You missed out man, a lot of the story is told through gameplay and set-pieces and getting to experience it for yourself.
And with the extensive free support and additional content the game is getting, you should still consider buying the game. Even as a non-gamer, you should be able to manage on the easiest difficulty. Just watched my 11 year old cousin beat the story without my help.
Of course if money is an issue it's a moot point. At least watch a full no-commentary walkthrough, and not just the cutscenes.

True but class customisation for the new game is very different, they have to be more considerate, and they have to work out some new options, because the customization in the last game was barebones, and now they have two other eras to worry about.
Look at the Empire for example. Most of their Customization options are used as actual Class default skins now. Scout and Officer, for example. The other shit in the 2015 game was retarded shit like Death Star Gunners and Shadow Troopers which don't fit onto any of the current classes, or frankly in the game at all. Shadow Troopers, if they ever add them, would be a special reinforcement that can actually go invisible.
The Rebels are a bit easier, as they're likely just going to get alien skins that can be pasted onto any class, and that's fine, but they probably didn't want to launch the game with ONE faction out of six having customisation. Dennis has been keeping quiet on how customization is going to work this time, but he has been heavily teasing the Clones in relation to customization.
So more likely than not, there will be an update (probably around the time they add Greivous) revealing that you can now decorate your clones with armor decals and shit. And they'll quietly throw in the Rebel aliens then too.

Okay I'll concede here about them carrying weapons and shit, but I still adamantly believe that these guys should not be seen outside the deathstar. Maybe they should have been made the default skin for the heavy on that map or something, I dont know, dont care, doesnt bother me, just glad the classes are map appropriate.
