How do I make sure my comic doesn't become a Kiwi Day N, /hyw/?

So here's my entry
1/12

2/12

3/12

4/12

5/12

1. Don't be a pedophile
2. Don't use comicgenesis
3. Prioritize character development over puns and references

You'll be fine.

6/12

7/12

8/12

9/12

10/12

it's as if strawbs has already said because of school he's having trouble getting a page done a week, let alone finding time to practice.

11/12

12/12

I believe in her. Anybody got a chance to improve.

These threads are making me think we should stop calling them webcomics... and start calling them WEEBcomics!! O_O

the thing is get why she isn't improving right now. school is tough shit.

...

New page guys

>he

What the fuck is Strawbles? I’ve heard she he tranny what is Strawbles?

Cute!

Awesome job!

stop making shill threads, pedo

>what a beautiful duwang
>C H E W

Okay this is great. You've really gotten into the humor appropriate for this crossover. I love it

Except he is improving, massively.
Haven't you ever had a dog or something? You praise when they do well. You don't just scold non-stop regardless of behavior. Strawbs was on extremely good behavior at the end of the last thread. Makes me proud.
But was there any support? naw. more hostility. This makes the Mabel maintain bad behavior.
I believe in you, strawbu

I just can't not laugh. The mask and wig being shitty and being put on upside-down is the best. I still don't know if you're trolling or halfway real but I'm going to enjoy the ride
Do I want to know what sex that-thing-from-Galaga represents?

Fuck off, pedo.

>Do I want to know what sex that-thing-from-Galaga represents?
When I was younger I never played Galaga, only pacman, and since that spaceship appears in the same place as fruit, I thought for years that it was some kind of exotic fruit so it represents every single bizarre gender-fluid, transgender bullshit you can think of.

Yeah, I like boys.

>have you ever trained a dog before
guess I'm a furry now.
jokes aside thank you user

>fruit
hehehe. I get it.

im not going to make it am i

...

You've already created a pretty fantastic villain here: a big evil floating crystal that goes around and fires rays at people that make cubic crystals emerge painfully from their bodies. I don't know about making-it, but you could make that.

I get you have to be active on social media if you really want to promote your stuff but I hate the idea of authors being so approachable. Like imagine if JK Rowling wrote Harry Potter while on Twitter like she is today. Too many fans get rowdy when they think they can alter a story by sending you DMs

J. K. Rowling is a twat

This. It's hard to imagine it being any worse. At least perhaps we wouldn't have gotten so roped in.
Just remember you only want to promote your stuff there if you literally want anyone reading your comic, even normies (I know, I know, but you know what I mean). If that's your goal then rowdy fans shouldn't even be on your radar

Is it more fun to draw humans or science fiction/fantasy stuff like robots, dragons, monsters, aliens, etc

Definitely the latter. More fun to read, too. Humans should just be the boring NPC townsfolk. The party should ideally be all the best stuff that's the most interesting.

t. numale

>identifying more with the big violent monster thing than the boring civilized human makes you a beta
kay

Is anyone from webcomic land, lurking here?
This is Sketch, the author of End Game Was Taken, I want in on that server.

The most recent page is attached, as an example of my work.

jesus christ what a circlejerk EESH

New page of Witchway's Witch!

You are going to sell so many plushes of that thing. Especially if you keep drawing it like a living plush.

>Can't
Should that be "can"? Though I don't know the context....

Not a native English speaker?
It's an odd phrase, it can be either "let's see if we can" or "let's see if we can't" the latter being slightly more jocular and mildly dysphemistic.
Grammatically it should be "whether" rather than if, but that's just how it's said.

They're both right, but "can't" implies a more negative connotation. As said, "if" isn't technically right, but I've found a lot more people use it in day-to-day conversation.

>Chupacabro plushes
We'd have to make variants. I want one that shrugs.

okay got a solid idea for a comic, now to flesh it out with a script ...

So why is it a negative connotation? Aren't they trying to find her

They are, but so far they've been unsuccessful. "Let's see if we can't" is more of a tired "well let's just try again I suppose."

...

Last page!

I'll start inking maybe next week.

