I'm sorry faggots but this board is needed urgently for a matter of nostalgia and urgent reminiscence. Your gay porn and memes will have to wait. Clear?

I liked the floaty heads the best

Fun fact - one of the potential S3 episodes that never got made were about their mortal nemesis's, the Puddle Heads. Think like japanese Kappas but less monkey. Tony Collingwood was kind enough to draw one for me when I went to his studio (pic related) - Keep an eye out for them in his newest series Thorgar, which btw is looking just as great as The Secret Show - I was "the first person under 30" to see the trailer for it and it's damn funny.

Okay, here goes... I actually recorded him retelling it (he did some amazing voice impressions) but my phone shat out and deleted it before I'd saved it anywhere.

>>Be "Changed Daily"
>>giving standard briefing by your trusty mantelpiece
>>business as usual
>>conversation is suddenly interrupted by an unusual buzzing form the clock over the fire
>>Victor asks what it was
>>you say it sounded like an alarm
>>Professor Professor asks what you set it for,
>>you say you don't remember setting an alarm for anything
>>Anita reasons that you set an alarm to remember something so that's probably why you don't remember
>>this argument is interrupted by the rather loud and intrusive noise of an ancient, rusty be-cobwebbled film projector emerging from the ceiling
>>it starts playing a film of someone with a passing resemblance to yourself leaving a message
>> [in stereotypical 40's RAF accent] "If you are watching this secret film then it means that the alarm I set for 100 years has finally gone off, which means that the men we sent into deep space should be arriving any second.... NOW."
>> cue what sounds like a flying model-T ford backfiring and sputtering in the distance
>>so, everyone prepares for the landing party, much pomp and celebration
>>even got the band out ready to play them in
>> very ramshakle slightly steampunky ship skids to a painful halt on the ground outside the base
>>everyone starts cheering as the hatch opens
>>all these very bedraggled men come stumbling out
>>all screaming "IT FOLLOWED US" "IT'S COMING"
>>they all run inside the base and slam the door
>>you and everyone else are understandably rather disturbed
>>the band has long-since trailed awkwardly off
>>everyone slowly turns to the general direction where the ship appeared from
The following quote is actually Tony's exact words at this point
>>"they see this fuck-off terrifying horrible alien craft looming in on them"

....and THAT's how The Secret Show S3E01 Would've begun.

How big of a mindfuck was the Helsinki episode back when you were a kid?

Honestly not as much as The Wobble Men From Dimension Ten.

I mean it was still fucked up but that was on another level entirely.

Which one was that?

The one where we finally meet Victor's father and it's one of the weirdest episodes but also somehow genuinely tearjerking.

Are they in like a cave and they have to rescue him or something?

Not far off - there's a portal. Post twist - they can't save him...

I may remember pieces of that one.
One that’s weirdly stuck out to me over the years is the one where there’s a special dip that lets you use your hand for gaming.

That would be The Hand - with villain Simon Sez and his decidedly shonky toys. It's the only one in the show that's part of a two-parter, being the latter half of one with the episode before, World Savers.

Dude how much of this show do you watch?

All of it lol. All 52 - well, more like 56 but most of those extra ones you wouldn't know, they were never released - I got 'em straight from the studio archive.

Did you use to work on the show?

Sadly no but with a bit of luck I might in 2019...

Would a potential revival be any good, though? You know how those can be.

True, but a lot of the new ideas for it were coined while the original series was in production. They still have all the original assets and all the original VAs are still around doing things. All the old writers are still in the business too.

I’ll be looking forward to it anyhow. Good luck on your archive.

Thanks, I might make new threads here from time to time to update you then.

Holy shit that looks cool

>....and THAT's how The Secret Show S3E01 Would've begun.

Wow! What a way to start a season!

Thank you for making this thread. Hope it survives for a few more hours...

Hey, I remember this thing
...Sort of

Would we ever learn Changed Daily's real name? I vaguely remember his partner mentioned it but it was covered by noise.

>the episode where first contact is established but the aliens turn out to be too irresistably delicious

haha what the fuck memories are flooding back

This series is perfect meat for a family movie in current year, similar to Cloudy in animation or can be a family version of Kingsman.

