Not this god damn thread again, fuck off

>that episode where everyone stopped caring about the main villain right after jobbing to him hard

#NOTneutrality

youtube.com/watch?v=dh8sVHb5oOA&

youtube.com/watch?v=9mZs-1XLw0s

youtube.com/watch?v=8h0ChK4sh8s

Do the people who say this shit forget about that one particular group of people they hate and are obsessed with who are masters of slithering their way into positions of power in corporations and will just use the uncontrolled power of the isp's now to censor the internet?

>implying everyone who doesnt want netneutrality is a jew-fearing neckbeard

user..

>jew
I didn't mean jews, user.
I don't use pol.

>tripfag posts links to videos without making an argument
Yeah, I’m sure this post is worthwhile

>Family Guy
>using an internet meme before it's moldy and stale
>ever

>OP posts meme without making an argument

But its not a meme that's been propagated to saturation point around the net or this website.
Its just something that happened in a television show that happens to be applicable to current events.

>post meme on site known for memes
>tripfag who still doesn’t get that tripfags are cancer has a problem
I’m not op, but you’re acting dumb

I want you to know, that my uncle is a mod here, and he will ban you for your hateful anti-irish rhetoric.

>THE OP DID IT SO WHY SHOULDN’T I DO IT?
Nice holding others responsible for shit you pulled, assface. Filtered

uhhhhh

that was just me making a funny pre morning shitpost

Wouldn't "speed throttling" run afoul of Federal Trade Comission regulations anyway?

That didn't mean fuck all in the early days of the internet when comcast throttled pier to pier connections.
Fail to see how that changes now.

>pier to pier
Yarrr, us pirates be torrentin' and torrentin', but alas, the ISPs be a foul temptress, slowin' us down in a unbelievable fog of decreased bandwidth.
MR. CODEX! UPDATE THOSE TRACKERS!

>op shitposts
>This must be an invite for me to autistically scream my stance with a hashtag and bunch of video links!
gj gold medal all around, the mental ward you're looking for is down the hall and to the left, this is the mental ward where we want to fuck bugs, dolls, robots, lizards, and other strange things.

I don't torrent cause I like not having viruses.
If they didn't enforce the law in one instance do you honestly think they'll care enough to enforce it in other instances?

youtu.be/YgHNtzxO0y8

I'm just a random user that was joking about your misspelling
but yes, that shit happens all the time, to the point they even made a name for it: preferential treatment

I wish a giant planet sized meteor would just smash into Earth killing us all. The universe can only be a better place with humans gone.

Really, we haven't touched the universe that much. Only launched a few sattelites, is all. Your claim would be more accurate if it said Earth would be better off.

Reminder to those of you who treat this as an us vs. them argument like console wars or television competition or Coke vs. Pepsi: the ones who are against net neutrality are corporations more than companies, and they care only about money. They only care about you so much as you keep buying their stuff - the moment you stop, you're dead to them.

>we haven't touched the universe that much
That's right and that meteor would keep it that way.

Ok, what does the Net Neutrality rollback mean for a person that watches cartoons on Dailymotion? Give me an honest answer, is anything going to change?

Not youtube and probably unable to pay the extra costs for a reasonable connection speed to the end user.
So it will probably suck even harder now.

youtube.com/watch?v=jixxYx9fklM

So they fine them 200k and they shrug and keep right on doing it.

The FTC is fucking toothless nowadays.

If your ISP gets their own video streaming service, there's a good chance DM will slow down dramatically unless you pay more money than most normalfsgs.
Er, I mean, "certain favored sites will have access to fast lanes, but that definitely won't take the form of other sites slowing down because that would be unethical and drive customers to use any of the other 0 competitors in the area."

>Based Ajit Pai making the internet great again.

Mark Hamill tore into Pai's ass for having the audacity to touch a lightsaber and sicced an ancient all powerful demonic sue happy demon on our buddy Ashit Pie.

For some reasons Conservatives cant wrap their head around businesses wanting to make money above all else. Meanwhile they're begging that fat orange fuck to bring back their slave tier jobs that will become outdated/outsourced within 20 years because again, businesses want to make money.

For all of Hilldawg's faults, at least she proposed a program for retraining these hicks into new relevant jobs.

>Can remember a time where it took 5 mins to load a porno on a streaming site
>It actually wasn't that long ago
>Now we're going back

fuck yeah a celebrity with an opinion

>soon I can't make fun of my Australian friend's internet
It hurts.

>Being this butthurt about losing your job

Better step up your shitposting game, gotta compete somehow.

>defending limitations on internet access and the corporations that benefit from it, even ironically

What happened to this place? Has Sup Forums‘s influence really planted itself this deep?

I remember when internet was enjoyable in mid to late 2000s. I'm glad to see it going back to those days.

>siding with liberals on ANYTHING
I bet you think Flint didn't deserve the repercussions for their shitty water decision.

Captcha: sage road

Sup Forums should have been nuked years ago. People here will deny it but those dank meme spewing retards had a major effect on the US presidential election.

>NET NEUTRALITY WASN'T A THING BEFORE 2015 AND WE WERE FINE

Wrong
2005 - Madison River Communications was blocking VOIP services. The FCC put a stop to it.
2005 - Comcast was denying access to p2p services without notifying customers.
2005, AT&T suggested giving preferential treatment to some web giants in exchange for money, starting the whole thing.
2007-2009 - AT&T was having Skype and other VOIPs blocked because they didn't like there was competition for their cellphones.
2011 - MetroPCS tried to block all streaming except youtube. Proceeded to sue the FCC over this.
2011-2013, AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon were blocking access to Google Wallet because it competed with their bullshit. edit: this one happened literally months after the trio were busted collaborating with Google to block apps from the android marketplace
2012, Verizon was demanding google block tethering apps on android because it let owners avoid their $20 tethering fee. This was despite guaranteeing they wouldn't do that as part of a winning bid on an airwaves auction. Fined $1.25 million for this.
2012, AT&T - tried to block access to FaceTime unless customers paid more money.
2013, Verizon literally stated that the only thing stopping them from favoring some content providers over other providers were the net neutrality rules in place.
2014, Verizon and Comcast throttled Netflix data and held those customers hostage to a huge bribe from Netflix.

>had a major effect on the US presidential election.

No they didn’t. The only major effect they have is shitting up the rest of the site, and they do it quite well.

You do realize how autistic you sound, right?
You're essentially just saying that people who had no connection to that decision should be punished for no actual reason.

Man, Verizon really stepped up their game around 2011.

Elections have consequences, stupid. Next time don't elect retards.

>I bet you think Flint didn't deserve the repercussions for their shitty water decision.

What are you talking about? I live in Michigan and that was a decision made by the emergency manager appointed to the city by Rick Snyder, our republican governor.

You underestimate the power of impressionable youth and dank asf maymays.

The Russians and the Alt Right used the internet to their advantage.

>It's another net neutrality thread

You guys have the entirety of plebbit to circlejerk over this, how about going back there instead of shitting up the cartoon board?

>literally ten events that 99% of liberals were not bothered by but will claim they were bothered by now

>I don't torrent cause I like not having viruses.

If you get viruses from torrenting you're legitimately retarded

We weren't bothered by them because the FCC stopped them because of Net Neutrality.

Jesus Christ, think critically for once in your god damn life.

>Dancing with a Pizzagate conspiracy nutjob

What did he mean by this?

...

It'll be over soon and everyone will forget about it.

>republitards doing mental gymnastics to find ways to never question daddy

nothing to see here, folks

>she proposed a program for retraining these hicks into new relevant jobs.

Like?

B-but muh Clean Coal will reopen coal mines and make America great again!

>they care only about money.
Yes, that's how they stay in business.
I certainly wouldn't expect a business that I do not patronize to care about me. That would be silly.

Not him, but what's stopping them from stopping those companies again?

He left out the most important part of the story.
Verizon sued the FCC because technically they weren't properly classified for it to actually protect the consumer.
So in response the FCC created the hundred something page thing that properly classifies them and contains regulations for them is what got repealed that people call net neutrality.
Only reason net neutrality exists is cause Verizon got pissy and forced their hand.

The whole NN kerfuffle right now is because FCC is giving up their ability to do that.
So essentially, they're doing themselves from protecting consumers, and the only defense they give is that it'll somehow encourage competition in a market that has such a high legal and financial barrier to entry for new competitors that it even shut out Google, and innovation in a market that has no competition to incentivize innovation.

hillaryclinton.com/issues/workforce-and-skills/

She's talked about it so many times.

>Burgers fuck up therefore all the world must
suffer
fuck off

>actually linking (((her))) website
Shareblue soycuck confirmed. Go back to reddblr.

are you mentally disadvantaged user?

>training for jobs
>not actual job creation

>asks a question
>gets linked to the answer
>mocks the person for answering the question they asked

Sup Forums
Not even once.

Remember when Ajit Pai was arguing a while ago that an area with only one provider was competitive?

Each and every time the FCC took someone to court the judge at the end said that even though there were rules in place the FCC didn't have legal grounds to fight companies on said rules

the net neutrality bit in 2015 was the FCC finally having the legal grounds to do something

Net Neutrality was established by Obama in like 2014. Like in the 6th year or so of him being president!

>double spacing
>pro-NN
Hmm, I can't put my finger on the website you came from

Each time before, the FCC stepped in until Verizon finally sued.
So Obama enacted a set of rules that let the FCC regulate ISPs. Before the suit, the world and the FCC assumed that internet communications were covered by the 1996 expansion of the Telecommunications act until a judge ruled against it.
Tribalism is retarded. You'll realize that when you're older. Maybe then you'll stop voting for idiots who actively want to hurt you.

I don't. Link me?

arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2017/10/fccs-claim-that-one-isp-counts-as-competition-faces-scrutiny-in-court/

>But the commission rationalizes this abandonment of its core responsibility under the statute—to prevent unjust and unreasonable rates—on the grounds that competition will eventually blossom.

Wow, so prices will eventually go down through the law of positive thinking!

So, literally the only reason that posters here are against net neutrality is because Trump's people want to get rid of it, right?
If Trump supported it and Obama had been against it, they'd be all in favor of NN. Correct?

Oh dang, you figured us out.

>Trump's people

But he was there before Trump

Obama appointed him in the name of bipartisanship.

Trump made him head of the place and put him in a position of power.

Obama's biggest fucking mistake was trying to extend an olive branch to a party that made blocking him on everything a core tenent of their platform.
