"The organic ecosystem creates resources unique to this world, we can't sacrifice all that potential just for one geo-weapon"
What did Peridot mean by this? What does she think earth has to offer Gems? Ladybugs and sitcoms? What do the Gems lose by sending the animals to a zoo and colonizing the planet?

>Ladybugs and sitcoms?
Yes.

seeing as gems take a ton of time and effort to produce, they have to colonize an entire planet to make them as they cant reproduce and they have to be careful because otherwise they end up with thousands of deformed tards i would say earths more useful resource is humans
Just think how better and easier would it be to expand the empire if they enslaved them, self reproducing units who can learn and adapt and only need water, organic matter and oxygen

Bio-weapons. She wants to make the Zerg.

The unique resourced are the animals and shit that take the natural resources of the earth to survive. When gems turn a world in a gem factory they remove those resources and since the gems don't die the resources never go back into the earth. Life is a cycle and gems break that cycle. There's no difference between the earth and a gem made terrarium except for the scale.

Lots of liquid water is one thing lost, and for whatever reason they actually have gems that use that shit. I imagine being mineral people they'd have a use for limestone and whatever other organically derived minerals we have. Silk is also some serious shit they could have a million applications for. The biodiversity at the very least could offer knowledge in a molecular and engineering context. Actually studying what nature has done on it's own could inspire several technological innovations for them as it has for us.
There's countless lifeless rocks out there you could stripmine or blow up, but living worlds are an extreme rarity.

I think mostly Peridot just has a love boner for the Earth now, she doesn't want all this unique beauty to disappear

>space civilization with robots needs expensive organic slave labor
>they need earth for muh water
That's always stupid when it comes up in scifi but it's especially stupid in this case. "A Lapis terraforms"

This is just sad.

their robots are shit, they aren't even sentient, humanity right now is coming up with better robots

...

You don't need sentience for automation and any job that requires skill could be done better by a Gem than a human.

Sentience is not a desirable trait in slaves. Except purely as a status thing, which is where the forced scarcity of Pearls comes in.

That pic reminds me of link related

Don't do these things

>robot designed to execute code
>sent to colonize odd planes in outer space
>arrives in planet and turns out his code isnt capable of properly adapting it to the planet and it gets stuck one way or another since it can't learn
>just wasted even more resources
vs
team of human scientist send on mission to to strange planet
>they carry everything they need for survival plus tools and spare shit in case of emergency
>they are faced with some unexpected circumstances
>they are able to adapt and continue the labor of terraforming the planet
>they reproduce so their children can help them and take their place

Research into less wasteful gem production for starters.

>Sentience is not a desirable trait in slaves
if you want them picking cotton it isnt
if you want them conquering the universe it is
its cheaper and easier to have humans anyways, humans are expendable and gems can make more easy
at the very least you could send them with the robots to maintain them

>ladybug
There was a Dragon Quest commercial last month in Japan. A live action parody of a girl in a slime costume in the middle of a field. Her outfit was dirty (I'm guessing after her catipiler friend died). She said something hopeful I think? Then a ladybug flys away from her.

I know a ladybug means good luck and good changes in the future. So there's that.

They could just create life on space stations and make their kindergartens there or terraform dead worlds or better yet make a ringworld sized kindergarten and have more Gems then they would ever need.

Space has a lot of resources, they don't have a resource problem. They have a bad writing problem.

We're talking about a society that, for the most part, shatters deformed gems instead of just putting them to work
They wouldn't see or care about the potential worth of humans. Yellow Diamond especially.
And I think you're overestimating their worth anyways. Humans are too fragile / high maintenance compared to Gems.

Provided the gem isn't an incompetent neurotic incapable of any flexibility in their thinking. Like every single gem in the entire series. For an immortal race of manufactured hard light holograms designed to fulfill specific purposes gems fucking suck at their jobs.

They don't tho.

They don't suck at their jobs. They suck at everything else.