>they assemble a team of vegetarians because they're not affected by the aliens
>most of them start eating them anyway
>"they just smelled so fishy, I couldn't help myself"
>"SINCE WHEN IS FISH A VEGETABLE"

Why'd they always interrupt the fluffy bunny show for this
Not that it looked good or interesting but I was always curious

Honestly that's one of my favourite lines in the entire first season. Both the line itself and the sheer infuriated indignance of the delivery absolutely make that rather odd episode completely worth it.

I'm gonna share another detail he told me - "Changed Daily" being drunk throughout the series was a studio in-joke that they sprinkled references to throughout:

>>"I'll stay here and hold the port-FORT. Hold the fort."
>>"12%? That's all the proof I need!"
>>"Er, did anyone else just see a pink elephant? {...} W-well no, neither did I of course, obviously..."
>>favourite food is maderia cake (main ingredient is wine)
>>when Santa accidentally covers him in christmas wrap, the pattern is wine bottles
>>half his dialogue is slurred, which is hilarious to rewatch after knowing all this.

Apparently this came to a head with a fully-animated crew-only short "Changed Daily's Christmas Message" which apparently involves an even-more-inebriated-than-usual Changed Daily saying a lot of filthy things before passing out into a pile of empty wine bottles next to his mantlepiece.

While I was at the studio this was the exact exchange that occurred between Tony Collingwood and Helen Shroud:

Tony: "Should... Can we show him the christmas message?
Helen: "NO."

>Tony: "Should... Can we show him the christmas message?
>Helen: "NO."
Kek

I actually have the .pdf of the scrpt for that episode. They literally say his name is * * * * * * and canonically he doesn't actually have a "real" name although Tony said that my friend's idea of "Paul" suited him

It's referred to rarely (once in the show, once in the books) that Changed Daily was left on the doorstep of a nursery as a baby - I came up with the ida that he was left with a smudged note written on a nametag-template that read

NAME:
>>"Diaper must be changed daily"

Add an ink-blot comma and you have an origin story that made Tony Collingwood actually laugh out loud. Certainly one of my prouder moments, kek

>That last part
Thats some lovecraftian shit right there

When I was watching it, I always wondered why Changed Daily acted so weird and dumb. It's fucking hilarious that it was intentional, and that he was just drunk.

Honestly it makes some of his best moments even better than they already were.

Also I forgot to add pic related in that one, so.. here, kek

Bump

Who wants to see an episode that's never been released before. 'cause I got like... 3 of 'em, kek

Post'em

"The Martian Dub Of Super-Vic" (extremely rare, only released on the Australian Vol2 and the Taiwanese Vol3 DVDs. To my knowledge, mine is the only upload of it.)
drive.google.com/open?id=0B7Tjk8MKs_RLZm1pWHlUUjZhWFk

"Flick The Switch Commentary" (Completely unreleased and exclusive to my archive) drive.google.com/open?id=1T8Mg15rjMA3jsNC53trY_QU-IGYWq4Lq

"Actors Playing U.Z.Z." (Can be found on YT but this is an uncompressed rip)
drive.google.com/open?id=0B7Tjk8MKs_RLUzNIQjU5Q0RmVk0

"Artists Drawing U.Z.Z." (Just as rare as the Martian dub, although unlike the former can be found letterboxed on YT)
drive.google.com/open?id=0B7Tjk8MKs_RLaVRXRlczc3JKcDg

"The Sounds Of The Secret Show" (again, completely unreleased and exclusive)
drive.google.com/open?id=1ZE0pvGKeXU8Y6HYS6hs949p0T4CmadDs

Can you post more episode scripts?

Unfortunately the only one I have so far is for It's A Hamster World. When I see Tony again next year I'll see if can get some more.

In the meantime, here's a link to the full thing, pic related is probably the best line in it.

drive.google.com/open?id=0B7Tjk8MKs_RLeFNwazljOEx2eHc

You're legendary dude. When I was obsessed with the show many years ago, I was trying to find the music used in the show. It's all pretty nice, with my favorite being the western themed song that goes when the cavalry arrives.

