I finally got around to finishing this show, and it's nowhere near as good as Rick and Morty. There were a few clever episodes here and there, but it was just way too disjointed and plotless for me to enjoy as a whole (even blazed).
Last time I watch a series because of a meme. I thought Perfect Hair Forever was unwatchable too.

XRA actually depends a lot on the visuals to drive the message of the story as well.
It's debatable whether Xavier even had "deep" ideas since the show is largely a parody of the New Age bs embodied in its protagonist and most of it is nonsensical.
But even if some of the episodes play around with deeper themes, it knows it's too absurd to take itself completely seriously, which is already a point it has over R&M.

There is a large barrier with the, purposefull, shitty animation, the strange jokes, and the weird characters. If you can get past that you'll likely enjoy the show immensely for its creativity and weird, but hilarious, jokes. It's really an aquired taste.

I actually liked it before the 4chad shit, I just think it's funny that it's popular all of a sudden. It's actually pretty funny, doesn't try to take itself seriously like Rick and Morty, for example. The second season was actually kinda tryhard though. The first season was very original and interesting.
