The Killer surpasses Hard Boiled because it’s simpler and more personal, even if the hospital shootout is undoubtedly the best gun scene in any movie.

Same argument I have for T1 being better than T2

Nah,The Killer is a better movie but if we count only action then Hard Boiled takes the cake

The killer is great, but we are talking ACTION

The body count in The Killer was just insane to me. Even more than Commando.

You could also argue legend of a drunken master is in the same league, but it's a jackie chan martial arts movie they're kinda in their own category of fuckawesome

"Legend of a Drunken Master" is some Frankensteinian marketing creation, not the actual title of any real Jackie Cjan movy.

Drunken master 2 then
Movies are released under different names sometimes

Legend of le Drunken Master was released like ten years after the real film, DMII, hit theatres. Legend of the Reddit Master is NOT the name of the film. Anyone who calls it that has a deeply disturbing lack of knowledge of Hong Kong action cinema.

>The film was released in North America as The Legend of Drunken Master in 2000.
Well guess what son, I'm only 25 years old

I can't OP

QED

That's even less of an excuse than actually having an excuse, broheim. As a purported film connoisseur who has had access to modern media distro and info transmo formats, it's pretty freaking embarrassing that you only know DMMk2 as "Legend of the...(I'm not even going to post the rest)". But whatevs. You're not going to apologize and you probably don't even think you've done anything wrong. You're just a total infant of film.

Much as I like OMWVFS you're just being contrarian

Oh yeah? Well tell me your honest opinion if a bad hong kong dub enhances the action cinema experience or not

That's some good shit, HOWEVER
Hard boiled also has a long tracking shot shootout that was filmed in one take cause they didn't have the budget for a second take

Can we limit this, at least for now, to which had the better tracking-shot action scene?
Actually, caan any other movie compete with these two?

>implying I watch subs when film is a visual medium and third-party subtitles distract from the visual presentation of a film
Forcing shitty enterprises to speak English even if they're otherwise deficient is the British speciality

To paraphrase some Nerd
>Story in a hong kong action film is like story in a porn movie — it's expected to be there but it's not that important.

We all know how the plot goes, but I find hong kong (i.e. 0 fucks given about lip sync and in general so bad it's good) dubs endearing

>action
>more like chingchong twirly rolly shooty shooty masturbatory flick
theres no action in this trash

Nothing wrong with dubbing. I will say that I wrote my dissertation on Song dynasty literature so your post is a BIT offensive and stupid to me, but that's just par for the course here these days. Sup Forums used to be full of really truly intellectually smart brain people back in 2011 when I first joined. But yeah, this is how it is now. It just is...

You don't need a budget when every fight scene is badass bc Tony Jaa is fighting and doing the choreography

You can choreograph those fights a lot better if you weren't going for long tracking shot gimmick so it's a moot point

>tv/ used to be full of really truly intellectually smart brain people back in 2011 when I first joined
I've been here since lost threads in around 2008 and you couldn't be more wrong

I think it's pretty perfect as is
