You posted it. Although I wish it was in color, sometimes it’s hard to tell what’s going on with all the ridiculous levels of detail and only being in black and white.

>40K comic that feels like home in the Judge Dredd universe

40K is just fun as fuck if you dont take it seriously

The Warhammer Monthly had some gems.

metal

/thread

That's the appeal of it, once you take it fanboy serious it gets bad.

>Still now Forgeworld mini of this

Yeah, like the Ultramarines codex

40k can be epic.

>Theyre advancing the plot

-fun

Or just METAL.

>My sister threw out YEARS of GW magazines because she thought I didn't want them since I put them away for safekeeping

Im still fucking mad about it

And people said Marneus Calgar had the best pimp hands in 40k...

Metabarons

The Redeemer deserved more issues. Hell I say he deserved at least one 20-30 issue run.

Requiem Vampire Knight by Pat Mills. Or for fantasy the recent run of blood bowl was really fun

Speaking of 40k and Dredd, I take it you've read Insurrection?

I have not, how is it?

Pretty good. I won't spoil it but it's basically 40K with a Dredd skin (apparently it was actually a 40K strip that was scrapped and reworked for the Dredd Megazine) and the SJS taking the place of the Inquisition and fucking with everyone for every reason possible. Three parts that ran in the Meg and a current running series (Lawless) is a sequel to it.

I just went to the GW website cause of this thread for the first time in about 7-8yrs

What the fuck happened

They not only a narrative, by a shit one at that, and All Xenos aside from Eldar are now minor characters, and even they are just playing second fiddle to the Imperium.

I really like the Titan comics.

This

On the topic of 40k and Dredd, how are the Enforcer novels?

Tabletop question

Am I a fag for almost exclusively using drybrush technique to paint most of my minis?

read the first one, it was decent.

I really enjoyed them. Even if you divorced them enirely from Games Workshop they'd be good Sci-Fi / crime stories, and as a 40k series they're one of the increasingly rare looks into "civilian" life in the Imperium with all the gothic insanity that implies. As you can tell from the foreword the author really gets 40k in a way that I'm not sure even the current devs do.

The best 40k comics were almost all written and drawn by 2000AD people as side project to their mainstream work, so that's hardly surprising. The Redeemer is basically Pat Mills doing Torquemada from Nemesis again, when you get right down to it.

If you havent already check out Nemesis the Warlock by the same writer. It very heavily inspired 40k and the main antagonist has a lot of similarities to the Redeemer.

40K plot has advanced and the Primarchs are coming back. Essentially its a reason to sell big centrepiece models.

Fantasy was closed off with the End Times event and replaced with Age of Sigmar, a game closer to 40k (including the introduction of the Stormcast Eternals, blatantly an attempt to do fantasy space marines). The turnover was a grade A example of how not to replace a gameline. In the early months it was absolute shit tier and a lot of people still hate it. However over time the rules have improved dramatically and the lore is getting some expansion, plus the recent Shadespire boxed game is great.

The Specialist Games department was brought back and are churning out stuff, the big returns so far are Blood Bowl and now Necromunda.

This has all seemed to have worked out for GW, who are reporting that sales are performing strongly.

Same user here
Im seeing box sets that I used get marked up by nearly twice what they were
Even skimmed the Fantasy bits and Im fuckin apalled

And they got rid of that fucking awesome Vampire Counts Skeleton box which I used for bits (theyre the same size as Muhreens)

Im fucking pissed and about to hammer out the scale and resin and get back to casting
I toyed around with casting before I stopped playing (LFGS closed) cause of the ridiculous prices
Not to mention that Im on 1d4chan gettin the highlights and Im fuckin fuming

WHY DID THEY RUIN NECRONS

Keep in mind 1d4chan is obviously going to end up showing bias in several places. The guy in charge of the period of significant terribleness was replaced sometime after Age of Sigmar rolled out,and since there has been a noticeable shift towards higher quality.Somehow in spite of the various questionable changes they've made, right now GW is in a pretty good place.

Crons are literally Tomb Kings in Spess now tho

I dont like it sir

different user, yeah they changed 'crons ages back but lets be honest with ourselves here. They had like, nothing going for them lore wise. Spooking skelemen robots that whoosh in murderfuck and then leave.

I'm not so fond of them being memetastic in places but at least they have character now.

I honestly liked them like that
You could use them in team games as the reason armies stop fighting to deal with the Space Terminators

Their depiction in Dawn of War is fucking awesome where even Chaos cant deliver the Bantz and shits themselves a little fighting them

While having none of the old elements at all is a misstep, the Newcrons have a neat 2000AD-esque flavour of goofieness that the setting really needs more of. Trazyn especially makes any plot he becomes involved in all the more enjoyable.

Of course turning the Eldrich Terminators into the somewhat comedic Ancient Aliens was an utterly bizarre decision and I totally understand why people get mad over it.

I did too but even DoW gave them a mouth piece via a pariah. Besides we got this out of it.