Like a week ago I told her broken english was more interesting and posted duwang

Is this porn?

She truly is one of us. I like when people can laugh at themselves.

...

No.

Thought this would be fun to show. Here's my first wave of sketching, trying to figure out panels and composition.

And here's my second wave, figuring out all the finer details like actual perspective and what items to throw in a room, etc.

After this, I copy a page, transfer to a new document, and start inking.

This looks.... interesting.

interesting process for sure.

Trying to get back into the groove of things for Witch's Hill. I want to build a relationship between Amy and the ghosts before I hit the next story arc. I'm planning to shift my comic to strips during that time. I think it'll work best with the type of interaction I'm planning.

Turns out I forgot how to draw again.

Also, I'm finally free from this random range ban!

But then I re-learned some of it - but not a lot.

very enjoyable great way to start a thread

Comic stuff.

Praising you.

>school is tough shit
If you don't masturbate to hentai and zonk out watching cartoons It can be easy.

Work. Now, that is tough shit. Try working eight hour shifts a week at a deadend job and then doing overtime during the holiday seasons.

Appreciate what you have now.

Also, what font do you use?

I didn't notice any change from school to work except no dedicated ride but also no getting up and going to different subjects all day. Just a simple task to do every day. It's still hell but it's not actually hard, beyond the sleep loss

Why isn't this menality applied to ColdFusion. He can be fucking upstanding sometimes. Nah, non-stop vitriol.

Why would I hold anything but vitriol for a pedo

Sunday comic fonts.

>I'm so fucked up
You need to redraw the panel, user.

If you're going to make a homage, do it the right way.

Not everything is an anime reference, dude

>anime
EoE is art.

Thank you.

>doing what he love
>making comics
>come to /hyw/ incessantly and continuously
>ward off these presistent rumours to talk comics
You should hold some admiration for his effort.

>come to /hyw/ incessantly and continuously
you say that like it's a good thing

I was originally going to start Witch's Hill in the town, so I made some models to help me with the buildings. Found the old sketchup file. I might make a few more buildings to add variety. I'm going to need it.

If you had showed us this back then, it would have been impressive. Now you've set the bar so high this is just kind of you

you got a point there. But, Shaming people doesn't improve things too.

Look at dobson or chris chan or dewd. The only thing we could do is try to help her.

Also, possibly even more important,
Don't take the fact that you've tried to help as an excuse to hold a self-pity party and throw a mini-fit if they don't immediately do as you've instructed. Even if they show some resistance, if you just throw up your hands and say fine, 5 times out of 9 they come around later and do what you said. Maybe even say you were right. Or at least apologize for being so difficult.

Dumb 4 panel I made

I like that he's completely happy about his predicament until judged by the... leaf man?

why did I type that
I meant log man

Im trying to learn how to draw before going digital. Im still absolute shit, but if you guys can see something, can you pinpoint my main flaws besides "everything"?

I already got some advice on improving my lines which are too sketchy. Maybe work on proportions?

PD: Yes I know drawing in stripped sheets is retarded but again, im just doing it to practice.

As an extra, does it look like anime? I wanted an "Avatar" style but im doubting it.

small cranium and/or high eyes, low mouth, various body part shapes,
It looks a little bit anime but it mostly looks like "the way half of everyone seems to draw anime when they're teenagers" Avatar does do some low mouths from time to time so I can see that influence.
It's definitely time for you to work on proportions and anatomy, so it's time to bust out those guides and get practicing. If you ever feel bad about yourself, just know that you look just like a ton of other people's art, and some of those people got good.

I also have the castle in sketchup. Both the exterior and some of the interior.

As good as I get.

You ever thought of making a video game based on your stuff? Even just a simple text adventure?

been workin on me comic, got at least one more page finished

I made a ball just for fun

Thank you user, that helps. About the low mouth thing, I thought about it but wondered if my faces were just too long. Ill start practicing more and more with the comic.

ok
hope you had fun

teenagers and teenage demons are always the best of friends. I miss that 'Preteen Demon' comic.

Shit. Madballs.
I find it helps to imagine everyone with a moustache and ask yourself if there's enough room for one, or too much