This makes me super nostalgic since me and my dad would stay up late and watch reruns of it on Nicktoons when we couldn't sleep and search for hidden rabbits in the backgrounds in some episodes. He still repeats the "are you still alive" gag on a near daily basis

Holy shti thanks dude

I got a folder of music in the OP link - far from complete but it has the classics such as "Cavalry" and "Tricky" - the composer Roger Jackson told me that was the theme for the Skybikes.

"20 L35 HelsinkiChaseLongxxxx" is also worth checking out, as well as 22 L38 NightTime Howl. also watch out for "30 So Long, Farewell (Wrap Party Song)" with Professor Professor and Changed Daily's duet about cocaine.

My dad loves the show too and still watches it with me occasionally. Do you have any recordings of those Nicktoons broadcasts by any chance? They redubbed a few eps in the US only on that network and recordings of them are rare af, I've only been able to find 3/26!

Thanks dude. I fucking love the trumpet squeal of the main theme in cavalry, I wonder why the full thing never got used.
I love sountracks used in shows, especially the one used/shared by Ren and Stimpy and Spongebob. Its pretty amazing how music can effect people. As in if I asked someone to hum the song that plays during a spongebob quote, they can't, but they can list off all the quotes associated with certain pieces if you play the song. I really can't thank you enough for this.

Also whats the situation that you're involved in? Huge fan that just got to make friends by visiting the studio, or was it something else?

Yep, basically that. Lemme whip it up into a green, hang on.

(part 1)

>>Be me, age 8
>>Be there since the beginning, caught the very first teasers for it in Australia before it even aired
>>Watch it religiously at the time but then gradually forget about it
>> Still buy the two DVDs that are available over here when they come out tho
>>Be me, aged 17
>>Rediscover the DVDs after moving house and decide out of the blue to send fanmail to series creator Tony Collingwood
>>Get reply from his secretary, he's on holiday but will write soon
>>don't hear anything else
>>forget about the show again for a year
>>discover the curious phenomena known as Lost Media
>> discover it's the 10th anniversary of The Secret Show firat airing
>>decide to write to Tony again, make a quip about it being a good holiday
>> ACTUALLY GET A REALLY NICE AND VERY LONG REPLY ANSWERING ALL MY ANNOYING QUESTIONS
>>by his reaction it's the first time anyone's actually sent him fanmail ever
>>wants to have my address to send me something "as thanks for keeping the flame alive"
>>give address
>>a few days later get an enormous envelope full of rare TSS books I didn't know existed, >>a black folder with a copy of the original studio pitch that had never left their premises before,
>>and an autographed note thanking me again for actually remembering the show, with a little hand-drawn doodle of Professor Professor

(part 2)

>>be totally fucking stoked
>>decide to collect literally every piece of merchandise ever made for the show
>>show is... sadly quite obscure but it means not much was made for it, actually collecting EVERYthing is actually possible.
>>already have most of the books thanks to Tony, they're the hardest to find
>>no toys were ever made so apart from 6 books in the UK there are literally just DVDs
>>Spend the next year collecting DVDs, making friends with other fans, and playing BAFTA-winning website TheSecretShow.com via the Wayback (original died in 2014)

(Part 3)

>>contact another guy, specifically Guy Tomlinson, the show's old head of marketing
>>he says "The brand should have a degree of endurance, it just needs careful marketing"
>>says he'll link to the Wayback link we uncovered on his companies website for their work on the show
>>even more stoked than before
>>log on one morning and TheSecretShow.com doesn't load
>>tech-genius friend Nathan says that the wayback's own capture of the site has corrupted for some god-unknown reason
>>luckily we'd downloaded a few of the flash files to fool around with on desktop, didn't think that'd come in handy
>>between everyone we know in the TSS community and the files that the wayback hadn't trashed, we actually have a whopping 85% of the site backed up
>>decide to make a google drive folder to host all the files centrally
>>the birth of a legend
>>do some research, find the company that designed the site, contact them asking if they have their own backup
>>offer to give them your own files if they don't
>>get a reply from a certain Glynn Hayward why actually worked on both the site and the show
>>site was his magnum opus and like Tony is just really glad someone still cares
>>gradually become friends over email
>>one day he mentions that he's meeting Tony and asks if you'd "like to come along"
>>hellyes.png
>>meeting isn't for another month so you bide your time
>>reaching stoke levels previously thought biologically impossible
>>actually get to the studio for an "hour-long" meeting that descends into a glorious 4-hour rollercoaster of Tony, Glynn, Helen Stroud and even Andrea Tran the artistic director happily regaling me with tales from behind the scenes

