Or at least on Sup Forums in general

Same people. They just grew up.

Yes.

>most people on Sup Forums are white men
>obongo is le hope and change guy
>8 years later obongo pretty obviously hates white people and enables feminists
>being surprised that white men don't like that

Are you stupid?

Obama and Trump are fags

Generally even if Obama hasn't delivered, liberals will tend to vote liberal. So if it's really mostly the same crowd, then I would expect somewhat more for Hillary, whereas now it's obvious how heavily Trump-leaning this place is.

I personally think the political demographic has changed, new blood came in, etc.

Thank you for Correcting the Record. $0.02 has been deposited into your account.

there was no Sup Forums in 2008
we didnt have this kind of cancer yet

I used to think he was okay, but then you get more information about how he has his hands in a lot of the shit Clinton did. At this point, I want the fucker to go to jail. In a sense, it would be a great talking point, how our first Black President and Female candidate ended up to be crooks that committed treason.

Obama said we were gonna get health care and then we didn't. Now he's helping the worst woman in the world get elected as president.

Obama was a pretty shit deal.

>Did everyone get sick of liberalism, or did the demographics change?

It's just the way contrarianism works. Conservatism was popular so Sup Forums was liberal, liberalism is now popular so Sup Forums is conservative. These idiots don't have any real or heartfelt beliefs.

...

>I remember Obama being pretty popular here in 2008
He really wasn't.

Either way Sup Forums is contrarian to the extreme, so they push Trump because he's a meme-spouting old fuck with weird hair that's willing to say crazy, b-tier conspiracies on live Tv and the world has to take him seriously

>>Also ctr shill, gtfo, /.16 into your account etc. etc

I don't think it's simply contrarianism, it seems like redpill and general alt-right thought has been on the upswing generally here and elsewhere.

More's the pity. I'm liberal-leaning but the excesses of modern feminism and SJ activism put me off. Not that it matters since I'm not American.

I think the sensible left still exists, but it's gotten shouted down by the SJW crowd. And so people have swung against liberalism.

Obamacare I don't know about, but mandatory healthcare coverage seems like a good idea from most countries it's been done in. (Execution being another matter)

Sup Forums attracts kids who want to fit in by being counterculture, so when the actual counterculture is liberal, Sup Forums is conservative. This place is literally a place where being contrarian is the only way for these hive mind babbies can paradoxically feel like they belong to a clique.

>I remember Obama being pretty popular here in 2008
wrong chan

>implying people weren't calling him a dumb nigger in 2008
dumb nigger

Please take a moment to consider who Trump is running against. There isn't a liberal in this election. Just a moron and an evil empress. People would rather learn to love the moron.

I definitely find a lot of conspiracy talk here - Zionism, coverups, all sorts - don't know how much of it is ironic and how much is real. Trump trumpeting it seems to have worked a treat.

(Also I'm pretty sure less people were posting for Romney back then)

>popular here during the era of /new/
>implying /new/ wasn't calling him a stupid nigger

>liberalism
>counterculture
Try again shlomo

Liberals only continue to vote liberal if they're old and stuck in the insane mindset of liberalism. Young people in this country tend to be liberal before growing up and realizing the world just doesn't work that way. I'd bet that user, as a whole, fit more into the college cuck demographic when Obama was being elected. Now that they're part of the working class, they understand the world and politics better and have thus switched.

I really don't think this place is purely counterculture. It just happened to play out in a way that makes it look counterculture. I think it has more to do with the fact that moot was 14 or 15 when he started this website.

Half of his family white, as are most of his friends and colleagues.

Obama's a corporate shill, but he dooesnt hate white people.

I'm not so sure the "liberal when young, conservative when old" canard is accurate. I'd instead think that people tend to hold onto certain principles and then moderate but not abandon them. But we'll never know without surveys.

Anyway, let's see how tomorrow goes. The fallout either way will be interesting.

>I remember Obama being pretty popular here in 2008

Unlike you, I was here during 2008. The place was at least five times as edgy as it currently is, with "nigger" being spammed everywhere for no reason and people hating him because he is one. You know, when things like the habbo raids happened, or when people were getting triggered that modern social "sciences" are starting to become leftist and ignore actual science, which made a lot of people to basically SPAM those old anti-nigger infographic pics daily, which eventually lead to this place actively questioning the holocaust.

pic related, Sup Forums mocking niggers in 2008

In a hypothetical world where Obama was running against either Jeb or Rubio, I'd vote for Obama

Trump gets my vote this year tho

He proved to be a sellout, everybody in their right mind should turn on this Kissinger-groomed globalist shill.

It was always about being anti-establishment, because the American political establishment is not only corrupt as fuck, it also projects its sickness globally. It only makes sense to oppose it.

