This.
Much better than the chinaman version.

Best western in the last 30 years

You cannot say that until 2023, when Unforgiven will be 31 years old. Be more careful next time, user.

Pretty much all 80s horror remakes
-The Blob
-The fly
-The Thing

The Ladykillers with Tom Hanks

The Fly!
Holy shit. Exactly WHOM is it who makes posts like this? Just... wow. Your post is unbelievable.

Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Will never understand why everyone seems to hate it 2bh

Great movie, Great OP.

I like the Alec Guinness version better but they're close. I think the Coen version made all the right changes but the original has an inimitable charm. I've never met anyone who's see either IRL so it almost doesn't matter.

A controversial pick, but one I agree with. The old one has aged poorly.

Depends if you care about the satire and social commentary or not. The original is actually pretty sophisticated with this, the remake.... more or less ignores that aspect entirely and turns it into a typical zombie action flick.
Because Snyder can't write.

The acting in the original really just doesn’t do it for me. It was distractingly bad.

How the hell is nuGrit better than the John Wayne version. The movies are almost identical scene for scene. John Wayne does a better job than The Dude wearing cowboy hat.
Old one is Kino, new one is pleb.

It doesn't help that John Wayne was racist.

Give me your angry (you)'s

Okay but why?

The one film all of Sup Forums agrees is good

It's not a remake because the chinaman didn't get paid or credited, it's a straight rip off

Doesn't change the fact that it's better.
They just made smart business desicions.

I wouldn't say it's better, Yojimbo is one of the best action films of all time.
Nobody remember the dollars trilogy besides TGTBATU

Scarface. So many iconic scenes. 80s remakes of older movies are some of the best.

Whatever you say contrarian.
Keep spouting baseless statements.

“Evil Dead”, “I Spit On Your Grave”, “Departed”, & “Raiders Of The Lost Ark”

Cape Fear

I'd say it's on par with the original

I was surprised how much I liked Damon's acting in this film. Great remake for sure.

I like the original evil dead more. Though the remake I up there.

The old one is more fun, which is why I feel the 2004 one doesn't hold a candle to the original desu

So how was it better?
It took a really cool setting with interesting characters and made it boring.

Because they take their bitch to the waffle hut

No

i love the original
the female lead was superior/hayley just copied her exactly

but the remake is a better overall film

that's not even better than Open Range let alone:
