appropriately.

The version of that costume that covered the belly but was otherwise identical was legit good.

Rather than costumes though, what I want back is her skin color and non-frizzy hair.

This one was the actually good one.

I know it's the good one because it's the one I saw first and whatever version of a character I see first is the good one.

I don't think I've ever seen the second one in my life. It's not iconic if you're the only one who remembers, guy.

You should read No Man's Land sometime, but she actually has two costumes in that

This costume is an absolute fucking mess.

It is a very sexy costume, but was pretty dumb coming on right after she got shot several times in the lower chest

I'm pretty sure this is where the apocryphal story
was talking about came from.

When anything about Huntress becomes iconic

anyone able to dump good shots of her costumes? Or able to direct me to a good course to view them?

Not to mention Gotham is a cold, damp, gross place. It's the kind of place where you want a fully covering suit and really thick gloves and boots so you don't have to touch anything and get really sick. Or catch pneumonia

>a fully covering suit and really thick gloves and boots

You might recognize this. She sewed it shut after getting sprayed in the face, then Batman forced her to give it up because she failed to hold off a few hundred dudes alone

>Jeph Loeb gave some mealymouthed excuse about how she did a lot of crunches and wanted to show it off.
I think that was Gail Simone, and I'm pretty sure she was taking the piss

the ab window does not need to be explained; I do not know why designs such as OP need to be justified.

this is Greg Land, right?

Helena looks good in just about anything.

Tone.

Power Girl's boob window needs no explanation; it's purely aesthetic and that's fine because her costume has no practical component to it. Her book is also fun and flirty, so it fits.

Huntress on the other hand is a non-powered, Catholic, mob-connected vigilante in a dark and brooding line of books, so the choice to give her a non-protective, sexy costume clashes both with the level or suspension of disbelief being asked, and the general tone of the stories she's appearing in.

Yes, written by Rucka, drawn by Land.
The No Man's Land thick trades are nice, but they put all the fucking covers in a gallery at the end, so the issues kind of blend together

...

I wish I remember what volume Babs seeing the costume and REEEEEing was in

She's Sicilian, isn't she? They can make her both brown and white in different stories and it wouldn't matter.
Even White Sicilians turn dark brown a few afternoons in the sun.

I'd read No Man's Land years before I knew who Greg Land was, and I was kinda surprised to find out I'd already seen some of his work, years later, when he developed his infamous porn tracing reputation.
I still think his No-Man's Land era stuff's pretty good

His Nightwing run with Dixon was probably his peak, artistically. I love that run.

What kind of idiot would go fighting crimes with this costume?

I don't know, it looks fine to me

Found a bit of it, but I remember more crying

...

It works better with the gaps filled in.
Would lose the gay boomerrangs though.
No thanks. The strong white cross really works well with the dark purples and blacks, without it her costume just lacks the same boldness and eye catchinness, and the different conflicting purples set off my autism.

You know what, yeah.
It's weird because that's probably her most memorable story.

Loeb definitely said something about it, I was there at the time. DC purged its message boards so finding the exact quote is impossible.

>When anything about Huntress becomes iconic
eh, pretty accurate