>Sapphire: fails to correctly predict the future in her earliest appearance
>Blue Diamond: spends millennia moping about her sister rather than doing her fucking job, ensuring roughly a third of gem civilization is poorly supervised
>Jasper: overachieving hypocrite who hides a truckload of insecurities behind her job, breaks down and starts fucking dogs when she can't do her job properly
>Emerald: spaceship captain outsmarted constantly by one teenage shithead and a pile of walking gem abortions

Peridot's a competent kindergartner and techie at least. Pearl's partly so neurotic because she's trying to be an actual capable person and she was built just as an arm candy PA. Amethyst by her own nature is a half-baked failure, her sisters seem to work okay in spite of the prejudices against them.

>too fragile and high maintenance
>make a big as fuck army of humans and let the sick on die since you have so many
im not saying they are better than gems, humans are the cheap expendable units you can afford to mass produce, what they lack on intelligence, lifespan, power, etc they make up by being millions
seriously give humans spca travel technology and 300 years to catch up and we would conquer gems just by having a massive population explosion, you don't need a special weapon to shatter a gem since amethyst cracked by falling into a rock
sure they have clusters but we have nuclear weapons and its not like there aren't enough planets to hide in

Too high maintenance means their upkeep will be more expensive in the long run, to be honest.

humans require specific earth like conditions to thrive, gems don't even need air. The number of gem compatible habitats in space massively outweighs human compatible ones, to say nothing of the fact gems can be mass produced with any mineral. Gems are superior both in cost and number and have no nutrition requirements, no habitat requirements, no gestation, no expiration, no maintainence; they're very close to a perfect labor force.

The problem with those is that their reproduction seems to run off of "life energy" which is why the earth kindergartens are dead.

Life is easy to create.

you haven't heard a single thing i said
>humans require specific earth like conditions to thrive
not really and it's not like it can't be replicated with ease

imagine humans developed cheap space travel, cheap technology to make settlements, cheap space armour and lasers and we already have people in 50 different planets and outnumber the gems 100 to 1 which is entirely doable on that time frame
they wouldn't stand a chance
remember, gems are old and take things slowly plus most of their technology is only threatening to other gems
in their perspective each time they kill a human three more take his place

>they don't have a resource problem. They have a bad writing problem.
we don't know what gems need to be produced and according to peridot like a million different things can go wrong
a gem that's born broken stays eternity broken and they ain't cheap to make
do you think the diamonds would want 2/3 of the gem population to be defects?

>What did Peridot mean by this? What does she think earth has to offer Gems?
Carbon and shit, probably.

It's probably not literally life energy, more like the nutrients and compounds in soil necessary for life. A gem Kindergarten sucks all of that out of the soil, creating a dead zone.

...

Remember when we watched this show with hopes for a bright development and now we only watch it what the fuck happens and then move on with our lives?

Gems can put nutrients in gem apples that they feed to the zoomans but they can't make miracle gro?

You're not really helping your case that gems should use humans as slave race. You're making them sound like volatile factor that you have to constantly monitor and is too much trouble than it's worth.

The kindergarden damage cannot be undone apparently.

>breaks down and starts fucking dogs when she can't do her job properly
this is relevant to my interests

She got an STD from it.

still relevant. Explain.

After getting curbstomped by Smoky Quartz (Amethyst/Steven fusion), out of desperation she fused with one of the corrupted gems, that looked like a giant dog, to become stronger. It wasn't enough, Jasper was still defeated and after she defused she started to corrupt.
Steven tried to save her, but she called out Steven's bullshit, saying that she won't be manipulated into joining them.

You can create dirt and create land to put that dirt on and create plants. There is literally no reason you can't build a kindergarten anywhere. Even if making a kindergarten creates some kind of deadzone you've got the entire fucking galaxy, space isn't something you're ever going to run out of.

He sounds like a HFYfag. He probably got distracted by his raging boner for human superiority.

>HFYfag
actually the gems suck
they need to suck a planet's resources to create more soldiers which is really hard apparently since they only have a handful
all you need to do is attack their colonies and they are fucked
they are fucking lucky that there isnt a single competent race out there advanced enough to wipe them out
any other species on those conditions would have figured out its better to invest into getting robots advanced enough to colonize for them, hell we irl humans are doing that
are humans superior? to gems yes, to anything else no