You're a fucking legend user

oops I forgot to proof that last line and it became a cringe self-insert, buggeration

(Part 4)
>>Helen cracks open the cupboard behind the meeting-table where all the hard-masters for everything the studio has made lie
>>it's disorganised as fuck, your OCD can't take it
>>ask if you can go through it
>>"Be my guest"
>>you're allowed - nay, encouraged! - to take pictures of literally everything so you catalogue the fuck out of their archive
>>discover that masters are missing for episodes 7 and 28 which Andrea is very glad to know - they have them digitally but it means two discs are AWOL
>>put everything back in alphanumerical order
>>Helen's so impressed she invites you back to do the next shelf
>>prospect of internship at the studio you worship
>>HELLYES.gif

Part 5, final for now

>>brexit happens
>>the uni you wanted to go to is now off the table because international students don't have guarenteed fees
>>rates could triple and you couldn't do fuck about it
>>so start university on the other side of the world back in Australia next March
>>leaving UK that week
>>Ask to go back to the studio the night before I leave
>>they actually say yes
>>get to sort out another few shelves, actually bring my tablet with the working disc drive so you can copy over stuff
>>they let you copy over literally anything that takes your fancy because their archive is in better shape than it has ever been
>>leave with 90% of what was considered the show's "lost media"
>>happyboi.jpg
>>unable to return for another 9 months but totally worth it
>>pic related

fug I did it again, writing in 2nd-person is hard for newfags

also it is 6 am and I haven't slept because I've been determined not to let this thread die overnight, obviously the unfortunate side effects of this are beginning to manifest

wtf I just realised this post of mine has my discord hash.

#6668 not even joking

You work is not forgotton. Thank you legendary AgentAnon. That sounds like every kid's dream come true.

Thanks user, that means a lot - who knows maybe others will be inspired, it shows that stuff like this is possible with just the right amount of autism, kek.

Side note, that collection of mine is nearly complete apart from 5 items - and to my knowledge ONLY 5, incredibly.

The South African Vol1 (can't even find a pic of it but I have an out-of-stock listing - it reuses the UK cover by mistake) loot.co.za/product/kate-harbour-the-secret-show/bdkb-597-g730#

The Portugese Vols1-3 (I managed to order number 4 but the others are so rare the only pic of Vol2 on the entire internet is in b/w, pic related has a recolour I guesstimated)

and the Taiwan/Hong Kong Vol1 VCD (I have VCDs 2-6 but number 1 is out -of-stock on every site I found)

If anyone on here has any idea where they might be able to get these, let me know - my email address is on most of the files in the OP link.

bump
you have my axe, OP.

Also Cavalry actually did get used in full a few times, although it's kinda hard to hear. What really wasn't used was "School Of Cool", only the first 3rd of it was ever used and even then most of it was from one of the DVDs menus - I didn't even know it had a piano solo until I found it on one of the discs at Tony's!

Holy shit. I LOVED this show as a kid, and recently tried desperately to get some friends to remember it, but nobody did. Thought I was going crazy.

Thanks based OP for proving me right and for all the stuff you've compiled.

VICTOR
ARE YOU STILL ALIVE

YES

I'M STILL

ALIVE

Honestly one of my favourite things about the show was how they spent pretty much the entire first series just reinforcing all these running gags, and all of the second season ruthlessly subverting them. case in point, Victor Of The Future:

"Victor, is Victor still alive?"
"Yes, he's still alive, he- I mean me- I mean I- ah, dk- HE'S OUT COLD."

