She's not really that good at anything and has convinced herself shes great at everything

She cannot allow anyone to prove her wrong

Which is really pathetic considering she should be proud of her son's accomplishments

She’s retarded

>Which is really pathetic considering she should be proud of her son's accomplishments
Peggy's complete lack of familial feeling is perhaps one of the most interesting things about her as a character. She doesn't feel like a "mom" character, she's just like this ordinary selfish person who happens to be married and has a kid.

That's something I've noticed about both Hank and Peggy, neither of them really connect with their family. Peggy, as mentioned cares more about herself and her own ego than her husband and son, while Hank constantly tries to pretend that his family is his exact, warped fantasy: a wife who stays at home and cleans the house, and a son who excels at football and is basically a carbon copy of Hank when he was a child.

Well they both had shitty parents. Peggy's mom was retconned into being a bitchy rancher that tried to force her into an arranged marriage, and Hank had Cotton for a father and a pushover for a mother. I'm no psychologist but that could have something to do with it.

Hank certainly has some negative quirks when it comes to raising his son and fucks up occasionally, but at least for him I get a genuine, paternal relationship. For Peggy I see none of that.

>it takes bobby a couple weeks to be better than her at cooking
>all he had to do was read a fucking magazine for housewives
>instead of realizing she could do the fucking same thing and do it better since she is a fucking adult she decides to steal the fucking dinner
>episode ends with bobby being forced to spend thanksgiving with his creepy neighbor and hank having to reassure peggy she has any value

Bobby had a good time at least, and the Dale scene was gold.

Peggy's ego couldn't take it. It's rare to see such an egomaniacal character that looks the way Peggy does. You usually see that kind of ego from characters that resemble Nancy.

what does that man for bobby? how badly will he fuck up as a parent?

>tfw the first half describes me and the second used to
I don't even know when I realized I sucked at most things and was mediocre at some.

Yup
The hairdresser had to give hank shit, but the undertone is clear that she's unbalanced and needs to be reassured

Bobby's too pure to be corrupted, he'll be fine.

That's called being average

I wouldn't say I'm great at anything, people who are great at something are rich/famous

He'll be alright. Hank and Peggy aren't such screw ups that they ruined Bobby's future family, and he seems like a smart enough guy to realize when he's doing something shitty.

Honestly the biggest way I could see Bobby fucking up is by being TOO lax about how his kid(s) are raised, letting them get caught up in every scheme that Hank would have put the kibosh on for Bobby.

Hank genuinely cares about his son. Even if he does not necessarily approve of everything Bobby does, Hank loves Bobby and wants his son to grow up with "Texas values" instilled in him. Look at the "cool Christians" episode: Hank wanted Bobby not to look at religion as a fad that would end up in a box with a bunch of toys, but as something that could inform his values and help him lead a good life.

I got nothin' for Peggy, though.

Shes a piece of shit who doesn't deserve her friends and family or their love, just like her best friend Nancy.

>I got nothin' for Peggy, though.
She convinced Hank that using a ventriloquist puppet as a surrogate son is a really shitty thing to do, and helped convince Bobby that Hank actually does care about him.

It doesn't balance out the rest of her shitty behavior, but it does show there is some kernel of motherly behavior there.

>it's a good episode
>it's a Peggy-centric episode
Pick one.

Those moments are few and far between, though. On one hand, I can understand that - Hank is the central character of the show, and his relationship with Bobby has far more material worth mining. On the other hand, the lack of meaningful "bonding" scenes between Bobby and Peggy helped contribute to Peggy's nosedive in characterization after the first couple of seasons.

I just want to praise how well written this show is that we can still have these kinds of meaningful discussions about the characters fifteen years after it stopped airing.

>Bobby's too pure to be corrupted

...he's the Texas version of Moral Orel?

10 years, right?

Dunning–Kruger effect. It's massively common with people in general, but particularly amongst the uneducated.

Hank or Cotton compare him to mush in the military school episode. You can't build it up, but you can't tear it down either.

I know Peggy has done worse but this episode really gets under my skin

>Look at the "cool Christians" episode: Hank wanted Bobby not to look at religion as a fad that would end up in a box with a bunch of toys, but as something that could inform his values and help him lead a good life.
That was an asspull through and through he didn't like it because the kids skateboarded and listened to rock music, the fad thing came right out of nowhere.

