This seems like it's the premise of the episode. But it might not be as much "was coming here a mistake?" as "Am I doing what I need to do here? Am I satisfied with professionally being Star's friend? Am I being a good friend to her?"

Exactly but that's pretty damn easy. Jackie's lack of personality for her first few appearances was pretty intentional as it was exactly what Marco saw.
