Both Stan and Kenny barely get any screentime anymore. The main characters are Randy, Butters, Kyle and Cartman now, for whatever reason. I always wanted to see more of Clyde/Craig though.

You're getting craig with tweek at least

memberberries.jpg

>Clyde/Craig
This. Fuck another the 'we need more Tweek and Craig episodes' noise. I need an episode that confirms that Craig and Clyde are best buds.

Remember when people stopped watching South Park because it was bland and forgettable?

While some of the best episodes are the kids being kids (like the ninja weapons one), the vast majority of those are throw-away.

That was never my opinion watching the show.

Gee, you really felt like you need to announce that when posting in a thread that is already advertising your half-baked opinion (or validating it if you're not OP)? You can like them all you want, but seasons 6ish-11ish are a black hole in terms of viewers and cultural relevance.

that is not OP
t. OP

Do you always get this defensive when your opinion isn't shared? It must suck to be that thin skinned.

I member

stopped watching after season 14
you can tell the show was in a different direction at thst point

They're not even characters anymore. They're just two everyman characters that take on one of two roles:
>one is reasonable and sees through the newest fad that everyone in town falls for
>the other is also reasonable, but still gets sucked into the new fad despite the warnings from the other one
>the episode ends with ironically heartwarming piano music while they all muse over the lesson they learned
>Cartman undermines the lesson to comical effect

None of the main cast have actual distinct personalities anymore. They aren't mischievous kids that play games, unless if the plot requires them too for the sake of someone to interrupt it with their strawman agenda.

Meanwhile, the side characters have never been stronger.

Kyle still has his very distinct personality of being a moralfag that always pushes against Cartman's evil but because he also has a massive ego it's willing to work him him until he is guilt tripped out of it.
Cartman has been a 'sociopath that sometimes is dumb/naive and other times is intelligent enough to pull of elaborated plans' ever since STMD. It's a wide enough personality that M&T can do whatever they want with him and it's hard to question it.

Since You are getting Old Stan has become boring and pretty apathetic to things that don't directly involve him.
Kenny never had a real personality to begin with, aside from being a little pervert and following the other kids around.

I don't care about ratings, I don't care about cultural relevance, and especially fuck political commentary. I watch South Park to laugh, I'm not expecting cultural edification. But that's the problem with a lot of long running programs that get popular; they start to see their status as a platform as more important than what made them famous. Old comedies especially have this bad habit of maturing that way, which leads to more tryhard political shit and taking on the big issues. It all reminds me of that line in Funnybot, you can't start taking comedy seriously. So when somebody pounds on about cultural impact all I can do is roll my goddamn eyes.

Return of the Lord of the Rings, Christian Rock Hard, Awesom-O, Critter Christmas, Guitar Queer-O; these are all gold standard South Park episodes. I could go on, as most of those types of episodes were fun to watch and very funny. You could tell me that Sexual Healing, Eat Pray Queef, HappyHolograms and Last of the Meheecans were each a ratings tour de force and I'd still call them low points because they weren't that funny to me, "message" be damned. I've mostly enjoyed the current season though. It feels like its moving in the right direction.

And Stan has typically been the rational and down to earth one. People get too fixated on Getting Old like it forever redefined his character, then get disappointed when its never brought up again and Stan acts normal in Stan episodes like Hummels. Same problem with Tenorman Must Die and Cartman not being a supervillain all the time.

But Token and Clyde are best buds.

wait, they are? I always remember Craig/Clyde being shown together.

Funny what you said about Kyle, going through all of the South Park again and during the Pokemon parody episode a trait they gave to early Kyle was that he was always behind on fads. In fact the whole episode was about it.

I just want more Kenny. Is that fucking too much to ask!?

Kenny's so overdone.

You shut your whore mouth. Kenny hasn't been relevant for fucking years at this point. Hell, I don't even want Kenny specifically, really. I just want more of the McCormicks in general. Give me some fucking Kevin, goddammit!

I just want episodes to focus on the four boys again.

That would also be good. And it would be much preferable to all of the "Randy Park" shit we've been getting thus far.

member berries are literally the worst thing that SP every pulled off

>inb4 some random shitty episode
No
berries spanned several episodes
the total screentime on the whole season amounted to one full episode, and I'm talking just about literal berries presence, let alone all the townhall meetings, etc

Imagine all the berries' cuts put together, all thsoe twenty minutes of berries talking to each other, jumping around and being goofy
Imagine it all crammed up into a single episode.

It would be the single most terrible SP episode by a fucking mile.
They've done shit before, but christ. Nothing ever will top the bland cancerous mediocre """humor""" that MBs was

>friends

eat me, drink me

Member Berries were utterly horribly. The fact that there are still hints of them in the latest season just makes it worse.

>the boys singing Rape Me in a barbershop quartet

Hummels was a nice episode

this guy gets it

Do you think Kenny fantasizes about Karen?

>Kenny.
>Fantasizing about his baby sister.
>Ever.
I highly, highly, *highly* doubt it. It's unlikely he would ever wish to taint her in any manner shape or form.

He canonically does.

What kind of things?

He's a siscon, that's for sure.

To me, God tier SP episodes are either:
>kids being kids and taking play Very Seriously like The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers, Good Times with Weapons, Song of Ass and Fire etc
>episodes that explore real life shit without going over the top or preaching like Red Man's Greed, Freemium Isn't Free, Informative Murder Porn or Cash 4 Gold
>episodes like Hummels & Heroin, Guitar Queer-o that are stand out because they are a straight faced take on a genuinely ridiculous situation

Everything else feels too much like it's trying to be a running commentary on everything happening at that second in world politics and thus doesn't age well or even work as it's airing because the context is quickly lost.

Gotta keep them seperate so its not obvious they're both shitty shallow characters.

Where?

Only about her having nice things, safety, comfort and financial stability.

Rewatching the whole show. On season 4 now. Rainforest Shmainforest, Cartman joins NAMBLA, and Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics are all top tier.

And his dick

Rainforest Shmainforest is so underrated. Chinpokomon should make that list too

You stole my post word-for-word

Got osmething for you boys.

The original AU came from here: kanoii-chi.tumblr.com, but other interpretations of it come from separate artists, which is where the other images come from.

>haven't seen in a long time
>cartman gets tricked into beating some dogs off
>Stan does it too in front of the adults
Man, I think this is the only time South Park made me uncomfortable

Also currently rewatching episodes and just so happen to got done watching that one today. When Stan did it during the book club honestly made me cringed which is impressive given it is South Park.

you just now made me remember i watched that episode in front of my mom when i was like 9

...

Jimmy's a good boy he deserves better

>Red rocket!

>All the kids at school are talking about South Park
>Really want to watch it
>Mom won't even let me watch Simpsons
>Finally convince her to let me watch it
>She insists she watch it with me
>It's the pilot episode

I've never switched between laughing hysterically to anxious embarrassment so frequently since

>All the people who've talked about rewatching the show in these threads over the last few days
Fuck, guess I'll do it too
