All this year I'll be posting Punisher comics. Most of them will be from the pre-Ennis era, but some will be from the Ennis era. Expect at least 1 storytime per week.
In the early 90s Marvel used to run multiple "events" in their Annuals each year. The basic formula was they'd have every Annual that came out in the same month all tie-in to a larger story (though each issue was usually more or less self-contained). In 1991 The Punisher was part of an "event" called "The Von Strucker Gambit", which... I'm not even sure what the fuck it's about, but it involves The Punisher teaming-up with Nick Fury and fighting a guy with a dick for a head. Seriously.
It also has what might be one of the most misleading covers ever, as it really has NOTHING to do with Daredevil or Captain America (their issues tie-in to this "event" as well, but they do nothing in this issue).
Plus we've got some additional stories by Mike Baron, and some pin-up art.
You can still check out The Punisher's part in other "events" in these threads:
"The Evolutionary War": "Atlantis Attacks": "Lifeform": PUNISHER ANNUAL #4
And yeah, I don't usually start storytimes this late. Or ever actually. But I was doing something earlier and didn't have time before now, so I almost didn't storytime today at all, but I wanted to keep storytiming once per day this month, so better late than never I guess.

Kinda new to the punisher, I appreciate the thread OP. I have a few comics myself I picked up from a sale and they're nice reads. If I were to go read the punisher from the beginning, would it be in the order of the storytime threads you posted earlier? Or is there a definitive reading list

>If I were to go read the punisher from the beginning, would it be in the order of the storytime threads you posted earlier?
It wouldn't kill you to read the storytimes I posted in order, but they're not exactly 100% in exact order either, even if they're mostly close to it.
There's also another site that archives Sup Forums threads much better than desuarchive, If desuarchive doesn't fix image archival soon then I'm gonna start posting links on the other site instead and you could easily read all the storytimes there.

It's always nice to see Michael Golden draw The Punisher. It's just a shame that he never did any interior work on the character.
Landon Watson
Not really any big name artists on this issue.
Ian Green

Daniel Brooks

It's weird how differently this is told compared to every other version of the origin.

AHAHAHAHAHA! This shit is hilarious!

OH SHI-
What the fuck?!
Well that was definitely unexpected.
Evan Martin
Fucking phenomenal story. This was definitely the surprise of the issue.
Camden Brown
>that last panel >that Punisher skull at the end
I can not put into words how much I love this.
Jaxon Sanchez
Beautiful artwork.
Eli Morgan
The best part of this is the reflections in the mirror.
Jeremiah Peterson
This is one of the best Punisher pin-ups I have ever seen.
For anybody who doesn't get what's going on here, that guy is disguised as a female (a prostitute maybe?) and hiding the drugs in his dress. You can see the wig falling off his head and you can also see that he has stockings on. The Punisher is ripping the dress off and the drugs are spilling out.
Aside from being hilarious and telling a story, it's also a beautifully drawn page in general.
Christopher Baker
Some decent art.
Carter Taylor
I have never been a fan of Jim Lee, but The Punisher was one of the few characters that he drew well. It's a shame that this never came out because it looks like it could have been amazing.
Juan Robinson
Anybody else been reading The Platoon?
Ian Torres
>Anybody else been reading The Platoon? How does it compare to "The 'Nam"?
Adrian Williams
Bump for reading

Cooper King
I think it's probably better than The 'Nam so far.

The Microchip story was better than the main story yet again.

This seems like a very foolish decision on Farnk's part.
Matthew Peterson

Isaiah Bennett
This guy is a cheerful son of a bitch I'll give him that. Head looks like the tip of a cock though.
