>NOBODY DIES FOREVER

indeed

also funko pops are good now

Looks like he's the most startled swamp creature of all.

endless, endless lulz at the CB stuff

Gil Kane.

florida weather.jpg

Did you see the "Hellboy is a soyboy" thread? Pretty big shitstain all around, but the Cuckold Society of America post made me laugh.

We missed you, OP

If only it were the explanation for Gabby Rivera as well

What I really want to know is how weeb Marvel is going to get from this point on

noooo

the week went really crazy and there was yet again too much vodka involved and I'm going to be good and not buy another bottle for another few months

Hey, who's to say Cebulski stopped at one? Marvel had secured an infinite supply of new talent.

0% because (assuming he's not fired) they'll be afraid of more cultural appropriation accusations now.

The more people suggest Jaime on the JSA the more I want it, if only to avoid him getting stuck with a shitty Titans run

I wonder what other writers CB invented

TWEEST: Brevoort is CB

the bit I'm interested in is "he came clean but people were really fucking mad, but he got the go forth and sin no more from the top", combined with the maybe true maybe not "he was known to freelancers as a ratfucker"

At this point we need a ‚has Marvel done something stupid again?‘ page.

Desu the most interesting part is like... every Bleeding Cool article in light of this.

Nah, he should be on a new team book:
The Sentinels of Justice

but right now it's frantic projection all around: people who think he's /ourguy/ and will purge the SJWs, people who think he might get more diverse stuff, people who want the diverse stuff and think he'll hire only white guys and ruin everything, lol

I was specifically thinking of the "Forget Rebirth--Marvel Wins" one after HydraCap dropped

i'm still mad about someone saying Jaime could fill the same role as Cyborg on JLA because it's just so good

Wasn’t it also confirmed that he was the Leech‘s source?

This has been a wild week. Also Libgen is back to normal in some ways. Depending on how you browse it, files should be back in organized directories

I think it's amazing how
A) he's not fired, because in any other career this would get you fired
B) Marvel knew for so long and still rewarded him
and C) BC is exposed as even more of a blatant shill central, and yet it probably hasn't lost a smidge of the little credibility it had

Speaking of which, Priest is making Cyborg team leader for the jl.

I'm fairly confident there's gonna be a Young Justice comic whenever the cartoon comes back and Jaime's on that team on the show, so he might be in that comic

>"Forget Rebirth--Marvel Wins"
God that was fucking amazing
Also that asslicking post Rich made when CB was confirmed as EIC

Yo Dave I was re-reading Moore books recently and I know you're a big Providence fan and holy shit Providence is so well put together but are you into manga at all alongside Lovecraft?

I've been eyeing these Gou Tanabe Lovecraft stories. Not sure if you know anything about them.

BC is still going down with the sinking ship of Avatar Press.
So, it's not all scot-free.

>Duggans Infinity Stones arc getting hijacked into an event
RIP
At least we have Darkhawk this week. OP have you storytimed Darkhawk before?

Here it is, sorry for the Outhousers, but, well

theouthousers.com/index.php/news/135407-nice-guy-rich-johnston-wont-spoil-captain-america.html

I decided to check out the "crossposted to subreddits" for BleedingCool's link and found a very confused kotaukuinaction post with people trying to figure out if they should be happy or not, and arguments over if they should support him to upset SJWs

Rich has literally been writing about C.B. getting promoted or just moving offices for year. Then again, Rich writes about anything.

Not the first time from someone either. Someone pointed out that Bryan Talbot got caught doing the same thing, publishing the a comic under the name " Véronique Tanaka"

What a buncha maroons.

i'm a comics cyborg fan post-Metal and his Rebirth Ongoing (RIP)

i had the feeling that was gonna end up as an event regardless. still confused about GOTG getting cancelled and that Adam Warlock issue becoming a one shot

Busiek is pretty sharp about all this and I'm willing to speculate that he's angry about the lies to TB, who is clearly a strong friend

ANd come on, it's not just a pen name, it was a full-on persona, and it was one carefully crafted to differentiate himself and to take on some unearned authenticity. There are white dudes who write and translate JP stuff very well, but he sure ain't Felipe Smith either (who is not a white dude, to be clear).

