History of the DC universe

We beginning at the very beginning of the DCU.

Take a seat and learn something.

I'm reading 52 right now and they have that neat segment with Donna Troy at the end. Are they still an accurate summation of DC's Crisis events?

...

I'm not sure. I haven't read that.

Note that in the previous image the comet through time was actually batman sent by darksied during final crisis.

Most of this was undone by nu52. Rebirth only partial restored stuff.

You sure? As far as I know nu52 was a result of Manhattan erasing memories.

It wasn't 100% accurate to the comics even when it was published.

...

Who wrote this?

Nah reality itself is different too. He sent the other pieces in hypertime by stealing 10 years.

There's a lot still erased.

Note that when that she's bedded the queen of the Amazon's in the previous image when the Amazon's were once more allowed to have children.

This led to raiding parties wherein the Amazon's would seduce sailors and then kill them once sex was over.

Its part of the dc adventures tabletop game. Like DnD except set in the DCU

So not comic canon then. Good to know.

Comic canon to the nu52 point apprently, but somethings still stick. Like vandals origin, larfleeze, and the homo magic. There are more, but I haven't posted them yet.

...

...

...

>"not comic canon"
>99% of the text is literally cliff notes from canon comics
What did he mean by this?

Because it's some guy writing this by pulling shit from wiki and the books, not DC editorial itself.

>some guy
Steve Kenson is hardly just "some guy" and DC didn't let him used their IP willy-nilly.

why are there two Camelots

...

None of it applies to the books we have now.

Between Convergence, Rebirth, and the upcoming Doomsday Clock retcon, I'd say you're wrong.

I'm not saying they did. Just that this is a secondary source.

I'd argue it still does. The lords of order/chaos still exist and the history of the music events haven't changed.

What
Your comment is what proves him right
Three different things have changed time since this came out so it's no longer accurate

...

Are you even reading the images? Name somethings presented in the images that have been erased or changed.

>muh canon
You nerds are annoying. Why must everything be reduced to continuity porn? Let each story and each universe stand on its own merits not on this floaty designation of "canon" that changes every few weeks.

DC isn't restoring it all.

Those are small things. The order and many other characters don't exist.

Metal stated crisis happened but Barry never died.

Everything has. The challengers are covert ops in metal.

...

...

Erased stuff.

And end. After this the book goes over cities, space societies and gods.

Not him, but the stuff involving Atlantis was retconned with the New 52 and there's no sign of it ever being restored.

The Crisis events are pretty fixed. I'd read CoIE and Infinite Crisis before 52, so that segment was good for filling in the smaller details, but yeah, they're accurate as fuck.

The entire point of this is a writing of DC continuity. It is the entire point of this things existence. Of course not being canon matters here. Stop being mad.

Actually the context of this canon is a tabletop game in which you get to interact with DC history as it's main selling point.

This is more than just important, this is a living setting you get to use in your games.

Nope. Zero hour and infinite crisis still never existed.

Superman reborn fully restored final crisis and parts of crisis.

>not the History of the DC Universe companion comic Mark Wolfman and George Perez did for Crisis on Infinite World.
Literally what got me into DC, totally out dated by today standards but still definitive in my eyes.

I realized recently that after Convergence and Rebirth, DC's history now runs pretty smoothly from the Silver Age on. As fun as a good Crisis event can be, I hope they go the Marvel route from here on out and just have everything continue to count.

Rebirth has established that Nu52 was little more than a bit of screwing around with memories and a few years being stolen. From what happened in Superman Reborn I think we can safely assume that Nu52's changes are relatively moot at this point.

In what way? Cyborg was never a member of the titans, Barry never married, Ollie never joined the core Jl, the jsa is covert.

Only Waly Kid flash carreer and his Titan career and Tim drakes Robin career and pre flashpoint superman stuff was restored. The rest is still nu 52 as Jurgens said.

The entirety of Identity Crisis is gone.

Not really as the books said.

Those events weren't retcons creating new changes, they were erasing old changes. He said Nu52 invalidated this, but Rebirth and Doomsday Clock have essentially undone Nu52. Convergence effectively undid CoIE as well.

Rebirth did NOT fully restore it all.
