so we're going back to the past AND to an alternate timeline?
regardless of what dudes thought about the quality of the movie nobody thought that considering the dceu was literally just starting

Why do they have to be competitors
I'll never understand this utter horseshit mentality

Who the fuck is going "Wow I really enjoyed Avengers. Now I am a Marvel fan, and so will NEVER watch a DC movie, and thus I hope every DC movie SUCKS so those FUCKERS who like DC SUFFER!!!!!!!!!!"

It's 2016 and people took their disappointment, and anger, all out on this scapegoat, rather than admitting the others are actually worse.

DCEU wasn't even a thing until BvS was announced.

It’s the only competitor

This

95% (or probably even higher) of people who watch marvel movies also watch DC movies.

That would be when BvS got announced.

Suicide Squad is fine. It's not a good movie but I didn't regret watching it.

After BvS, being a fan of only DCEU movies and having good taste became two mutually exclusive concepts. You have to watch both if you want to actually watch some good movies.

I remember tons of people were skeptical about that movie the moment Zack Snyder was announced as tge director. And they turned out to be right.

Or you could not be a fan of the DCEU or MCU and take every movie as its own thing like you do with every other movie ever created

Of course you're right

They have the same audience

But retards will go retard, they're delusional because they need approval of their preference

Uhh... I just said that

Nolan being involved and the god tier trailers gave people lots of hope despite Snyder.

In the same way that South Korea's only Korean competitor is North Korea

Sorry, I honestly was not really understanding what you were trying to say with your post.

Because those 2 form a monopoly, company wars ia good way to make people believe that the is no such thing as Image and Darkhouse

Well if we’re making Korea a metaphor for superhero cinematic universes, pretty much

We're not talking about comics, where they are literally competing for your dollars

Most of these movies aren't even out at the same time. People aren't going "I can only see one movie this month", they'll go out and see any movie that they hear is good.

Oh, boy a Nolan-esque realistic, gritty and down to earth Superman! It's a stupendous idea to break into the super hero genre and distance themselves from what Marvel is doing!

Who's the director for this again?

Remember when people thought that MoS and BvS were going to follow Nolan formula?

Bullshit it was just another generic shitty Snyder movie like Sucker Punch and 300

They did, just in a very bad and shallow way

I just realized I was the only one who actually followed the OP without reading the rest of the thread and now I feel like that retard who actually does the dumb shit everyone else was just joking about...

It's ok user don't get self conscious

Mos did follow the Nolan formula flat out.
The action is all Snyder (which is a good thing because the action in the Nolan films 90% is universally agreed to suck)
But the quite 40 minutes of little to no action between the end of the Krypton sequence & the smallville battle screams Nolan.

Remember when we thought Goyer was the problem?

It's also screams a thousand other directors.

Man, people were really naive for a solid 3 straight years.

Choosing to spend half the movie on destruction porn in overlong fight scenes is always the director's fault.

Right, any comic book movie being as much a disaster as JL is bad. That means people are starting to tire of comic movies, and the industry as a whole is in danger.

I'm a cartoonfag. I can't see why Marvel and DC fans can't just want general success for both sides. It's good for the business as a whole. Both companies aren't going away anytime soon.

meh i was more entertained by this garbage than 90% of mcu flicks

>duuuuh bad taste in movies
literally none of these movies are "good" in any meaningful sense. They are all junk food films

I think most of us want DC to succeed. Wonder Woman was great. It's sad that DC learned absolutely nothing from its success.

>says this in the same year where Wonder Woman, Thor, a second movie of Guardians of the Galaxy and the 3rd reboot of Spider-Man all made over 800m and the latest Avengers trailer exploded on every social media
Yeah, no. JL failed for a lot of reasons but the bubble bursting wasn't one of them.

This isn't a bubble. The movies are so varied on a in individual basis that they can occupy any genre from Westerns to Fantasy to Space Opera. There's no limits.

But only Nolan was involved in this film..

I feel bad for Zack Snyder. He did good in '300', 'Watchmen' and then, somehow, he couldn't handle Superman. His Man of Steel was obvioulsy meant to be an alternate take on the pretty well stabilished character, much like several Elseworlds, but Tsujihara had to ruin everything and then blame him. And his daughter died! And then Joss Whedon comes after that enourmously disappointing Week of Ultron/Black Widow x Hulk pointless shipping/Blahblahblah Sokovia that made Marvel kick him out, and not only ruins Justice League, but spend the few months of post production remaking the whole flick instead of finishing the god damn effects properly.

Now DCEU is this mess, not exactly Snyderverse, not exactly classic DC, and all ruined for everybody.

Patty Jenkins did her best, David Ayer had his movie entirely butchered by the editors, three directors quit Flash because they couldn't get freedom to direct the damn movie properly, and James Wan is the next in line to show the best he could do with Aquamomoa.

I'm sad. I want these movies to work. Will it work someday, maybe after Warner is properly merged by AT&T and someone decent is put in charge?

Before we go any further let me ask ypu this.
>what is the Nolan formula?
Because if your argument is that since Nolan directed the dark knight trilogy then that means Nolan is responsible for any subversive take on superheroes then no.

Nolan's Batman isn't even that subversive of a take. He took out some fantastical elements but I feel like Batman was relatively unchanged.
>still driven by the pain of his Mother and Father's death
>is still trained in eastern martial arts by ninjas
>still wears a mask and cape
>still fights criminals and supervillains
MoS on the other hand is a deconstructionof Superman.
>what if he wasn't raised in an idyllic middle america but in a contemporary setting?

I stopped defending Snyder after BvS. He had his chance. I was one of his most vocal supporters prior to that abomination.

I still think MoS was good. The DCEU is irredeemable at this point. Wonder Woman can't save it.

MoS pisses me off because it could have been the greatest Superman movie if Snyder hadn't had his head so far up his ass.

It was a complete mess of a movie that succeeded because it got really good press and because normies thought Gal Gadot was hot. I strongly suspect its sequel will be less successful because audiences weren't as impressed with it as the box office numbers would seem to indicate.

IMO it is the greatest visualization of Superman.

Fights are spectacularly well done. Really all visuals are spot on.

this really

You have to have some sort of standards.
Most junk food fans wouldn’t eat Little Cesar’s.

How?
Even as competent movie, it fails.

Plus amazing, memorable soundtrack.

the DCEU would work if they followed up with MoS2 instead of BvS. Introduce Bruce into the fold during the film, but never fully introduce him as Batman. It should've been MoS > MoS2 > Worlds' Finest > BvS > Wonder Woman > Flash > Aquaman > Justice League.

And this is exactly why MoS is such a shit movie : Despite objectivly good fights, the action scenes are boring as hell cause no one gives a fuck about what's going on.

they should have stayed on the marvel formula.
MoS 2, WW, Batman, Flash, Aquaman movies before the JL one.

>I don't know about this guys. It's really dark looking. Doesn't he look a little too sinister here?
I said it back then when this picture was all we had to go on and look how it turned out.

>They are all junk food films
Uh, so was suicide squad hombre.

I remember seeing MoS with all my friends, and we all agreed it had it's moments. We all loved the Krypton stuff, and the flaws didn't seem insurmountable -- it was a "different take" as they say. It's still probably the best DCEU movie Snyder has done
I still listen to this review from time to time.