Oh shit, so glad you've gotten into Providence. It's fantastic and Issue 11 is probably my favorite single issue of that year.
It's the closest Avatar has come to having an evergreen classic.

And nah, I'm not much into manga despite some surface level stuff. I've heard of those but something in the art didn't hit that spot but reviews were generally positive.

Sure, but he's a pretty niche writer when you think about it, Luther Arkwright, Grandville... not exactly the most popular stuff, certainly not the fucking Editor in Chief of Marvel.

THIS WEEK IN THINGS THAT MADE ME MAD ON TWITTER

I mean, sure, but that's also the guy who did Luther Arkwright. You can't get weirder or more pretentious or more self-indulgent than Luther Arkwright.

And he is getting Spencer as his co-writer so expect a lot of build up and cliffhangers going absolutely nowhere.

yeah, i've been trying to craft something funny about how it's a great example of intersectionality. he fucked up like 5 different ways

Yeah I'm disappointed in the people defending this solely because some SJWs are crying "cultural appropriation", but not surprised.

Supposedly Nicola got a credit in the JL movie, and she's not even sure why but assumes it has something to do with Earth-2.

Oh and

Wait really? Between this and Strange it seems like Marvels keeping Spencer around on low-key events till the whole Secret Empire thing blows over

still not over it~

I have never storytimed Darkhawk

Comrade told me I still had to read Not Brand Ecch because it was "Nicky's bitter at Marvel, The Comic"

Stepphenwolf I guess?

also that rumor the bad guy was gonna be evil supes which happened on earth 2?

that strange thing is weird bc Loki's book still has the numbering

Because she designed horned Steppenwolf.

Hello, Storyteller.

Good to see you again.

On the topic of writers from diverse backgrounds, Owl Goingback makes his debut in the talent showcase this week. I care about no one else in that book.

NBE didn’t strike me as Nicky being bitter at Marvel, safe for maybe the dig at Bendis.

we're off tomorrow but should be back on Thursday

DESU his part in Not Brand Ecch just seemed half-hearted, none of it felt actually aimed at Marvel itself. Just mildly self-deprecating about some plot stupidity without addressing any of the things actually wrong with the event.

That Strange mini also seems to be about fixing Vegas, AKA the one thing that Spencer didn't Cube so there would BE CONSEQUENCES.

Which I think was already dealt with in Scarlet Spider, but I haven't caught up on that.

Well yeah, it's hard to top "I don't have an ending!"

If it's what he mentioned years ago on twitter, then it's a Poison Ivy story, so expect ivyleague outrage

Man-Thing is the best wingman

Hey now, Natasha is also still dead so that Bucky and Clint can mope over her.

Isn't she in a mini with them and it's more monkey paw for anyone who likes her not being story dependent on the mens?

>Gunk Fu
Jesus Christ Gerber.

No one these days has the balls to name a character F. A. Schist

Natasha should get back with Matt that seems to be the only relationship where she is allowed to be an independent character outside of being the girlfriend.

so how are you owls

I bought a mechanical keyboard and it's nice

There was a thread earlier today where the OP was upset that Hellboy had punched a Nazi. Yeah.

In less depressing and stupid news, Cassandra Sandsmark is coming back, along with Tim and Bart!

Or if they did, they'd get endless shit for "muh politics in comics ;_;"

I finally got a copy of Copra Round One And its beautiful

where’s the “whatever knows fear burns at the Man-Things touch” panel?

Hawkeye/Moonstone, it's time

Bucky/loneliness, I ship that

BuckyxHeinrich‘s rocket otp.

