How far in are you? I've always thought that the series generally improved in its later seasons unlike many cartoons. Moving away from Arnold and focussing more on the other characters (and particularly Helga) was a good move.

That goes without saying user. I still think the animation is reasonable enough but of course it is the story that matters.

Yep, And i'm sure the animation process is much different than it used to be. it's faster, cheaper, and easier to animate in a less detailed way, no matter what the angle. maybe if it hadn't been for this new tech, this series wouldn't have a movie because the staffing of the old studio, etc etc. would you even want new episodes given the new style? what would they be about? this movie is like going back in time concerning the plot, not concerning the style.

Well the first seasons were in straight up old fashioned cel-animation like what Disney was doing in the 30s. That was a dying art even when Hey Arnold started and by 2000 nobody was really doing it anymore so even the equipment wasn't there. Later series went to computer animation but it was still done in an older style.
