Wonder Woman was basically a longer version of the DTV

>Wonder Woman was basically a longer version of the DTV
>Suicide Squad borrowed a great deal from Assault on Arkham
>Justice League was blatantly JL:War/52 Origin
>Aquaman is probably going to be heavily based on Throne of Atlantis
>rumors about Flashpoint
Is the DCEU just live action versions of the last couple of DTVs?

Well if they wanted dark they could have adapted gods and monsters

Can't be. The script Disney gave me tells me to say that the movies are nothing like the comics.

The world isn't ready for the metal men

Goddamn, I hated the voice acting for War.

Literally nothing in common between the movies you mention and DCEU movies except they star the same characters. Did you even watch any of them?

Also if Suicide Squad actually borrowed from Assault on Arkham it might've not been shit

Everything about War (and what it's based off of) was terrible.

Most definitely, but the actors were the worst part.

>Also if Suicide Squad actually borrowed from Assault on Arkham it might've not been shit
>plot revolves around Waller forcing Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, a waterbased rogue and an elemental based character, aka the only one with actual powers, to clean up one of her messes
>literally who member's head explodes to prove the bombs work
>Harley Quinn is the main character and is defined as an annoying whore, always making terrible quips
>Joker fucks everything up and despite being thought dead in a helicopter crash is alive at the end
>Batman is the sole hero involved and we learn about his past with Harley and Deadshot
>final scene is Batman warning Waller about the Squad
You'd be a fool to not see blatant parallels. Besides, they were both shit.

Oh, in that case, it didn't borrow ENOUGH from Assault on Arkham. That better? Fucking smart ass.

Oh, Suicide Squad wishes it was as good as Attack on Arkham.

>not updating his scripts

>live action movies are like the animated movies
>the animated movies are just adaptations of the comics

>these adapted origin story movies were basically like these other adapted origin story movies

You forgot Black Spider, a plot that actually made use of the squad properly, each member having something to do, Harley being actually Superhuman, Croc being properly superpowered, interesting romantic dynamics between Deadshot/Harley and Croc/Killer Frost, Batman showing up for more then a cameo, and cleaner and far more informative origins.

>comic movies are very similar to other mediums in the same franchise

>croc

>croc
It was king shark. Dickhead

Name one meaningful difference between the two.

I don't know, it would be really difficult to be worse than that animation.

>interesting romantic dynamics between Deadshot/Harley
>actually wanting Harley to cuck Joker

It's obvious that WB is treating them as lower-risk trial balloons for movies they're going to sink a lot more money into and required viewing for the screenwriters. A lot less time consuming than reading decades worth of comics.

>>Wonder Woman was basically a longer version of the DTV

If you're dumb

one is a shark and the other is a crocodile
dumb ass

I said meaningful. They are both humanoids themed after aquatic animals with similar powersets, personalities and purposes. Their animal motives are skin-deep.

They're both derived from Perez's first six issues of Wonder Woman which established Ares as Wonder Woman's first villain, though the movie also very loosely adapted elements from her Marston origin (where Dr. Poison was her first supervillain) and the daughter of Zeus stuff from Azzarello's run.

>>literally who member's head explodes to prove the bombs work
Taken directly from the comics

Saying this as though it's a criticism is very dumb. They own this property, referencing known, successful, established story-lines/character moments and polishing them up would only strengthen the mythos.

Unfortunately that's not what happened.

So? Everything that happens, including Ares' motivations, characterizations, goals... is different

It's only similar in the way that any Wonder Woman adaptation would be similar for following the same basic origin plot points.
