Flex Mentallo: Man of Muscle Mystery Storytime

I read this one just yesterday and really liked it, so I'm presenting for you all Grant Morrison's mystery/superhero/metafiction miniseries.

This is the deluxe edition, so I'll start with the fictional "introduction" before the first issue.

For those of you who aren't aware, Flex was actually introduced in Morrison's Doom Patrol in the 90's.

The hero we need?

Flex's powers revolve around being able to change reality by flexing his muscles. He's a parody of all those Charles Atlas ad comics from the fifties.

Certainly not the one you deserve.

One of my favourite parts of the book is the weird silver-age-style villains that show up only for a page or so.

...

...

If you look closely, there's a cameo on this page.

Can you guess what the magic word is, kids?

And that's issue 1. I'm going to take a short break to eat dinner and be back in 20 minutes.

Ok, here's issue 2.

I guess I have to spoiler this one because we're on a blue board.

We've arrived at the weird fetishy section of the story.