In 2008, Obama ran against McCain - an old establishment politician. Obama seemed like the better choice, but never delivered on his promises.

In 2012 Sup Forums supported Ron Paul - Obama had proven his uselessness and both Romney and Obama were essentially the same.

Now Sup Forums supports Trump, who has never held a public office. We're kinda hoping he'll take out the trash, so to speak.

We just don't like the lugenpresse.

I grew up, basically. Was raised shitlib.

Bush got pretty unpopular during his second term, he was a punching bag across the political spectrum. Also Sup Forums was less political then, there was a more even distribution of right wing and left wing.

i voted for obama in 08. what a huge mistake. i've grown up a lot and grew a pair of balls.

>2008
>Sup Forums

Pick one.

Obama was by far preferable to McCain in 2008. I still believe he was the better choice.

However, his two terms didn't stack up to his promises, and he broke a lot of bridges with us.

I don't know if Romney would've been better, honestly. Dude was a scumbag.

Liberalism is now the conservative position.

The median age here is around 12.

Everyone was tired if bush crap and thought Obama might have been better

I'm white and my life didn't really change under Obama I don't dislike him.

Sup Forums didn't exist in 2008 and /new/ was basically stormfront so exactly what the fuck are you even talking about?

The median age around here "was" 12. I'd say it's about 22 now.

>Obama was popular on Sup Forums
>ever

Where the fuck did this meme start? I was around here since 2005, and remember lurking constantly around the 2008 election, and yeah, it was popular to talk about Obongo; like calling him a nigger and making memes like pic related. It was overwhelmingly making fun or him or just neutral memeing for the sake of being crude and obnoxious, as was the nature of Sup Forums memes at the time. Obama was a popular subject, but not popular as in loved as a candidate.

This

America gave niggers their chance and they blew it, time to revert to some good ol' fashioned white nationalism

Fuck, forgot to attached image. It was just the one in this

post though.

The left overreached

Hard

It's because nothing got better after 8 years. If anything, it's gotten worst. ISIS, more Middle East wars, slow economy, the job numbers report is a lie, student loans are getting crazy, healthcare increased instead of decreased, blaming white ppl/gun owners for everything/BLM, not admitting that Islamic terrorism IS happening around the world. Even Europe is getting pissed off. The only good thing that happen so far was that Gay marriage was made legal but that was the Supreme Court so he didn't do shit. There was no change for the better....

We're friends with Cuba now, thats an accomplishment.
Plus he was pretty lax on weed and allowed it to be legalized in several states.

Feels equally edgy now, really. Now it seems like conspiracy, holocaust denialism, Zionism are more intense.
I find a lot of the SJWism ridiculous myself, so not hating on that aspect.

Going from Obama to Paul to Trump is a complete swing. Guess America really has decayed since '08 to get everyone so riled up. Thanks for outlining.

Was referring to Sup Forums in general

>8 years later obongo pretty obviously hates white people and enables feminists

Obama was a member of an anti-White church for 20 years. If you needed 8 more years to come to the conclusion he doesn't care for white people you are pretty dense.

Sup Forums grew up.

I'm sure the average age on Sup Forums is significantly higher now than it was 8 years ago.

Yeah but the DEA is still in the way.

>underage b& became oldfags
>went from whiny liberals to conservatives when they learned life is a bitch

Gee

Sup Forums is counter culture. At the time, Obama was the counterculture. Now, he's far from it. Hence the switch

Most people still here were probably too young to remember the 2008 election. Also, \pol\ didn't exist back then

>I remember Obama being pretty popular here in 2008.

You mean Ron Paul?

How to spot newfaggots general.

>Sup Forums is counter culture.

People want change

Trump will bring change, Clitton will bring further corruption.

did the large mainstream media segments vilifying this place not hammer it home enough for you? The pendulum has switched you moron

Counterculture is a subversive phrase coined to hide the intent of the cultural revolution of the 60s, which was deconstruction of the American-European, conservative, Christian culture.
It was a counter to it, not for the sake of contrarianism.

obongo said he would change shit but he didnt

dont beleive politicians until they actually show they are true with their actions

I loved Obama when he first ran but he didn't keep hardly any of his promises and even the ones he did keep like leaving he manages to completely fuck up.

I don't hate Obama or think he's evil, I'm just disappointed in him and how he ran this nation. I'd take him over that nasty cunt hillary any day though.

> The pendulum has switched you moron

We all hated Bush and thought McCain was gonna be 4 more years of Bush. Plus Sarah Palin was fucking retarded.

