In Season 1 his first appearance was keeping Pony Head in line by just sending her ass to St. Olga's, then he was at River's party in Royal Pain and was just a huge asshole. This bumbling henpecked dad personality came out of nowhere. I mean it's his personal life but you'd have thought if he was enough of a hardass to send Pony Head to Saint O's he would be keeping a tighter grip on his other daughters, and between River and Raphael it would be nice to see a father figure who isn't incompetent or powerless in his own household.