Oddly enough I actually found the most enjoyable song in the series to just be the opening, it's really underrated.
youtube.com/watch?v=3ZB18qM7c2w

Holy shit user, this is amazing, quality thread

It really is a great tune. I have an extended version in the music folder mentioned before, and you can see the composer play the guitar stem live followed by Changed Daily trying and failing to one-up him in The Sounds Of The Secret Show.

Pic related for part of the official lyrics, kek

Also if you thought the english one was great you should hear the Mexican. It's extremely hard to find but it's not hard to see why...

drive.google.com/open?id=0B4-4gK-9O5FzUFV2aWVlcmc4R2M

having trouble seeing most of these vids for some reason
thought it was the shitty console im using but when i moved to my pc the problem persists

Huh... I have problems with it to and I'm the uploader lol. I find if you're using multiple google accounts, viewing them with your first (/u/0/) account usually works.

nvm, firefox played them just right
kek

The Mexican theme sure is something. For some reason there's no sound for the music folder, a bit strange, still the Sounds of the secret show actually makes me appreciate the show a lot more. It's really charming and shows just how much work and passion the crew put into the show, plus the places they work are really cool.

That is odd, was working fine last I checked - try downloading one of 'em - chances are you'll want it on your ipod anyway!

Downloaded it and it works, I've always wanted a longer version of the opening and now that I have it I can say it's everything I was hoping for. Like holy shit, why has no one uploaded this before? The extras are also really awesome. Thank you based user.

Shame the song doesn't have the lyrics, but it's still great.

y'know what, I might just add them in lol, gimmie a bit to edit it

Da da dee daa do

Beda dada dee da da da

Wew

Let's keep it that way user, this is a secret thread user, don't tell anyone about it, in fact it's so secret we change the thread title daily, today it's called...

*bu-dip*

Ohhh.... Dingle-Dangle Slappy-Berry

that's legit one of the names he gets in one of the previously unreleased eps, I'm not even joking[/spoilers]

>Dingle-Dangle Slappy-Berry
Being Changed Daily is suffering, he'll never be Jet Strong

Botheration, those triples gave me bad luck - short intro's a rather different mix to the extended, so cutting/slicing them sounds really obvious even if you line them up exactly.

Yes, poor man - no wonder he drinks too much!

The extended cut is still really good, even without the lyrics. Really though, all this extra content is a pretty sweet early Christmas present.
At least he has a cool mustache
Not as cool as Jet Strong's though

>2 secret show threads
what kind of fuckery is this?

He makes for a very good reaction pic on the original Nicktoons Premiere poster.

That's not even edited.

What the-

This thread is so secret that we've deployed decoy threads to cover our tracks, so no one really knows which one is the real secret show thread and which one is the fake, not even the OP, that's how secret it is.
And saved

my favourite was the one where everyone turned into a zombie if they said yes or no.
>Victor, are you still alive?
>YE-aaah, uh, affirmative! Don't ever ask me that again.

They really put a lot more effort into the show then they needed to, at least if the comedy and behind the scenes posted here were any indication. Sucks we never got a third season, no more good spy cartoons

You should see the DVDs.

2 hours of specially made animation and new voice clips

And that's just the MENUS.

They were so interactive they each came with a fuckin' booklet to write in, to keep track of all the easter eggs and how to unlock them.

Wait seriously? I might need to order these DVDs then

That's pretty much my favourite, with a close second being from Catch The Birdman:

>Professor Professor! Are you still alive?
>Ugh, Yiss I'm ztill alieve.... Vat a stupid qvestion...!

I loved this show

Look in the OP link under DVD Menus - Vol1-2 show off the full extent. There were menus made for Vol3-4 but they've never been seen as they were never released in english, and the international releases cut out almost all of them.

Well shit, all four volumes are sold together for only 30 bucks, that's not bad

It's pretty underrated, I'm surprised Sup Forums doesn't talk about it more often, guess it's better that way all things considered, generals usually are pretty bad

That's the Italian release - it has most of the extras but it's still missing quite a lot. Your only option for the English Vol2 is Australia, but you van get the original Vol1 both there and in the UK.

Never forget that PPxSLG is canon

But what about Victor and Anita?
Ah, I see, well at least I can see a lot of the content in the google drive OP posted