(clear throat) I'll just leave this here.

youtu.be/hHf2BBYY1do

It really is that simple, though. Clinton equals more of the same old bullshit, but getting worse. Trump means all of it gets upended and at est a fucking ATTEMPT at fixing it. This is all peopl need to know in the end, and why it infuriates me that the same moronic libtards I know who complain about no jobs/poor wages/college debt/etc etc etc and were all about Bernie are with this cunt and defend Obongo. They are walking, talking contradictions who are too stupid to even realize the simplicity of how stupid and broken their entire train of thought is.

>Sup Forums was around in 2008

You're a fucking moron kek

It is a swing, and a hard one at that. And it's been going on for a decade! What's really telling about it is that everyone is so sick and tired of the "normal" politics that they just pick whatever candidate seems the most probable to destroy the sickness of the system, once and for all. No more bankers' wars, no more globalism, no more destruction of the middle class. Whoever can bring back the glory to America, or whoever can promise to do so, seems to be the one who wins. I understand the sentiment completely - Americans are seeing their country going to utter shit and they fucking hate it, with good reason.

So you have Trump. He says "bring back the industry and MUH JOBS". And you have Clinton. She says "get used to being irrelevant. MUH MUSLIMS AND ILLEGALS". Now, who would you support if you were American?

>I remember Obama being pretty popular here in 2008.

He was never popular

Palin was such a gilf though. I would have fucked her retarded ass so quick kek.

Many people bought into the PC myth that if you judged Obama you were a racist. Then Obama did the worst job ever, He sold out the country and acted as an agent of Islam. People woke up but the climate was so altered they were terrified to speak up and be labled a racist or bigot and lose their jobs. President Trump will be our collective response!! MAGA!!

> thinks fag "marriage" is good
Kill yourself ASAP.

Obama promised to rid us of the NSA and expand civil rights.

He did not.

>sick of liberalism
Aside from his stances on immigration and abortion, Trump actually looks like a suave democrat. He has been his whole life. He just knows that we've gone too far and spent too much money on the wrong things, and have handled our future poorly.

Your're right though about one thing, this place was filled with Obama "HOPE" and smoking pot and his meme faces in 2008 much like Trump has been.

She's kinda hot, but she's no JILF!

only americans could support the republicans pre-trump

when he was first elected, he seemed like a fresh president with charm and energy. He always presented himself as a nice person. But when he came into office, terrorism wasnt such a mess as it is right now. mass muslim migration in the eu wasnt there. as a foreigner, obamacare etc, doesnt mean anything to me. But the surge in political correctness and "progressiveness" that he advocates is what pisses me off. getting "triggered" got popular since obama came into the office. This so called progressive mindset that has flooded the internet is really crippling the freedom of expression on the internet. for me personally, this is one of the main reasons i'm not anti obama and anti hillary. That said Trump is a badass!

>i'm not anti obama and anti hillary
i'm anti obama and anti hillary

Back in 2008 people were excited about his political destruction. We were so sure he would lose.

But then we watched as the electoral college system guaranteed Obama would win, and hopes died.

Suddenly, there was a constant bombardment of BBC threads all over Sup Forums as we were cuck'd by the first Black president.

Then again the following election year in 2012.

Sup Forums has always been conservative. The demographics didn't change, the liberal politician just became so HORRIBLE and Trump became so much of a Meme the extremes just swung so much harder.

If/when Hillary wins tomorrow, you better believe Sup Forums will be swamped by porn all over again...probably Lesbian Dom, or Hispanic Cuck porn or something like that.

If/when Trump wins, then Sup Forums will experience a celebration so huge, it'll break all of Sup Forums and it'll ignite a second Civil War anyway, as the right will think the Jews shut down the internet in spiteful retaliation.

Either way, I'm staying the HELL out of it until Wednesday morning. My body can't handle this much stress.

You... Y-you mean a black guy didn't do the job he was hired to do?

How could that be?!

It was Sup Forums then. All political talk was meshed in with rickrolling, AMA's, bailey jay trolling, boxxy, and rekt threads, which is surprisingly higher material than Sup Forums has been for years now. Then closet tranny moot put everyone in containment boards.

in both cases people supported the ideologue they can project onto

Nothing unusual

The only thing stupid is the retards that didn't do their due diligence to find out Obama had those opinions before being elected. Those stupid people are the same ones projecting conservatism, pro-white, etc. onto trump

The same rhetoric exists with both of them too. Their campaigns have more in common with each other than with hillary for instance.

What about /new/?

That isn't true at all

Most boards were pro obama and the conservative boards had a mccain propensity at best

Similar thing with romney, but obama was a bit less popular

I think there is difference between liberalism in 2008 and todays far left liberalism. Demographics did not change much but the corruption that was going on on top is. Obongo was outsider as well as trump.