Asspull, maybe, but lots of older people who have religion in their lives tend to see it as something that should be taken seriously and treated as a sacred part of a person's life. Hank saw Bobby turning Christianity into something "fun"; of course that would make Hank squirm.

"King of the Hill" was, at its core, a conservative show aimed at general audiences. Hank was as conservative as FOX was willing to allow without making him an out-and-out bigot. That included his views on religion.

I could see that but it's just like the writers realized Hank was being an ass throughout the episode and needed to invent something so he'd look right.

Name a single time Peggy wasn't in the wrong

>the fad thing came right out of nowhere.
I've seen this happen. It's happening in my church right how, I have to do a lot of extra reading to get anything of substance anymore.

>Bobby is very talented at cooking, knitting, charm, naturally funny, a crackshot, mostly keeps out of trouble, and can be really focused on getting something done if he puts his mind to it
>Hank is happy that his son is good at the same things he is and sometimes even better
>Peggy just shits on Bobby and ruined Thanksgiving

>What the fuck was her problem?
Hank says at the start of the episode if Bobby learns how to cook and clean for himself there's no reason for him to get a wife. THAT'S what Peggy's problem was. Her hairdresser was right, Hank had (innocently and unintentionally) made Peggy feel useless in her own home.

>ruined thanksgiving because her son did better housework
>was so willingly stupid she ended up smuggling a mexican kid to america
>got genuinely pissed off at bobby having a english-to-spanish dictionary
>so desperate for a job she told people to mix random chemicals because fuck it, putting lives in danger
>forced the stupid sub teacher award into the school and constantly flaunts it like it's some sort of honor
>constantly berated and punished bobby for her gnome being destroyed, even after hank confessed numerous times to breaking it because it was ugly

I enjoy Peggy for being such a cunt.

>forced the stupid sub teacher award
Wait, you're telling me that the Award wasn't a thing until she decided it should be, and somehow convinced or blackmailed someone into agreeing?
I vaguely remember the episode where she lost it after someone else won the award, but that's a whole new facet to her egomania.

>naturally funny
>he sold a joke to Yakov Smirnov for $20
>Hank didn't believe him, took the money, and accused him of stealing from his wallet
It was a minor part in the episode, but it sets my blood boiling every time I think about it.

>Sup Forums now hates Peggy
What happened to this board?

Literally everyone always hated Peggy, Sup Forums's been wanting to hatefuck her for years.

>it's a Bobby finds something he likes or is good at and Hank or Peggy ruin it for him episode

It's Hank's fault, if he knew how to eat the pussy right, his wife wouldn't be such an emotional wreck.

>wont even hug her at the airport
There's no way he chows down.

Eh, that one ended alright in my opinion.
The problem wasn't that he disapproved, but that he got caught up in the competitive spirit when he should have just been an observer.

Oh man I could write a whole fucking video on what the fuck was the problem with Peggy as a person.

1. Peggy can't handle being wrong. The moment when she's wrong, you know what fucking happens? She will continue to force people into her own warped reality that she's right all the damn time.

2. Peggy can't handle anyone being better than her. You do something good infront of Peggy, you know what happens? She shits on you and basically acts like she knows more.

3. Peggy is outlandish and very unrealistic with her dreams. When she took her spanish class to fucking Mexico, she took a kid by mistake because the dumbass walked on the bus. And Peggy literally thought that the kid was thinking that Peggy was her fucking mom. What? How the fuck does that make sense? What kid would think that entirely?

4. And the episode continues to go further on and on talking about how Peggy Hill knew spanish but the reality was that Peggy fucking didn't know spanish. She convinced the judge on a bullshit story entirely, when she could had just taken the fucking translator who knew more than her. But Hank being the good husband that he wants to be, he sends Peggy out instead so that her feelings are better.

Go to Mexican prison or make yourself feel better? Amazing.

5. Peggy also does good things for glory and also fucking goes into police crime scenes and tries to solve shit. Her delusional thinking is that bad.

Don't fucking marry a Peggy HIll Anons. It ain't good.

I hate both Hank and Peggy.
Hank as a character was ruined for me after that episode where Buck tried to set him up with some whore death or something. And in the end when he told Hank about that, he just went with "yeah, ok"

You think she'll get REDCORNED in the Seth reboot?

Her brain was in a jam because she was jelly of Bobby's home-ec skills. I guess what little time she spent in that sorority cult had a lasting impression.