But they specifically broke up because Nat felt like she was just becoming "Daredevil's girlfriend"

Rooough week, same as you. Had a very nice and relaxing Sunday by going up to college town and chilling in my old haunts for the whole day

The threads for Crisis on Earth X have been pretty clean of shitposting, especially given the subject matter

Fine. Kind of sick of turkey, but not red skin potatoes. Still occasionally thinking how great Nier: Automata was.

I really wish people would stop whining about that. At the very least folks need to fuckin' accept that we live in an era where politics in media is a bigger thing than ever. Seriously, get over it. Bunch of fuckin crybabies.

I nearly bought it on sale but then I realized I'm not even playing ESO right now and I have Dishonored and there's no point until I get free time

oh i wanna bitch about the Aubrey Sitterson thing but it's Sup Forums so i can't. wild shit idw

The one case where the d&c crew succeeded sadly.

>tfw your friends are too busy to do anything
Agh, I want so badly for you to play this game so we can talk about it! Patience though, patience.

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened there but it's kiiind of a bad look for IDW?

I have such a horrible Steam backlog and I'm so bad at setting aside undistracted time and my goal for work this week is "no nervous breakdowns"

Situation is fucked and publisher clearly acted in bad faith but Sitterson's G.I. Joe ideas were also fucking retarded and taking a socialist, anti-military stand on a G.I. Joe is fucking lol.

...

I'm not losing much sleep after his 9/11 thoughts. Shit was retarded and I'm a New Yorker.

IKTF. Hundreds of games, half I haven't played, and I still buy more occasionally.

...

>I'm a New Yorker.
Ouch, not a fan of Veitch as well I assume

Eh, I don't totally blame them because at the end of the day IDW is mostly just banking on ancient licenses like Marvel and DC do, and as we know anything construed as political in your mainstream action comics is sales poison right now.

Eh, I don't really give a shit if people don't think it happened. I know what I saw.

But Sitterson was just being an isolationist fucking asshole.

F

:(

F

i mean idw shoulda done something like let the book have the 4 issues or whatever and quietly cancelled it then.

like trying to not bring my politics into it about how they fucked up

also don't bull whataboutism with like orson scott card because then i'm just exposed as hypocrite

FUCK

F

>hurting doggo
Cheap shot

Margo's Napoleon must have been a very, very good doggus

>anti-military stance in Gi-Joe
Pffft!

By the way, am I alone in thinking Gi-Joe would be better off as a video game franchise? Its premise and leans work against it hard as a cartoon and comic book, since military themed works have never been terribly popular in either medium.

Video games though? Shit, it'd be right at home, and would probably stick out from the rest with its bright colors and distinctive character designs.

Jenni might be on Flash

It's probably Dawn though

Sure, I agree IDW handled it very badly. But to any publisher what they ultimately care about is bottom line, and a lot of comics moves feel like attempts to obscure that.

But if you want to score points with G.I. Joe you just need to amp it up to the point of parody IMO. Toning it down is like, the opposite of what G.I. Joe is. And Larry Hama wrote a lot of just solid military comics on that brand.

>GotG #151 will not be resolicited; its contents will now be published as Infinity Countdown: Adam Warlock one-shot with the wwrong interior artist listed; there will be also Infinity Coumtdown: Prime; GotG will have another relaunch soon
>Dennis Hopeless said on episode 16 of the Battle of the Atom podcast on X-Men fansite Xavier Files that he's still working on Jean Grey

>the demon gets away with it

What a shitty year for comics.

Well, I mean in some regards video games are an evolved form of toys.

Read for F2P GI Joe game with loot cares to simulate the toy store figure hunting experience?

what the fuck is going ON with this book?

>Dennis Hopeless said on episode 16 of the Battle of the Atom podcast on X-Men fansite Xavier Files that he's still working on Jean Grey
Then why is it skipping a month then? I wish Marvel would actually note final issues

>defenders is the only one with AS PLANNED BY WRITER

holy fuck my sides.

what the fuck are they doing with guardians tho.

i liked his pitch of focusing on saving and protecting people.