Obama was a meme candidate, just like Trump is. No-one gave a shit to try to understand his policies (he didn't seem to have anything besides the buzzword "CHANGE"), they just wanted a nigger in the white house because that would piss off all the rednecks.

People tend to easily forget that it was very much in fashion to make fun of republicans and George W Bush was the butt of every joke, for good reason. Daily Show was popular (Jon Stewart even being rumored as a candidate to the nobel peace prize) and Steven Colbert was Sup Forums's favorite son. ED even used to have a seal of approval on their page about Colbert. Don't know if they still do since I haven't visited the place in a while.

One of the main factors in voting Obama in was the fact that he was running as a democrat, thus the exact opposite of a republican Bush. People thought he'd pull out of Iraq, Afghanistan, deal with the economy and fix the country (as implied by the slogan "CHANGE"...). Add that to the fact he looked fairly young while his opponent was literally a rotting old man representative of the republican establishment who seemed to promise more of the same. Isn't it funny how most of that has switched around?

... Except for the fact that the media is completely controlled by the leftists and all the """alt right""" has as a counter to their humor is a third-rate tryhard in Sam Hyde.

If you think it's so unbelievable how Sup Forums could have been behind Obama, you obviously were too young to even know shit about politics.

I guess you're right that Sup Forums has always been conservative, probably selective memory on my part.

I'm looking forward to the fireworks tomorrow.

I think the US has done a good job in watching out for Islamists actually...much better than Europe at any rate. Muslims in US tend to be a lot safer as a group than the ones elsewhere.

Obama's record in general has been so-so, not sure what you mean by "selling out" but global politics is pretty much always like that imo

Good point, in fact Trump to me says pretty much whatever seems expedient to him. If he wins I hope he leaves most of the decisionmaking to sensible advisors. Seems to be a short-attention-span type.

Liking the in-depth post. Also you reminded me that Colbert and Stewart were ultra popular, and I think that was a large factor back then.

campaign Obama wasn't all bad, there was kinda a drain the swamp mentality for him at the time.

Now we've realized you cant drain the swamp while having a progressive view on government

That's my hope if trump wins, that he will pick good advisors.

The only problem is if his [ego] allows for him to be manipulated by people who know more than him.

It doesn't look like he will though, judging by the people he's surrounded by right now. The fat fuck Krispy Kreme is a glaring example.

His ease of lying and immoral acts like cheating are similarly dissuading

>campaign wasn't all bad
The absolute worst type of person is the kind that believes what somebody tells them without looking up what they've done in the past

People don't change, but they can appear to change through lying.

If your retort to a claim about trump or any other politician is: "he said x", you are a lowly puddle of piss

This.

Liberal faggot here, I will gladly take any shock therapy Pence threatens versus letting the country land in Hillary's hands.

The woman is evil incarnate.

None of the people alive he considers family are white.
His white friends are either cucks or (((white))) and share his vision of the future.
youtube.com/watch?v=lBTDcKkErPM

>Liberal faggot here, I will gladly take any shock therapy Pence threatens versus letting the country land in Hillary's hands.
Can you please just take a bullet instead plz

Not sure what year /pol appeared, but back in 2008 Sup Forums was celebrating their asses off and this image was all over the place. Like OP, I was wondering the same thing.

Of course the Russian gets pissed about that. But seriously, just letting that social shit happen means that the elections are no longer about that. Sure Clinton is pulling the Trump is a racist and sexist card but next election, the Democrats won't have shit social wise.

What was /new/ ?
It was just named differently

Also, back in 2008, Moot still owned Sup Forums, and I think he was quite liberal.

Thanks for another bit of evidence, now I know I wasn't completely imagining it. Was surprised by the happenings this year, but hey, I can understand if people are pissed off with the state of the country

>Make grand promises to restore America's international dignity, save the economy and promote fairness for everyone.
>Kick Shillary in the vagina
>Soundly beat "Le War Hero" when he's forced to skew hard right to win over his party's Retard Fringe
>Start accomplishing shit for 2 years, butthurt whitey gerrymanders back the Legislature, Senate and House go into full "NO U" mode.
>New election, this time the GOP runs Bill Lumburgh from Office Space, who tells everyone they'll have to work Saturdays (In China). Unsurprisingly, loses badly.
>Finishing term, ME is still a sectarian hellzone, incomes up, unemployment back down, Shareholder Class still doing too well, Haters still Hatin'.
>Still no one misses W

All in all, things went as well as could be expected.

In 2008 I was quite the noob, just lurking mostly, but was surprised Sup Forums seemed to be embracing Obama, especially with all the nigger memes. And then in 2012, the celebration actually seemed bigger. I cant seem to google when /pol appeared, but I do know pol was created as a containment board for sure.