Nah I think she will become less of a shit person and started to be more feminism for Luanne. Because fucking hell, Luanne is a fucking perfect example of basic white people.

No, hes the daili lama.

Peggy would probably against it too it wasn't considered the norm for their generation. I bet you the most they do is sex in the missionary position.

Nothing infuriates me more about the later seasons of KOTH than how the writers turned Luanne back into White trash by pairing her off with Lucky.

Peggy was also used good and married Hank letting him think he was her first.

Yeah, but I can't hate Lucky.
Partly because he's a decent guy even if he's White Trash, and partly because I was raised on Tom Petty music.

This Lucky may be Trash but he spent a ton of time trying to better himself(something that peggy actively sabotaged for some reason), and he was all around a decent guy.

>something that peggy actively sabotaged for some reason
>for some reason

Because she's peggy.

>thinking married conservatives don't get down

Just because you keep your shit private doesn't mean your shit isn't freaky and wierd.

He had morals. He didn't fuck Dale over when it would have been easy to do so.

peggy didnt want luanne to get with lucky, lucky said he wont marry her because he didnt have a ged or something

It's Hank Hill. Can you imagine Hank having passionate kinky sex? No, that's so OOC for him.
Other couples, sure.

You're supposed to hate peggy. She's one of the major villains of the show.

But Hank was just being naive thinking that he took the money from his wallet while Peggy would've told Bobby the joke was not funny and told Yakov himself to take the credit or try desperately to pitch a better joke

We're talking about Hank Hill.
The man has as much of a sense of foreplay as he has an ass.
He and Peggy have sex on the same night every week.
He'd probably find the thought of stimulating the clit with his fingers to be icky, though he might be able to get past it depending on Peggy's reaction, but that's where he draws the line.

Now Bobby, the thought wouldn't occur to him to try it, but if he were suggested to try it he'd probably master it quickly, like everything else he does.

If you pay attention to the series you'll notice that Hank has a tendency to say things that are dismissive or negative towards Peggy. If anything Peggy is a tragic figure who has to invent the support and praise she needs just to function. She's what happens when you take a perfectly average person, raise her on nothing but criticism, marry her to a distant, dispassionate man, and surround her with a peer group that is more attractive and successful than her. Her egocentrism is basically a survival mechanism, as otherwise she'd probably be suffering from severe depression and self-worth issues.

Her actual positive traits are that she's loyal, when she's not directly involved herself she has a pretty decent set of morals, and she tends to be far more supportive of Bobby and his interests than Hank.

The problem is that Bobby gets carried away with it more often than not. The one thing that's his true calling is being a comedian.

peggy is the worst human to ever live

simple as that

I forsee Bobby as being an alpha fucking chad when he grows up and gets to highschool/college

Smooth talker, many talents

>defending Peggy by dissing Hank

Your shits all fucked up Senpai

Nancy.

>alpha fucking chad
If he loses the baby fat, I agree.
It's either that or he becomes the not quite gay guy that everyone treats like a teddy bear.
I mean, my school wasn't the only one with one of those, right?

>bobby is too pure
Damn straight

I'm saying that Hank's personality next to her's is part of the problem. They're not that great of a match as far as couples go.

Mine died after collapsing at home, turns out he had an undiagnosed heart condition his obesity made worse.

I repeatedly got the impression that Bobby wasn't that funny, with the implication that he didn't really do anything that original either, he just emulated people like Carrot Top and Adam Sandler. I mean, it's not very difficult to entertain middle schoolers, and I don't remember him really amusing anyone else outside of the Propaniacs episode, which ended with the reveal that absolutely no one outside of the propane industry gave a shit about the act.

>It's either that or he becomes the not quite gay guy that everyone treats like a teddy bear which lets him slay surprising amounts of pussy because girls see him as non-threatening but sabotages his attempts at long term romantic relationships because women see him as just a friend or a buddy with benefits

That sort of suffering sounds like the epitome of Bobby

One of my friends is one of those, I still have a hard time believing he's straight.

>was such a bad fuck she turned the person who fucked her gay
zozzle

I have one of those too, he even has really strick parents.

...

Given his age it'd be a little too early to tell. He does live in a small town with little opportunity to practice and refine his material, but he's also shown to be easily distracted by other interests.

>I mean, my school wasn't the only one with one of those, right?
Oh no, my school had one of those too. I tried my best to fuck him.

Cooking is supposed to be her Thing, and seeing it becoming Bobby's thing scared the crap out of her.

Also keep in mind that she's got enough status & tenure as a teacher that she can teach kids that 2+2 is sometimes 5 and no one bats an eye.

Did hank and luanne fucked on the side? When peggy fucking survived falling from a plane, hank told her she should go to a motel. I don't remember the exact line of dialogue, but i think it was implied luanne wanted his cock

It's tough finding good King of the Hill porn, sometimes I just need to see a cock rammed down Peggy's throat.

I had a dream about raping mine once. It was an odd experience.

>It's tough finding good King of the Hill porn,
Tell me about it, there's still nothing about Donna the Accountant, those thicc thighs would've gotten her a mountain of fan art on any other show.

in other words:
she's just like her own mother

>I was the fat guy but I was too agressive so I hanged around the losers even tho the other kids liked me and invited to do stuff

>Sexualizing Peggy
Bro, no. Come on now.

Now this guy knows what's up.

>That Donna

Hence, the corollary to the Dunning–Kruger effect indicates that persons of high ability tend to underestimate their relative competence and erroneously presume that tasks that are easy for them to perform are also easy for other people to perform.

Is that why I think shit's hard until I can do it, then it's mundane shit that everyone can do

shit, first line was meant to be >
It's from the wikipedia page

Hey, that was me.

Fucking insanity, isn't it? Why is no one drawing Donna? Probably not even any fapfics on her.

Its an Award voted on only at the school its not a recognized award. She seems to have invented it.

She also started losing it when Hank was going to win the award not her then she accepted it on behalf of him and acted like it was hers.

Peggy is so perfect of a characters. Shes literally the perfect example of what modern internet feminists and things are. They want to think they are smart and the best. While anything that fantasy they have created for themselves drives them crazy.

I guarantee if men suddenly became the majority of stay at home parents but ended up doing it better then women ever did they would lose their minds and start demanding they have it back.

>Peggy Hill knew spanish but the reality was that Peggy fucking didn't know spanish.

In an earlier season there is a moment where Peggy is talking to Luanne about how she was offered to fill in for the German Language class and she said Nein. She thought Nein meant yes and wanted to teach the class despite knowing nothing about the German Language at all.

Hank actually did once. They fucked on that train party for Peggy's Birthday. While all there friends were literally just in the other room.

Hank isn't going to go crazy but he can be a passionate guy to his wife.

I don't know about better or not, but I know how it would go.
>Wake up
>send wife to work and kids to school
>bust ass all morning getting groceries and doing chores
>noon to one o'clock, the multiplayer servers heat up as everyone signs on to Overwatch or PUBG or whatever

>She also started losing it when Hank was going to win the award not her
Classic case of "am I out of touch? No, it’s the children who are wrong"
Peggy doesn't understand that normal people aren't enthralled by her amazing Peggy-ness and don't love her as a natural state of the world.
I can't fault her teaching, really. She legitimately loves it and wants to impart knowledge on her students (quality of that knowledge notwithstanding), but that doesn't make someone well liked. There's always that element of charisma that some people just... lack.
Kinda reminds me of Breaking Bad. Apparently Skylar's actress was surprised that people didn't like Skylar. Skylar's a bitch even if she's partially right. Walt's charismatic even if he's entirely wrong.

The biggest thing that makes getting stuff done a struggle is when you have like 2-4 year old kid running around they always want attention and will just fuck up your ability to get anything done.

But once they are at school full time you get basically a full day to get whatever you need done. Fuck if you were living in an apartment or something its even easier because the space is smaller.

Peggy is an interesting character, unlike any other I can think of. Without Hank and his socially conservative influence, she'd just be a stereotypical feminists caricature. She somehow ended up with a good man. With her personality, it would make a lot more sense if she was married to a spineless dope like Bill; or unmarried, with a bunch of cats instead of children.

>"Dale, come on, we're stealin' a news van!"
>"It's the perfect crime! How would they ever report it?"

I fucking love Dale.

It's sad when the most on-model thing to not look like shit has been Emily the hallway monitor giving a handjob to the principal of the school.

After all these years I still wonder why Bobby has Blonde Hair while his parents both have Brown Hair.

I know Peggy's side of the family has Blonde Hair too (see; Luanne) but how high are the odds that two dark haired individuals have a kid with light hair?

Is Blonde hair a recessive gene?
